AMD Ryzen 5 2400G/3 2200G CPU with Vega 11/8 Graphics ($215.20 / $140 Shipped) @ Shopping Express Clearance

Long time lurker, first time posting.

Came across this listing an hour before midnight on Friday 09/02/2018

This price will most likely increase next week (on official release) so it isn't a bad idea to jump the gun over the weekend, especially if you have been itching for a very capable SFF/HTPC/Mini Gaming PC on a budget. It is also quite a treat for those waiting out over current dGPU prices and need a stop-gap.

Ryzen 5 2400G here for $215.20
Ryzen 3 2200G here for $140

      Ryzen 5 2400G uses Vega 11, Ryzen 3 2200G uses Vega 8

      11/8 to shorten the title for both

        • +6

          Oh, you mean - why not APU?

          Mainly because AMD appear to be ditching the acronym altogether

          It's technically a CPU with Vega graphics anyway, so it's not too bad of a naming convention

          Not the point

          Why be so rude about it, say what you think it should be.

          @alejcho:
          Yes but its not an extra peripheral, the title makes it sound like it comes with gpu/apu

        • +5

          @Ozvalue: But it does come with a GPU… an iGPU named 'Vega 11/8'… not Vega 56/64 which are the only other Vega GPU's which are dGPU's…

          @Ozvalue: Sorry mate, I don't speak broken sense

          @Ozvalue: We got ourselves a live one boys!

          @alejcho:
          Ok that explains the post. Its integrated, not an extra GPU as your post suggests

    Fair price, considering the US release price of 2400G is US$169 (excl tax), which is ~AU$211 so fairly close to the $215.20 price (although lol, only after a discount we can get similar pricing to US).

    Thanks OP for posting =)

    (edit: just to also note, the US release price of 2200G is US$99 (excl tax), which is ~AU$124)

  • Really tempting but I want to see benchmarks on the GPU part first as I'm wondering if it's worth getting one to hold out until GPU prices drop. I'm currently using a 5750 and an 8320 so it would be an upgrade but I don't know if I can afford 16gb RAM yet and a single stick will destroy iGPU performance :/

    • I'm going to guess the Vega 11 is about the performance of a GTX 560 @ stock, if the mobile version is any guide.

  • Are there any motherboards that can do 4 x digital video outs? Would be a good replacement for my i5-3xxx + GF730.

    As my earlier comment, it looks like this is impressive for built-in graphics, but you're probably looking at low settings on most games to get an acceptable frame rate.

  • Futu Online have the same deal at the moment - 10+ in stock $215 incl delivering using Present20 (Dam they just updated it, so no deal)
