Does this include a fire extinguisher?

    • +2

Good deal over here and here

    • -3

Samsung after-service is really good, it's a shame they get stuck with faulty electronics sometimes. They do a great job as a company though.

      • +3

There would want to be good after-sales service after they burn down your laundry.

        • It's hard not to make mistakes when your products are in every home across the world.

        • +3

@StoneSin: I would say that's even more reason to make the effort to get it right.

        • @StoneSin:

Some of the ones that burnt down are ones that have been repaired under the product recall

        • -1

@biganthony10: I think you need to look up human error.

        • -1

@Thrawn: Yes. You don't replace something you think you can repair. Turns out repairing fundamental problems is hard.

        • @StoneSin: You need to look up two phrases, "Fit for Purpose" and "Product Liability"!

      • +1

They weren't very good when washers were burning. Just a sticky tape and called it a day. But that is hardly the case with them, another that pops in my mind is VW with their gas emission scam, Apple slowing down iPhones, or Deepwater Horizon oil spill, or fracking and the list goes on. All in the name of the mighty $.

But not to worry. You are covered by the warranty :)

        • I wouldn't put KNOWN "features" in the same bracket as something accidentally having an electrical fault.

You would think they wouldn't repair them if they knew they were going to burn?

        • +1

          @StoneSin:

At the end of the day most companies think of is $$$. Samsung is no exception. But singling them out is of no use. There are many companies doing the same just in a different way. Some are better than others in covering their tracks. If a good deal came I would have no problems buying from Samsung. I don't see VW going down even though they were lying outright about how much pollution their cars make.

        • -1

@bargainparker: Yeah. But Samsung is probably the best company in the world to have something wrong happen to your product with.

        • @StoneSin:

          Try the Australian government.

        • @StoneSin: You are now sounding like a shrill for Samsung!

        • @Musing Outloud: Thanks!

      • +1

        Samsung's after service is excellent.

Our 3 year old front loader failed 3 months ago, nd they happily refunded the purchase price,
we're now the owner of new Samsung front loader.

      • really? good service? I have called Samsung to fix my wash machine once after they replace the parts they have left all the rubbish and boxes behind. and I have to call them to pick up all the rubbish but they never come back.

    • +2

Does it come with 6 months of marshmallows?

  • Might have to wait a while to get the QLD rebate tho

    • +3

      it's available from today :)

    • Went up an hour ago haha. But yes, the rebate will be a long wait.

    • Rebate money available to the whole of QLD is only 20 million, many will miss out.

  • Sorry no rebate for Fire extinguisher.

  • Store in title please, price before rebate in title please.

    • +3

You need a deal on an abacus

  • +2

That price is insane. Pity we don't have this down south :(

    • You don't have washing machines down South, you must be in Tasmania.

  • +2

    great price, decent unit

  • Good price, they must be having a fire sale.

    • -1

Yes, a sale and a fire.

  • Wouldn't take this one for free. My mate has literally had to put off the fire on his neighbor's Samsung washer .

    • +5

      "Put off the fire" eh?

    • +1

A true Ozbargainer would see the liability of owning a Samsung machine, buy it cheaply, use it right and then if there are any problems, complain and get your money back, plus the rebate and all other costs.

This is a fantastic buy, you'll have more problems with worse brands.

      • +4

You sir are devil of a salesman, Now I just need to convince the opposition leader on the budget changes.

    • +3

Yes, I see Samsung going down because their stuff on fire. They had their share of crap just like other companies. No reason to keep bagging them. If I was in need of one, would have no problems buying it. For free? Even better.

    • +1

      This isn't a deal because your mate's neighbor's unspecified samsung washer had a fire…

      Yeah righto

  • +4

The fires were only related to some models of Samsung TOP loaders…

    • -7

Doesn't matter. Their name is mud as far as washing machines go.

      • +1

So because one of their many products had a fault, you'll tar all the products the same??

        • +2

Their repairs were abysmal. Some people had their units supposedly repaired and they still caught fire afterwards.

