So I purchased from this very deal and received the X90K 65" ‘damaged box’ yesterday, and lo and behold the screen is damaged. I had seen the reports of it happening before so recorded the opening of it, but still can’t believe my luck. Fingers crossed I don’t get stuffed around.

    Coupon Code: APAYDAY3

Lowest price by far for this well specced X670E AM5 motherboard. After the 15% off Afterpay discount code, seems to be the cheapest X670E mobo listed in Australia currently. VRM can handle any Zen 4 or Zen 4 X3D CPU without issues. Plenty of I/O and WiFi 6E onboard. Supports Thunderbolt 4 Add-In PCIe card as well with its TB4 header. Has PCIe Gen 5.0 x16 slot for GPU and Gen 5.0 x4 slot for primary m.2 SSD

Seems to be a genuine discount as most stores are selling it around $519 plus delivery charges (with Umart/MSY having a $499 sale C&C), so starting price before discount has not been unreasonably jacked on this listing.

5 available but they to appear to be adding more stock as sales are made like some other listings during this sale

Reviews seems pretty good everywhere and it has a nice noise profile. Currently 199 on Amazon, and lowest $184 according to PcPartPicker.

    Reviews:
    * Amazon USA 4.6 (3k+ Ratings)
    * Tom's Hardware 4

Looks like gamedudecomputers ebay is having a lot of (30% off) sales too on other products. Other PSU I considered:

    • +6

It is starting to get better, but it needs to be under $1,500 to even be remotely worth it. Its such a gimped card compared to the 4090. It shouldn't even be called a 4080 imo. 4070ti at best is what it should of been called and priced under $1,400

      • +1

Aside from the 4090, all other cards, AMD and Nvidia are named a tier (arguably two with 4070ti) above what they would normally be in previous gens… Pretty depressing where the GPU market ended up post covid

      • How is it gimped?? It's actually really efficient, honestly if you ignore the price its one of the best GPUs out there.

      • +1

Can you elaborate on how this card is gimped?

        • Basically NVIDIA could have released a better gpu as the 4080 and it didn't, the same goes for the 4070ti where the die size and cuda cores are closer to a x060/x060Ti series. I think when sinner says gimped it's not that their performance is bad but that NVIDIA could have released more powerful cards as these models… AMD are no better either naming what traditionally would be 7900xt as xtx and the 7800xt as the 7900xt… Performance is good but yeh … Both are trying to artificially keep prices high to clear the older model stock and keep the GPU market closer to the covid period… Very disapointing.

    Go to Deal
    Coupon Code: APRL15, APRL17

The new Sigma 50mm F1.4 DG DN lens for E-Mount & L-Mount is now on sale. Cheaper than Digidirect's March sale that recently finished. This lens has been thoroughly reviewed and its seems to be very good for a 3rd party lens. This particular lens feature Sigma's newest HLA (high-response linear actuator) autofocus motor and focusing is instantaneous.

Probably not as good as the Sony FE 50mm F1.4 GM but this deal is almost 50% of the cost with probably over 95% of the performance (???). The Sigma is definitely not perfect. There is chromatic aberrations, longitudinal chromatic aberrations and focus breathing. But I think if you're not a professional, you probably won't notice this. Other than that, it appears to be sharp edge-to-edge even at wide open apertures.

    Original Coupon Deal

    • what's sigma?

    • Decent for those who are happy/willing/able to spend a kay on a lens for non-pro use

He is starting out as a corporate photographer and wanted to know if he's charging the client correctly.

Based on your theory, he's just not pro? I don't think so. There are some creative pro people out there too

I know the person wanted a deal on f1.2 or maybe he thinks highly of it and probably believes he has customers who can tell the difference between 1.2 and 1.4.

    • +1
    • +1

Previous life had camera stores and Old Sigma=Rubbish.
Art series Sigma are best value for money and at times better rated than original. I had a Nikkor 85 F1.4 sat in silence while I used the Art 50 F1.4 Cant speak for Sony but better rated by DxoMark than original Nikkor Lenses so my primes all changed to Art series.

      • Yeah, old Sigmas on dSLRs had lots of issues with focusing - had a mate who went through about 3 Sigma 50s trying to get one that focused consistently and failed.

Much better on mirrorless and with the Art series.

        Such good value.

