hmm they must tailor it to spend habits, i haven't used my account in a year or so, so maybe its an enticement to purchase again

    • me too

    • At least you got something

  • -1

    Targeted.

  • I just made another new account this morning. Will see if I get this or the 20% deal going around or nothing.

  • What was the title of the email?

    • mine was titled '$20 off your next purchase, Kosh'

  • Only got 1 which was 5 off.. But found i had an expired 10% code lol

  • Can confirm I got the $20 off too. It was an account I haven't used for at least a year.

  • I got 3 accounts, none of them were targeted :(

    • same here

What's the point in posting these targeted deals?

    • +7

so people would check their ebay accounts?

    • +3

Might prompt you to check that email account you never use for the ebay account you never use.

    • +5

That's the whole point of eBay sending emails to their targeted users. We don't need to go check OzBargain, they'll tell those it applies to. So there's little benefit posting it here.

holy shit finally ebay recognise my loyalty!!

    • +8

Seems like people who haven’t used their account for the whole year are being targeted with this deal. If that’s true then how is this a recognition of loyalty when potentially you were shopping everywhere other than eBay?

Rather a recognition of loyalty should be to reward customers who have spent / made a fair few purchases in the year on eBay.

      • my last purchase was in October which is less than a "whole year"

      • Beautifully said.

how to enable ebay promo ?

  • -1

    I got nothing as usual

  • +3

None of my 23 accounts were targeted. so sad

    • +2

That's a lot of accounts, either you've been identified as a multi-account user or it's time to create a few more accounts in the hope that you get there offer next time.

      • either you've been identified as a multi-account user

What do you do if this happens?

    • How do you even make 23 accounts that aren't contacted to some sort of ID that would out you as to having 23 accounts?

      Thanks :)

I got $10 no min spend.
Considering getting the Oral B precision vitality electric toothbrush.
I've never used an electric, but my dentist yesterday recommended i use one…
Bugger i missed the shaver shop deal for $9.95!

  • +2

Didn't get anything of either of my accounts :/

  • +4

1 of my 6 accounts got $10 off $20 spent. Not bad, but I should make more accounts.

    • I agree, but it's a pita trying to keep track of them all and making sure that the spender profile of each account remains distinct so that they can't connect the accounts based on spending behaviour.

      • +1

If they cared that much, they'd probably realise due to the large number of accounts created around the same time from the same IP that something is up.

Their T&C's state that multiple accounts are allowed, and they don't give a limit on how many, but it probably is best to be smart like you are so they don't stop sending offers, but there shouldn't be any need to use all of the accounts. Also, even if the spending profiles are similar to an extent, they'd probably put that to being a family with similar interests to each other, as long as you don't buy speaker mounts for a certain brand of speaker bought on another account or something else like that.

        • The most ebay would do is probably to stop sending you targeted vouchers.

I created a new account 2 weeks ago and an email came through today with a unique code of 20% off the first purchase.

    • Did you link that new account to a payment method before getting that code?

  • Don’t post this again as I never receive these codes

    • +2

You obviously don't have enough accounts.

  • +1

    Holy cow
