A large TV is considered as Back to Uni item? More like Back to Holiday.

    • +1

      It's just a large monitor…

The Xbox to go with it, well….

      • +1

Haha, looks like OP has changed to the photo from a TV to a laptop.

    • In between lectures, studying and rest, there needs to be a way to get some Xbox on.

        How about an internship?

        • You should be at the pub networking when doing an internship ;)

To get some business experience for after the Arts Degree.

Something to do between dole checks.

      • +3

        It's cheques, not checks…

Business experience might provide you with money, but more importantly, Arts degrees teach you how to spell it correctly.

(As one with both undergraduate and postgraduate Arts degrees… And still no job…)

  • I can't believe the original surface book with performance base is still available after the last 20% off. This is a bargain when compared to the new surface book 2 with gtx1050 as the gtx965 performs nearly as well but has better thermals (from what I can tell 75W part vs 50W part).

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Surface-Book-with-Performance-Ba…

    • What does that performance base do to make it $300 more?

      • +1

Performance base consists of a larger battery and a discrete GPU GTX965M.

      • I got the i7 non performance base version. It is much better value IMO.

    • Well I can believe it - it's an anemic dual core that throttles hard targeted at professionals that actually need the power it lacks.

      • That is the mistake made by MS, they should have installed a quad CPU on their Surface Book line up.

    • Why not, it's 6th gen CPU, now is already 8th gen.

    • On the fence with this. Does anyone know how this compares to the surface book 2 i5 model ? Cheers

That's brilliant! I work with accountants and I know they will eat this sh*t up

    • Canon mouse + a Canon calc sound great, but as a all-in-one unit? How does that work?

Wouldn't your palm being constantly pressing the buttons?

And if you can switch off the buttons, wouldn't it be as uncomfortable as resting your palm on a porcupine ?

      • +1

Reminds me of the beaded seat covers that taxi drivers use :)

  • They should expand uni semesters to reduce the time taken to obtain a degree by 1 year. :)

    • +1

Griffith University have gone to a trimester which does this.

      • For all courses? I knew Bond Uni does this but didn't know Griffith started doing this.

        • Not all courses, I think that is the plan for the future but at the moment the university now has trimesters instead of semesters and it is now up to the different "Schools" (engineering, law, medicine etc) to offer the subject's across the three trimesters but I don't think many have yet.

        • @tryagain: Oh ok. Back then there use to be "summer" courses where people did it to graduate earlier.

        • @Homr: Yeah, they have now shortened the two existing semesters by a week to make it an actual 3 equal trimesters with 12 study weeks followed by a study week and then two exam weeks.I am just not sure how many of the new intakes are being offered that way, but they are pretty much keeping existing intakes as is.

    • UNSW will start doing that next year.

  • Looking for a gopro deal, but cant seem to find any. Anyone seen any?

Just bought a Zhiyun Smooth Q 3-Axis Handheld Gimbal for $113.76

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/222805824834

JW Computers have them for 10% off. Then the "PAPERS" code works also.

$158 then $142.20 after 10% off (Add to Cart 1st). Then apply the 20% off "PAPERS" code = $113.76.

FYI limited stock, only 6 units left at time of posting.

    • Meant to thank you directly. Just got one before the price was jacked up.

    • Do these work well with GoPro's, or are they only designed for phones? (It appears the latter).