Samsung should gave recalled and replaced all units.

        • @marlor: I don't think you understand what service is. Samsung service is very, very good.

An airline could have the best service in the world but they'd still not have a seat big enough for a 300kg person.

All they can do is do their best and hope no fat people misread the labels.

        • @StoneSin:

What makes you say Samsung's service is very good? My samsung aircon dripped like crazy before the warranty was over, it got 'repaired' through warranty but the repairman seemed to just gimp the cooling effect and it still dripped. When I complained that the repair didn't work and it didn't cool properly now they said it didn't matter since the product had just ticked over out of warranty.

Their customer support was incredibly rude too. Absolutely terrible company imho.

        • @musicinbed69: Samsung is born from the requirement of good service.

Did you pay for that repair? How long was the tech to come out, etc?

These are the things that matter when talking about service.

        • +1

          @StoneSin:

me thinks you may be a bit biased.

I did pay for that repair through my purchase of the product which ensured the warranty period.

You can't say that service only considers how quickly the tech comes out, and not whether the tech can actually repair the bloody thing.

          Samsung has shit service.

        • -2

@musicinbed69: I'm not biased. I might be ill informed but most of my experiences in Australia with Samsung as well as stories I've heard from relatives have been top notch.

In Korea it's another story, Samsung is 1000x better.

I did pay for that repair through my purchase of the product which ensured the warranty period.

So no, you didn't pay to get it repaired, it was free warranty service.

You can't say that service only considers how quickly the tech comes out, and not whether the tech can actually repair the bloody thing.

??? That's what service is. Service doesn't mean they hire the right contractors. It means they keep only those that provide good service.

        • +1

          @StoneSin:

“Born from the requirement of good service”?

Did they write that in the employee handbook?

        • @marlor: You need to visit Korea. They over-service you.

        • +2

Service doesn't mean they hire the right contractors.

So if mcdonalds hires an idiot who can't get my order right, that's "good service" to you?

          Service is not 'quickness'.

        • @musicinbed69: Yes. McDonalds making bad burgers isn't service.

        • @StoneSin:
I’ve visited Korea three times on business. It didn’t really blow me away.

In fact, being a white guy, people seem to either just come up and randomly talk to me in broken English then mysteriously run off, or ignore me totally.

Going back there isn’t a priority.

But how does any of this relate to washing machines bought and serviced in Australia?

Really, being patriotic about a brand just because it’s local is a silly idea. I have no German heritage, but buy Bosch or Miele appliances because they are objectively better.

        • @marlor: by a Korean company

      • +1

My front loading Samsung washer is over 10 years old, with a broken plastic door handle being the only issue - it was $13 to replace myself. I buy another if it failed.

  • Just a reminder- The rebate is not guaranteed. Excerpt from QLD govt website-
"The Queensland Government has committed $20 million for the rebate. The scheme will end when the funding is exhausted, so payment of a rebate is not guaranteed."

    • +1

$20 mill for a bunch of people is a lot. It's about 75,000 successful rebates.

    • -1

Funding will be exhausted already, all the money is going into those shitty Commonwealth Games instead.

      • All $200 of it. Have you seen the stadiums? They look worse than a free park festival.

I've got an earlier model of this machine for $400 over 5 years ago. Its the best front loader we've ever had. I recently put new brushes in it for $25 but other than that it has run like a champ. And we do a lot of washing with 3 kids. Our previous expensive whirlpool front loader totally crapped out after 5 years - pump, brushes, door interlock, and bearing.

    • +2

Hi. I have had the same experience sans the brush replacement. 5 years from a front loader is good and our is going strong.

    • +1

The motor in mine was replaced free at about 4 years old, as 10 years warranty on the motor only. If it had been anything else, would have been SOL. Took a week or so for the service to happen but I was quite surprised how well it all went.

  • +2

I have one very similar to this, about 18 months old and working great.

Parents have one also and its going great guns 10+ years now.

