    lol
Android 4.4 what the…. That was released in October 2013.

    • Maybe it could be upgradeable to Marshmallow or Nougat!?

    • At least it will like a PC

Much cheaper than GearBest who want $104.43!!

    • GB haven't sold this product for ages. It's old as shit.

    Internal storage: 8GB Master Erasmus

I wouldn’t trust any storage called ‘Erasmus’!

    5 years in the planning?

  • This sort of thing should be able to be powered by your TVs USB port, yeh?

Turning on and off with your TVs power shouldn't be an issue?

    • Very good question. I'm not sure if TV has live (charging) USB ports.

Lemme get back to you on it.

If I recall, my SNES mini worked, I'm just trying to google to see the power draw on the SNES mini.

EDIT: Just checked my TV manual. Sammy plasma from 2009 or so and it states a USB device that requires more than 500mA or 5V may not be supported. Therefore as this shows it is 5V, I interpret that it should work, although just on the cusp.

    https://www.gearbest.com/tv-box/pp_715051.html

This eats this little stick for breakfast.. TV sticks aren't so common anymore.

    • That does good look. Unfortunately, I'm looking for something for a wall mounted TV, so for that purpose, a stick meets my needs :s

In saying that, I will look at the one, maybe I can just mount it onto the back of the TV.

I'm having difficulty getting past the android 4.4 OS.

    • Valid statement lol.

Might that be the manufacturer's Chinglish way of saying that is the minimum compatibility rather than maximum? A plus or "and later" would of course have been reassuring.

  • Only 8gb.
    Android 4.4.
    No 5GHz wifi.

    No deal.

    • Do you know of one in this form factor that has those features and/or is cheaper?

      • +2

age has nothing to do with a bargain?

    • I'm waiting for you to post a deal on a stick with 32GB RAM for us!

      • +1

It's 8GB of storage, not RAM.

        • Ah my bad. If it's about storage then it supports external cards up to 32GB and USB for mass storage.

        • @sky blu:

          Not helpful for installing apps.

RK3288 is a good processor but this is expensive for an old, no-name box. Plus, without Android 5+ you won't get Kodi working. If you want an RK3288 box, look at Ugoos' products
