Your links are all messed up.

But thanks for the post. Gonna get the Good Guys to refund the difference for the 55N7 i bought last week for $985.

    • In my understanding its 120% the difference,so just $3 mate if im not mistaken.its probably not worth it for you if you have to travel a distance and then that chance for you to meet and talk to a grumpy salesman
      Just a thought😊

      • Maths is off mate.
        $985-$958 is already $27 dollars plus additonal 20% = $32.40

      • +1

The Good Guys policy is that if you buy an item from them and then see if for a lower price within 30 days after purchase, then they will refund the difference.

        I figure I am due approx $27.

For anyone on the fence, the 55N7 is a terrific TV, too. Very happy with it. This is our second Hisense TV. We bought the 2016 55" model early last year.

        • +3

I just got $33 back from the Good Guys. They refund 120% of the price difference within 30 days. Stoked.

    • Use their own price which is now down to 955. Few extra dollars :)

      Cool

    • why don't you get it repaired (or replaced) under your statutory rights?

Panasonic has stated that the reasonable life for a higher end TV is 8 years.

    • -8

Oled is sh1t, sorry but it is, go to the store and look at Samsung qled and LG Oled playing the same footage and you'll see what I'm talking about. Don't get deceived by LGs dedicated footage played in stores or the glass panel finish used on the screen.

Not to mention fast paced footage, particles left behind things that are moving etc. LG is terrible, let's not even go into gaming part or upscaling lower resolution footage. Sorry but LG can't come anywhere close.

Purchased a tv at JB on the 10th. What are the odds i get the difference back?

    • +2

Definitely. JB will refund the difference on something if their price drops within a week or two of purchase (sorry, I can’t remember what it is, but it’s at least one week, probably more).

      • +1

        Cheers, will hit them up.

        • +2

JB just refunded me $122 on the 50N7 I bought last week for $920. They said if the price falls below what you paid within 2 weeks, they will refund the difference.

        • @dmajgaard: JB DFO Essendon store manager wouldn't consider any refunds for a $119 difference on a Sony tv purchased 14 days ago. You've done well.

        • @Eric G: seems a little harsh…some credit cards have price protection insurance which I was going to use if JB DFO Homebush refused to refund.

        • @dmajgaard:
Price protection only works if lower price is listed in printed cataloge. I recently tried a claim on furniture but new price was only on web, instore and TV.

No catalogue - no refund! That was with my ANZ card (QBE underwriters) plus some other Bank/underwriter (can't remember who) I checked. Maybe top tier (high free) cards are less strict?

Devil is in the detail :(

        • @deltakilo:
Yes you're right, my nab card has the same conditions and also underwritten by QBE, probably the same product all the banks are using.

    • Very good, usually 2-3 weeks

RACQ members get 6% off JB gift cards also - https://www.racq.com.au/promotions/racq-egift-cards?Category…

    • +3

or 5% entertainment book / 6% AGL rewards.
EDIT: Keep in mind though you may not get credit card extended warranty or price guarantee if you use giftcards.

  • $2396 for the 65inch samsung.. that is amazeballs.. if i needed a tv id jump on it

i paid $2400 for my 40inch samsung LED about 6years ago! hasnt missed a beat, power supply died and samsung repaired it free of charge even out of warranty.. highly recommend Samsung good to deal with.

    • Absolutely agree I have the 65KS8000 I paid around $2400 last Xmas and this new model is better again at similar pricing.I would buy this if I couldn't get an OLED as my first choice

    • -1

I paid $650 for my LG 42inch LED about 6 and a bit years ago.

More like 8 years ago for a price that high, unless you were ripped.

      • err.. it just came out to market when i bought it and was the best price possible, so no i wasnt ripped off lol

you arent comparing specs.. so the price of your LG is irrelevant

      • My Samsung LA40C650 40" LCD was ~$1400 nearly 8 years ago. Can't remember the LED LCDs being that much more expensive, but I guess it depends what model you purchased too, as DrMilan didn't state a model number.

    • Totally agree! No need for an extended warranty. They will look after you for sure.

    • Just received an email from JB advising:

      'Hey there
In today's email we advertised the Samsung Q7 Series 7 65" 4K UHD HDR QLED LCD TV at $2396, which is incorrect. This TV is excluded from the 20% Off TVs sale, and the correct price is $2996.'

    • selected tvs
  • FFS, bought Sony 65x9000e from Videopro eBay store for 2600 and I'm due to receive it tomorrow. Typical that deals come up when I need a TV.

