How cheap do you reckon would be the trigger for you? My trigger finger is very itchy and I was looking at the prices of these before this sale, thinking $180 was likely through olc direct, but they seem to have upped their prices by a tonne during this sale. I'd like some good wireless for a change tho, so I don't know how long to wait haha
I've been waiting for a good price on this too for about a month. I don't think it'll ever go back down to what it used to be (150-170); https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/348067
You guys could be right. This item is very hot at the moment so the price probably won't be cheaper. This is a happy price indeed.
I pulled the trigger haha.
eBay price reduced to $232, so it's now $185.60 (after 20% off)
futu_online and shopping-express-clearance is now $230 so final is $184 after 20% off
What is the difference with RT-AC88U ?
Hi Guys,
I've got NBN FTTP on TP-LINK Model Number: TL-WR740N.
Will this RT-AC68U give better speed than the above router? Please share your thoughts.
Cheers!
I think FTTP needs a modem router? I have FTTP and also struggling to find out which modem router would be best for me.
No, FTTP needs a router (FTTN and FTTB need a VDSL2 modem/router).
Most modem/routers can be run in Router mode by plugging an Ethernet cable in the WAN or eWAN port (bypassing the modem feature).Wtf? Why does everyone suggest I need a modem on whirlpool and the such?
TL-WR740N is an entry-level single band (2.4 GHz) 150 Mbps Wireless N Router.
RT-AC68U is a full featured dual band (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) 600+1300 Mbps Wireless AC Gigabit Router. If you have modern devices that support wireless AC, then this router will definitely provide better wireless speeds (internet speed will be limited to your max NBN speed). It will also handle a lot more devices connected simultaneously.
eBay price reduced to $228, so it's now $182.40 (after 20% off)
Thanks. Waiting for cheaper price :)
