The funny thing is GUTSA upvoted my comment but not the deal, haha.

Sorry just found out where I upvote. 🤓

Haha it only took 3.5 years.

No love for Android phone user.

    • +3

iPhone users have more money to spend (actual statistic).

Beside does Android support this sort of thing? You can just use Stocard, it’s pretty good.

      • +1

yes I am using but there is no 500 points reward for it.

        • -1

Yes but there isn't anything stopping you having 20 unique cards on Stocard and rotating offers through them, rather than one very identifiable apple ID

        • @BadMotivator: I've never seen the need to have 20 Woolworths rewards cards, each to their own haha.

        • @lxndev:

Simple. If you have one rewards card, with your whole family weekly shop on it, woolworths knows that they are already extracting maximum value from you and are therefore not likely to give you offers or incentives to increase your spending.

Conversely, it you are putting 30-50 bucks of shopping per card, they will try to incentivise you to spend more on that particular CARD

        • @BadMotivator: Do this with 10 Woolies cards and 10 Flybuy cards.

Each week I split the shopping between 2-3 cards for maximum rewards.

        • @BadMotivator: Guess I should learn to do some more spending

        • @techboy: I have a couple of Flybuys cards as well but they're a lot better at targeting offers and it's trickier to keep throwaway accounts. Once Flybuys have a good profile on you, they ramp up the thresholds quite quickly. Not so much with woolies.

        • @BadMotivator: Keep all my cards on stocard.

      • The hardware used in the iPhone is a form of NFC as well, just branded differently. The technology arrived 4 years earlier in Android phones, but native payments were released by both around the same time in I believe 2014. That said, I can remember using an Xperia S to pay for things at a card terminal in Japan in 2012.

        • +1

I recall my Samsung Galaxy S3 had NFC built in, that was about 5 or 6 years ago.

I use NFC all the time on my S8 now.

iPhone users have more money to spend (actual statistic).

Read = apple users have more money to 'waste'

        • 40% higher income is what I read.

        • @LoopyLou:

If such statistics can be believed.

      • A lot of the barcode readers can't scan my phone screen though, I'm using the Google Pixel 2 XL. Using NFC on Android for it would be a god send.

        • If there is an auxiliary handheld scanner (such as at KMart) use that, otherwise hold about an inch above the scanner and hold it still. With a bit of practice I seem to going okay now.

        • Make sure your screen is set to 100% bright, when you use the scanner.

      • wish Stocard will soon support NFC, its pain to scan cards with LED screens

    • My thoughts exactly - what about Android users?

      • +2

That's ok, we get freedom as a trade off.

        • -1

          Freedom to do what?

    • +1

I received a $10 Woolworths card for loading mine into my Samsung wallet, but that promo has passed.

    • +1

      Or iPad users.

  • +2

    iPhone 6 or later :(

    • Just use stocard.

  • +1

I'm assuming you can earn the points again, even if you added it last time?
Delete & add again of course.

    • +1

      Did it work?

      • +1

I got the points last time, but I won't know until 16/03/18 whether I'll get them again.

        • +2

I think you'll know within 2 hours if you tap?

Points balance and savings banked will appear in your Rewards balance within 2 hours of your shop.

        • +2

@tightarse: I hope you're right, but last time the points were only allocated on the 13/12/17, which was well over a month after I'd tapped.

    • +2

Maybe a stupid question, but how the heck do I delete it?

      • +2

Bring up the rewards card in the wallet, press the i button (bottom right hand corner) & select 'Remove Pass.'

        • +5

There was no option to 'Remove Pass' for me. I just realised it's because I was accessing it from the lock screen (double tapping Home button). If I unlock the phone and access the Wallet app directly, it works. Thank you!

  • +1

This works really well, I’m really impressed !

    • +2

You're meant to select the "I am associated" checkbox when commenting.

      • +1

Ha ha, no. But it actually works ! Has mine on Stocard but it was useless, this way is way better & ive chucked the actual card !

  • +1

When I press "Add to Apple Wallet" I get an error saying could not process your request. Not working for me. Could this be because my itunes account registered is for use in another country?

    • I’ve had this exact problem, every time, over the last month or more. Never works.

      • I used to have this problem, but it just worked then when i typed the address in manually

    • I was having a similar problem though in my case it just timed out with no error. Didn't work on multiple attempts over months.

I called up about it and they and her manager had absolutely no idea but sometime soon after she "verified" my details (which didn't change) at the start of the call it just started working.

So maybe try call up and even if they have no idea, loading your account up at their end might fix it?

  • When I add Rewards card to Apple Wallet, it asks for security code which has 4 digits. Where do I get it from? The card itself doesn’t have a 4 digit code anywhere on it.

    • +3

Wouldn't it be your passcode from the phone?

      • +1

        :D

      • Nope. I figured you just can’t add it that way. It needs to be added through the link in Woolworths email or through the link you see when you login into Rewards account. How weird and un-friendly!

  • I Could now scan to add my Woolies card into Apple Wallet. Anyone has same problem ?
I tried to scan the real card and also print out. Dont know what happens.

    • I'm also getting error when adding the woolies card to wallet app.

    • +1

you cant add it through the wallet app, you have to go into the woolworths website and add it from there (you can click a link from the emails they send you also).

  • Sorry but I was hoping if one of you tech guru's can help me on how to add the card to apple wallet please? I open my wallet click add sign but it only seems to want to add credit cards etc and then when I add it manually it says card not eligible. I also downloaded the Woolies app as it was in suggested for apple wallet but cannot find the option of add to wallet.

    • +1

Open this website on your phone & log in to your rewards account. Then click 'add to apple wallet.'

      • +1

        Thank you - that worked.

  • +1

    Added, thanks OP.

  • +1

Used it today using Apple Wallet and didn’t get 500 Rewards points. I guess I will have to wait until 16th March as per the fine prints of this offer.

  • Going to add it to get the 500 points, then removing it. Prefer using stocard so I can cycle through the card that currently has the better offer.

  • Can you add more than 1 edr card to the same iPhone

  • +2

Hey guys just double check you got your bonus points. I didn't, I had to call them this morning because the online chat never connected. They said I will have my points in 24 Hours.