    • Damn, same here. $2476 in JB now, minus gift card 5% means it would of been $2352. I get mine tomorrow too, ah well, deal is done now.

    • +1

      JB wouldn't budge below $3k for the 65x9000e 2 weeks ago…

    • +2

This deal is even better from HN - https://www.harveynorman.com.au/sony-65-x9000e-4k-ultra-hd-l…

      $2476 + 10% back in gift cards.

      • I got JB (Sydney City Westfield) to match the 10% off from HN/Bing Lee - and they did it cash off, not in gift cards. Brings it down to $2228.40 (+$59 delivery). I can get JB vouchers at 7.5% off, so brings it down to around $2116 delivered. Now I just need to hope I can cancel an earlier eBay purchase…

    • I was part of the same deal. Its showing up as $2476.00 on the Videopro website now. Time to claim if you used a cashback card. 28 degrees just approved mine.

  • +3

The Samsung Q7 or the Sony x9000E??

    • We both have the same dilemma. They say the Sony is better though

      • +1

Same here. Hoping someone in the OzBargain community can help us. I have had a chat with 2 different sales rep on this and they tried to push me for an OLED instead of focusing on these models so hasn't been helpful so far.

        • Me three! I'm going to have to decide today though, so any experience here would be much appreciated cheers

        • Get an OLED if you don't care about image burn and vertical banding. You're pretty much need to baby these TVs if you want it to last.

        • Nah mate, I have a 3yr old OLED and it still looks great.

        • What size? I was leaning towards OLED at 55", but I think the LCDs are much better value at 65", where an OLED seems to be $3.5k+ and you can get a good LCD for $2.5k or less.

From looking in stores, OLEDs do look beautiful - much better viewing angles in particular, and obviously great blacks and vibrancy. But I watch most of my TV from in front, and normally with at least some other light, so with the price differential, LCD for me (but high end LCD).

Sony supposedly have the best upscaling as well, so that pushed me towards one of theirs.

    Samsung Q7 or Sony x9000e

    • Leaning more towards to the samsung now because of their awesome warranty claims. I heard sony is crap, but their tv is better. Now i'm confused.

      • The Sony pips it in rtings.com reviews. They're the benchmark

  • Hmm, Sony X8500E 65" or the Samsung MU7000 for an extra $164ish. Prefer the silver Bezel of the Samsung, but is ti a better TV Will be for Lounge mostly FTA, bit of Xbox and 4k Movies. The Samsung Q7 is tempting but wanted to keep it to under $2000 originally

    • +1

      why not Hisense N7 ULED 65 ? :)

      • Have a TCL 4K TV already and hate the Operating System. I like the Hisense as well, but after playing with my brothers Curved Samsung MU8000 really liked the PQ and menu system. Trying to stay away from the lower type brands this time around as will be the main TV in the house.

        • understood i still think its a better tv than the MU7000… i would vote for the Sony if its a model with android tv :)

  • Wow, thanks heaps OP. Was going to buy a TV this weekend so this is a great deal at a perfect time for me. I am also confused like so many others for the models so will keep an eye out for comments.

    Samsung Q7 or Sony X900E.
    Samsung MU7000 or Sony X8500E.

    • What size screen and whats ur budget ?

      OLED
      Q7
      X900E
      X8500E
      MU7000

      • Budget is around $2000. Proffered screen size is 65" but if I can get a high end better technology model within my budget, I wouldn't mind going for a 55" size as well.

  • recommendations for a 65" TV for a lounge room - viewing distance 3-4m? Not a lot of HD, likes to watch golf, otherwise it's just FTA.

    something around the $2k mark

    • +1

      I would suggest Sony 65" KD65X8500E - https://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-home-entertainment/hd-televisio…
      $1996

      • thanks - presumably you can remove the stand and wall mount?

        • Of course you can wall mount.
Wall mountable is true on details in the link.

      • +1

If you can stretch a bit more, the 9000E is probably a bit better. They may match the Bing Lee 10% off (they did for me), bringing it down to $2228 (+ delivery)

  • Interested in X8500E Series - 55in. Missus wont go for Hisense. Is X9500E the best option for a budget of $1200. Would have gone for LG UJ752T if that was available.

    • Waiting on replies on this as well - I was considering the LG UJ752T at some point. It seems like fellow OzBarginers don't like LG TV's (except for OLED). Thinking of the Sony too, but I may wait for a sale on the LG OLED's.

