Wow, sure beats my E8400, though USB 4.0 would be nice.

    • +20

Time travel would also be a great idea.

While there’s no official release date for USB 4.0, the standard is speculated to be announced in 2020…

Good find stuhtb, thanks for posting!

  • Love these posts. Good for those who don't know how or can't be bothered prebuilding their own builds and isn't RGB-Galore.

    • +6

I just tried to build a similar spec PC this arvo (without Windows OS) and it came to $2,200, can you please teach me how to build a system with a similar spec like this Dell PC with a similar price tag?

      • +9

Did I say you could build it cheaper? Nope. However, these posts ALWAYS attract someone saying No deal, MSY is cheaper without any proof.

      • When we built my husband's new gaming PC, we ordered all the parts from Amazon US. I'm from the US and had a feeling they'd be cheaper even with the shipping and conversion rate. And it was - $1600 vs like $2300 on PC Case Gear.

Just make sure that if your order is over $1000 you split it into two orders or you'll have to pay import tax.

      • +1

well i whipped up something real quick to match this things specs and it came to $1900 including windows. The main problem with prebuilts though is you can never be sure of things like the quality of the power supply and how easy/hard it is to upgrade in the future. If you don't plan on doing too much to the insides of the machine in the future then a prebuilt like this is fine though.

PC parts prices are crazy right now so this is a really good deal. I built a similar PC about a year or so ago and now just about every item costs more than it did back then and not by a small amount either. I paid $180 for 32GB of G.Skill ram at the time, now you would have to pay almost $600 for 32GB of Ram.

Screw investing in Bitcoin, I'm getting into the RAM market!

Go old school and make PCIe RAM disks!

The Dell optiplex is a better deal :p

    • That's out of stock, i was considering it

    Thanks stuhtb gonna broden this

  • really good price

  • Does anyone know:
1: Is it an NVME M.2 Drive? or
2: Does the motherboard support NVME M.2, how many slots

Sooooo tempting. Would like a beefier PSU and 3000MHz RAM, as well as 500GB m.2 SSD, for maybe $2k, but damn this is good value for today's market.

    • Mentions M.2 in the description (256GB M.2 SATA SSD (Boot)). Also…. "up to 4 storage devices for future upgrades (2 HDD, 1 SSD, 1 M.2)."

      • Yes but doesn’t specify between the faster nvme m.2 and the slower sata m.2. Potentially a deal breaker for some I would imagine.

        • Sorry, didn’t read your reply properly, thanks, so it is SATA :(

    • Description says m.2 SATA which means it is not NVMe. Couldn't find info on nvme support tho. Your last resort could be a pcie card.

    • I think its safe to assume if they don't mention NVMe then it is not, since it is a major selling point.

Estimated between Tue. 27 Feb. and Tue. 10 Apr.

Wow can potentially be a long wait :D

  • This is a hidden Alienware. 😁

  • how much for the 1080 version?

    I saw a 1070 going for $999 at Mwave - Crazy!

  • Seems to be the same specs as the XPS version?

    • Yea, exactly what I was thinking, so like, how does this compare to it?

      • From comment below it seems this is a full size case.. I would assume it would have better cooling then. Also it seems this one has usb type C. My Last gen XPS didn't have that.

  • Any decent prebuilts that are cheaper? Roughly around 1-1.2k range? Just for some light gaming and general use.

  • almost same specs as DELL XPS8930 but Inspiron5675 is better
because this is Full Size Tower Desktop

    • Ah true. It must have better cooling then.

    • and slightly slower RAM ( 2400MHz vs XPS8930 2666Mhz )

  • Can a Corsair TX650M be swapped into this case?
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Corsair-TX-M-Series-Modular-TX65…

  • Possible to upgrade to nvme ssd ?

  • What monitors would you guys recommend?

This is the one I just bought from eBay ($672) - ASUS MG279Q 27" IPS-LED, WQHD16:9, 2560x1440(DP), 4ms, 144Hz. It's got really good review on TFTCentral, a really good pick for gaming + general use and IMO will last very long due to IPS + 1440p + 144hz.

  • hope to get this before easter.

  • Bugger. This deal just seduced me to buy it on spotty phone reception travelling to a far away beach (wife was driving)

Solves my DDR3, gtx960 and 2500k upgrade deadlock I had some forum help on. May move over PSU and 2TB black caviar into this baby.

    • U gonna sell ur old PC? Looking for a low end one.

  • I wonder what the actual RAM speed is, two different speeds mentioned on the eBay website.

    • +1

Contacted Dell, they said it was the 2400 MHz

      • Good work

  • +1

Do you have to pay import taxes because it is outside Australia? Over $1k..?

    • I was wondering the same thing :/

    • +1

Contacted Dell, they said "there are no additional charges or import fees, all costs are included with the price of the machine" despite being sent overseas

  • +1

    Sorry guys, just noticed this now, however there a two different models shown in the listing. The one in the thumbnail doesn't exactly match the description in regards to the front ports, as it doesn't show any Type-C ports;

    Front Ports
    1x Audio Combo Jack
    1x SuperSpeed USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™
    1x SuperSpeed USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A
    2x USB 2.0

The one shown in the description matches the specs as it has 3 USB-A ports, 1 Type-C port and 1 audio jack. If this is the case, then the model name may actually be Inspiron 5680. I will update the title/description once someone who receives the product confirms the above details.

    • When did you ever become power user?

  • +1

Has anyone received their order yet?

    • I got mine today! Haven't unpacked it yet though

      • Strange question but would you be able to tell us if it comes with a power cord? I've heard that they don't ship with one.

        • +2

Yeah, there's a power cord! That would be weird if it came without one but they're pretty cheap anyway.

      • Do they have water cooling as per the pictures or just air cooled? and if you wouldn't mind telling us brand of the 1070 and motherboard model? pics if you could!

Same sale on again now and you'd be helping a lot of us out!

        • I don't really want to crack it open unfortunately, lol. I think it may void the warranty.

There is no water cooling at least.

        • @deebrie: if youre not comfortable thats fair but I've checked with them and you can open and swap any part without voiding your warranty - they will simply not cover anything that did not come with the pc initially (ie new gfx card)

          Copy of reply: https://pasteboard.co/H8EIa6P.png

        • @deebrie: it won't void warranty

  • +1

Just arrived - shipping was super fast. Thanks OP.
