  • Anyone compared this to a UE Megaboom?

  • Kogan voucher detail mentions it can be used for Kogan Mobile plans only. Has anyone tried to see if it actually works?

    • +1

I bought the 120-50 one, worked for me for xb20 + other stuff I purchased with xb20

      • Just bought. Thanks a lot :)

  • does Kogan allow us to Combine two vouchers?

    $139-$30(use https://goo.gl/G3WuTy)=$109-$20 (use https://goo.gl/TPL5b7)=$89+$2.99(Voucher)+$5(Voucher, only 5 left)=$96.99

Doesn't charge by USB so you have to carry a DC+AC Adaptor around with it. There are 3rd party USB cables available to suit the power port but I prefer the UE speakers because Micro USB cables are easy and everywhere.

    • I actually had a good think about it. And it wouldn't be a big deal for me. Howvee. Apparentlt the new xb31 are us b charging

  • Does anyone know the eta on the $20.
The 30 come in instantly. The 20 not processed by the seller. I have messaged them.

Don't want to miss out on the Sony.
Anyone already got and received the 20

    • You can try search on other deals on 20 off 100 on ebay, and ask for a refund for the $5 one

      • Ive already bought the 20… No joy yet

    • Ignore my winge. The $20 has arrived in approx 1 hr.
stacked the 2 with free delivery
      $89. Good buy. Thanks

  • Did u get evoucher instantly? I bought one from ebay 20mins ago and have not received any voucher email yet

    • I got the 50-120 instantly after purchase, try messaging them?

      • thanks, will msg them

    • 30 within minutes
      20 no joy yet

      • There are plenty speakers left, don't panic and carry a towel

        • Hope so. Bad experience with Kogan. Bought a note 5 early days for 1000ish. Didnt arrive. did paypal dispute, They both basically laughed at me and kept my cash. No phone and a hot poker up my ass,
          Courier surely pocketed it.
          Oh no signature for delivery.

        • @australiabpo: That's sad to know :(

        • @XanderYuan:
Approx yr before when I bought my normal nickle and dime stuff (Ozbargain of coarse) I signed a leave without signature authorisation.
Forgot about it so when I buy something that matters $$$'s. went missing. Courier used that to get out of it so got Fxxked by that.
          Stupid Stupid Stupid.

Funny that I have sig on everything now and NO ONE gets me to sign. Dont even get asked. 4gb drive arrived today in my letterbox today. Like a ticking time bomb

        • +1

@australiabpo: >4gb drive arrived today in my letterbox today.

When did you order that? 2010? Long wait for delivery …

        • @MorriJ:
No bud. Ebay 20% off promo.
Point is. It needs signature and they just put in the box.
I have a parcel box at the front. About 1 in 10 purchases end up on top of the bloody thing.

        • @australiabpo: Signature on delivery is a bit antiquated with the safe drop rules now. If the sender isnt specifying it cannot be safe-dropped; it gets delivered without signature.

Which parcels are eligible for Safe Drop?
Signature parcels are eligible for Safe Drop when:
the sender provides your contact details
          the sender allows Safe Drop
there’s a safe place to leave your parcel
Please note, while we'll do our best to leave your delivery in your preferred location, it isn't always possible. Not all addresses are suitable for this service (e.g. apartments, PO Boxes or Parcel Lockers). If your parcel will be exposed to weather or too visible to passing traffic, we'll take it to a local Post Office for you.

I think you will find the senders are not opting out of safe-drop allowed, which means even when they pay the extra $$$ for signature, it doesnt get signed for.

What they get is proof of delivery and if a dispute arises a photograph of where the item was left, the date and time + gps co-ordinates.

Safe-drop is used more often than it should be as well. I opted out of safe-drop with Aus Post, they still drop parcels and run now :(

I want the extra treble version though….

I'll let Xiaomi know no worries.

  • so the UE mega boom is $245 can I use two 50 vouchers to buy it for $145 ?

    • the 50 one is just 20 and 30 sold together…

      • So i cant stack to get $100 off the UE boom ?

  • +1

Thanks OP, bought a 2nd one of this speaker. Got one last time for ~$120 from Myer sale and loving it so far, it's going to be great pairing them together to as dual speakers.

    • +1

      I'm glad I helped :)

They will play together but not as L/R

      • +1

Yes they do play in stereo when paired.

        • +1

Didn’t know. I thought Sony only had the party chain mode and not the L/R mode. Thanks

        • +1

@Dealayed: Sorry for the neg, just wanted to make sure people get they right info so they can make an informed buying choice. Sounds pretty awesome in stereo mode judging by the YouTube video. I have one of these and very tempted to get another. I do find that it needs a bit of EQ tweaking to get the best sound though, but the Sony Music Centre App is pretty cool and allows sound EQ adjustment that actually gets stored into the speaker, so even if you connect the speaker with another device, the EQ settings are maintained. The app also lets you control the lights, pairing with other speakers and heaps of other stuff. Pretty cool. This is one of the reasons I chose this over the JBL Charge 3.

        • @billy_bob: No worries. Yes I do have the bigger brother xb40 and love it. Tempted to get another now that I know it can be used as L/R channel, but will stick to 1 for now. Always thought the LR feature was only available in UE.

  • this is the first time ive seen a kogan discount voucher let alone on ebay,

it says its stackable, as well, so sure I cant use the $30 off vouchers as well as teh $50 one???

    • +1

The "$50 one" consists of a $20 and a $30 vouchers, and its system only allows single voucher denominations.

      • I see
Im.also about to renew my kogan phone plan
Can i stack two of these 50 ones for a $240 purchase?

        • +1

Please read what I wrote again. $50 = $30 + $20 vouchers. Each denomination of voucher can only be used once per transaction.

You just missed the sale in Dec 2017, where Kogan had 40% across the Prepaid plans. Many people bought the $100 gift card at 15% discount and combine with this $50 voucher to bring it down to a irresistible deal.

My advice is to stay on the monthly switcheroo method until a better deal/discount comes along. If you can be bothered, that is.

        • @sky blu:
          Thanks for that appreciate it

          Edit: is it this deal?

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/359466
Am looking at the 16gb plan.
Do i could use the $50 off and kogan gift vouchers from woolworths for abother 5% off?

        • +1

@hellohello123: oh looks like it's still available. I bought the 365-day prepaid 16GB on that too.

        • @sky blu:

          Awesome!!!
Such a great deal. And with these discounts. Its ridiculous value

        • +1
  • This is a great deal and blows the ue and other brands out of the water in terms of price and sound quality.

    • I don't think it can beat Dostyle SD806 in terms of price and sound quality IMO.

  • Got my speaker today and to use it looks excellent but major issue.
WTF does it have a 1980's power pack for. Seriously, Why is it not charged with at USB-c or at least a mini USB like the rest of the world. The fact that it comes with a power pack, I feel like putting it in the bin. FB buy and sell it goes. NO WAY im adding power packs to the house, Ive been trying to get away from that for years.

2nd to that. What is the equivalent speaker with a real charging options as above.

Sony you suck!!! $89 is pretty cool price though.

  • Product is Sold out. Please update..

    • white and red instock

      • cool. Link needs to be updated. Good gift.

  • FYI everyone, the kogan xb30 for $139 + postage is backup,
so if hte $50 off kogan vouchers are still avaiailbe, its under $100 for a damn good speaker