  • +3

I've got a Samsung front loader for almost 5 years now and no complaints.

I have bought exactly this machine at Appliances Online in December. They scheduled the delivery for two weeks after. The day that it supposed to be delivered I waited the whole day (Friday) for it. In the end of the day, they gave me call saying that it has to be re-schedule for the next Friday, because they didn't have it in stock. Ok, I waited for one more week with no washing machine. Then I waited next Friday the whole day again at home (loosing a work day) and nothing. I gave a call in the end of the day, and they said: "ohhh I am sorry, we don't have stock, can we reschedule for the next month??"
After that I just asked my money back. Got that, then I went to harvey normann, payed $10 less of the price that I have paid for Appliances Online, and got the washing machine in the same day. The down side is that I had to install by myself. But it was much better than wait like a idiot for this store and never get my washing machine.
So If you cannot wait 2 months for a product, don't buy from them.

    • -1

Next day delivery for me, and they carried my fridge to third floor (no elevator), good service. Maybe you don't live in metro area?

      • I live in the city. and it was free delivery. I as said, they told me it was out of stock many times

  • +1

Just called about my order and they have no stock, despite advertising ~5 day delivery. Been promised a callback tomorrow with an ETA.

    • I just called them and they told me there was no stock and that delivery is scheduled for March 19! The eBay email estimated delivery was 5 days.

What did they tell you? If I cancel my order would I get my money back?

      • If you cancel your order with us you will get your money refunded.

Ideally, Samsung will fulfil a new shipment to QLD next week and you will hopefully get your washing machine by late next week, however, we are relying on Samsung fulfilling their shipment to us ASAP.

See my post in this thread for more details.

The eBay estimate is based upon whatever the retailer suppliers to eBay. In this case I believe the estimate is calculated from adding the processing time (3 days) and our next day delivery (1-2 days).

Unfortunately, we can't supply eBay with a shipping estimate from your nearest warehouse (more on that in my other post), so products in our eBay store will almost always say estimated delivery is 5 days.

        • Thank you for the refund and the explanation

  • +1

Ebay says it'll arrive before March. They're saying to me 19 March with no guaratee. Yet they're still listing it at the moment that they'll arrive 1st March. Reported them in ebay as pre-sale

  • Update for any Appliances Online Queensland customers for this model.
The combination of the 10% off PRONTO coupon and the $200 QLD rebate means this model has sold like hotcakes in QLD and our QLD warehouse is out of stock - we still list this product on our eBay store because we have plenty of this model in stock in our other warehouses.

    In this scenario there are two things we can do;

    1. Transfer stock from NSW to QLD in a semi-trailer
    2. Ask Samsung to ship a new order as soon as possible to our QLD warehouse

Good news is I have received confirmation this morning from Samsung that the vast majority of orders will be fulfilled by next week.

This means that once stock arrives in our QLD warehouse next week from Samsung, we will begin shipping out the washing machines next day after their arrival.

On behalf of Appliances Online I apologize for any delay in getting your washing machine to you.

Please don't hesitate to call our 24/7 customer support line on 1300 000 500 if you have any questions for us or want to get your order refunded because of the delay.

Finally, I am working directly with eBay Australia on this very issue for a retailer with multiple warehouses and eBay have proposed a solution to allow for state-based inventory feeds, which would allow Appliances Online to show and sell products based on availability in your state. We are still in discussions on this issue so there's no timeline on when this can be fixed.

    • Hi @AppliancesOnline.com.au Any updates.. It is almost the end of the week you stated in your post above.
      Cheers

  • Stupid. Received email confirmation that it will be delivered today 19/3 (driver will sms before 10am, which I did not receive). Called them and they said the system says it will be delivered 21/3. Ridiculous.

    • Updates: So the previous email says they have "locked in" for 21/3 but that is a lie. Called on 21/3, they now say it is changed to 22/3. After speaking with the lady she said she doesn't think the stock will ever come in as it is discontinued. Never again buying from these guys. ACCC it is.