      • Here's a review of the US UJ7700, which didn't rate that well.

Also a review of the Sony X850e, which rated a bit better.

I'd suggest having a look at them in person as well as looking up some more reviews.

If it were me, I'd be going with the Sony.

        • +1

Went to JB and compared sony 85E with UJ752T. I hate the lag on Sony, thats a big deal for me. Bought the LG as I was super impressed with the OS and usability.

        • @AshSet: nice one :) Thanks for the update. Enjoy the new telly!

    • Sorry I meant 8500E not 9500E

  • +1

Should I just order online or go to a store for further discount and possibly free delivery?

    • +2

Def go instore ask for a discount but cant do free delivery thats a fixed price in their system.

      • I got free delivery from jb on last tv after I haggled a bit

  • Which one is better?
    Hisense N7 55" or Samsung MU6100 55" or Sony X7000E 55"
Mainly for FTA, YouTube and occasional movies in the lounge room. Upgrading from 40" FHD TV.
From the recent TGG deal, Hisense seems to be the popular

    • The N7 out of those but check them out in a shop if you can and play with the Operating systems that run on them see which u prefer

      • +1

Looking at their specs, I am leaning towards N7 as well, it's the only one with 3years warranty compared to 1 year on the other two, has most number of Hdmi and usb inputs.
I will go look at the shop this afternoon.
        Thanks!

        • +1

Under ACL you will get at least 2 years standard on the other ones, But the 3yr in home warranty is the best.

        • @solidussnake: agreed. Most just comply with the 2 year ACL

        • Yesterday 2 year old Samsung tv but they changed my main board for free I was thinking they will charge me $300 but surprise

    • +1

MU6100 has the best smart platform for apps etc. but the N7 has better picture quality. If you plan on using an Apple TV, Chromecast, game console etc. then the N7 for sure.

    • Anything but the N7. Hisense are overrated.

  • Samsung 55" UA55MU6100WXXY I was wondering if anyone has used this TV before? Would you recommend it for this price? :) Thank you

  • +1

I'm in the market and have narrowed it down to these two, any opinions experience or recommendations appreciated, cheers!
Hisense N7 55" 4K UHD HDR Smart ULED LCD TV $958 v's Sony X8500E 55" 4K UHD HDR Android Smart LED LCD TV $1198

    • Ditto will most likely get the sony

  • If you have YOUI rewards app you can get 6.5% off $500 gift cards.

  • Samsung Q7 QLED 65 has gone??

    • yeh seems to be …

    • Because the price was an error as their email to me states:

      Hey there

In today's email we advertised the Samsung Q7 Series 7 65" 4K UHD HDR QLED LCD TV at $2396, which is incorrect. This TV is excluded from the 20% Off TVs sale, and the correct price is $2996.

  • +1

Hisense 75n7 is back to $2798 (I missed it last time)
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-home-entertainment/hd-televisio…

I assume this is still a good buy?

Any other suggestions for similar size / quality / price?

    • if the size is what you mainly need there wont be any better at that price similar in Sony X8500 and Panasonic are $3100 and the OLED pana is $800 more and 65"

    • Bought this from eBay Monday night for virtually the same price, delivered Tuesday. Very good unit, not as good as an OLED obviously but for the features you get, great bang for your buck.

    • Can get the same price at Harvey Norman with 10% purchase price voucher
      https://www.harveynorman.com.au/hisense-75-4k-ultra-hd-led-l…

edit - far out, taurenpally beat me to it by 4 minutes! ;)

  • Can anyone recommend a TV model/brand under $1000 between 50-55"? Just for casual netflix and gaming on a PS4. Thank you.

    • +3

      Hisense N7

  • Best 75"?

  • +2

For those considering jumping on JB's sale, check against Bing Lee who are running similar sale prices and offering a bonus 10% of purchase price as store credit. E.g Sony 75x9400e is $5598 at JB/Bing Lee, with bonus 10% store credit at Bing Lee

    • Thanks! Def a better deal than JB then.

    • Do you think JB would match it?

    • Is Bing Lee reliable for online purchase as they don't have stores in my area.

  • +1

Samsung Q7 was a price error according to a revised email sent by JB. Actual price is $2,996.

  • +1

Q7 65 inch taken off the sale. They sent an email saying there was an error and it wasnt meant to be part of the 20% discount :(
