man why do fridges cost so much in this country?

oh wait. I nearly forgot where I lived.

    • Atleast you dont have to buy one every year, atleast I dont think you should be

  • Tried it on the Apple TV 4K which has already been discounted to $237 but it doesn't seem to work..?

It is not in the exclusions list..

    • I believe Apple TV belongs to "TV accessories"

  • Thanks Sony 55" 4k HDR TV (KD55X8500E) now $1345. Friends has this TV, it is great and he paid just under $3K when it came out last year. So close to pressing the button, was holding off for a 20% Goodguys ebay deal but not sure when will happen..

    • How does the KD55X7000E stack up against the 8500E?
I'm very tempted to grab the 7000E at $995 delivered

      • Not sure apart from HDR. I saw the 8500E is a hundred dollars cheaper in Retravision and also they offer 5% discount for signing up to newsletter making cheaper that Good guys deal.

The Good Guys have started that practice of jacking up prices before a sale as well. Fridges are a prime example, and even after a discount, the prices are high.

  • Lenovo Tab 4 is a household item, I use it to connect to the internet of things so I can know when to buy eggs, unfortunately not included in this 10% off

  • Any recommendations on a dishwasher? Mine just broke and we can’t find replacement parts for it. It was in the house when we moved in and probably >10 years old. Budget is around $1k but can go higher if it’s worth it.

    • I like the Miele we got under two years ago, just the basic model. I honestly can't speak for other washers, cheaper or even more expensive, but this particular model you could feel the quality and the parts look like they would last. Some of the washers we looked at seemed flimsy, regardless of where they were made. Would a Korean or Japanese brand be as good? Probably. I certainly have no qualms with fridges, and our clothes washer is a Samsung front loader.

Compared to some of the other designs, I'd check for the number of jets - eg my Mum-in-law's I was surprised to find had no jets from the top, only under the upper and lower trays. You'd also want to see how easy you could organise the trays. But as you already use one, that could give you more of an idea than when we went looking. Ours doesn't have a delayed start, but apart from that, it's been very solid.

I was rather amused to read about how this dude only realised the top tray was adjustable for height. We never had that problem as for one, the salesman pointed that out at from the start, but secondly, Miele had the release mechanism coloured differently so you'd know right away. It's a simple thing, but much appreciated.

  • hmmm… looking at the x6700 sony 60" tv but FOMO is making me hesitate and think about waiting for an ebay sale haha