    • Damn, I didn't want to buy one this soon but can't pass it up at that price.

      • +2

        Treat yourself mate

      • If it's anything like my Sigma 35/1.2 - It will be amazing.. I live by my 35/1.2

      • Alternatively, I found the Samyang 50mm F1.4 AF Series II on Videopro for $880! It is over $1K everywhere. I was set to order the Samyang because of the smaller size then this Sigma came in. I think for another $100+, I would rather have a more reliable AF.

        https://www.videopro.com.au/product/samyang-lens-50mm-f1-4-a…

    • Hoping for a sub $1000 deal on the Tamron 28-75mm G2 at some point, seeing mid $1100s on ebay, or maybe the Sigma Art 24-70mm

      • I believe the Sigma Art 24-70mm F2.8 is better optically but it is larger and heavier compared to the G2.

        • Yeah I've had both in my hands before, the Tamron feels much lighter. I'm honestly so split it'll be which ever has a great deal first. The 24mm over the 28 is definitely a win too, I feel like I want to be in that 24-28 bracket more than the 70-75, but $1410 with this deal versus $1150 for the Tamron.

          • @Herk: Do you absolutely need F2.8? If yes, I think you won't be disappointed with either one. If not the FE 20-70mm F4 has better range.

            • @Davesday: Yeah F2.8 feels right for me. I think the Sigma would be the easy choice if it was the same price, but Tamron being $250-300 cheaper and lighter is tempting. Definitely regret getting the 55mm 1.8 prime zeiss lens though. Upgraded from Canon to Sony and really miss my old lens.

              • @Herk: Yeah Canon does have some nice glass but AF on the Sony is amazing.

                • +1

@Davesday: Yeah I was using a Canon 7D (the original version) for a little bit past its lifespan. Wanted to stay in Canon but their new lens policy is just too archaic, Sony just has too many good choices

    • Thinking of going for a 35mm and an 85mm for my first 2 sets of prime lens, thoughts on how they compare to something like the 50mm?

      • +1

Really depends on what you're trying to do. Generally this is how I use the lens/focal lengths. You shouldn't be limited to how they are used but instead follow your creative needs.

        1. 16-20mm - Landscape, architecture and astrophotography
        2. 24mm - Landscape, astro or environmental portraits
        3. 35mm - Full body portraits or street photography
        4. 50mm - General walkabout, half-bodied portraits, street photography or product photography
        5. 85mm - Half-bodied or shoulder to head portraits

If you want a general prime lens, then 50mm? Really it will be toss between 35mm or 50mm. For me, I'll definitely get a 85mm lens.

BTW DCXpert has the Sigma 85mm F1.4 DG DN lens at a discounted price using the same Ebay coupon codes. Good luck!

    Coupon Code: APRL15, APRL17

    Original Coupon Deal

Eufy X8 (not hybrid) robot vacuum on eBay for $649.00, less 17% for Plus or 15% for non-Plus. Seems to be the cheapest it has ever been. It has 4000Pa suction, LIDAR mapping, 600ml dust box. No mop, no auto-empty bin (I didn't want either).

My Eufy 35C is over 2 years old now and still going strong so they are quite reliable. The X8 is probably not as good as some of the competition, but a great deal for this price. I looked at spare parts (battery, side brush, main brush & filter) - for X8 they are $115, and for iRobot J7 $258, and for Roborock S6 MaxV a whopping $325. So the ongoing costs for the X8 are substantially lower as well as the low up-front price of these models.

    • Still Waiting for a good deal on the hybrid, not sure how they’re maintaining the high pricing given all the advances in competition models

      • what is the hybrid can do that different from the usual ?

Hybrid just has the mop, just the drag a wet cloth around type

All the reviews I looked at said that the mopping was pretty average at best, and I don't want something that just drags a damp cloth over my floors and potentially my carpets.

The only "mop" robot I would even vaguely consider is possibly the new top-of-line Roborock with a vibrating "scrubber" and the ability to lift the mop when it hits carpets. The basic mop on the hybrid would be a complete waste of time I think.

        • Yeah I just want something to do a pre-mop wipe, I have the eufy wetvac w31 to do a proper clean which has been absolutely fantastic. The x8 just seems overpriced compared to others, should be sub 499 for these specs IMO but they’re getting there
