  • Can't even do a quote atm - just sits with 2 little dots spinning after I click 'One adult'.

    • I just got a quote successfully

      • Might try my laptop. Chrome and IE didn't play ball for me.

        • I tried with my mobile (Chrome)

        • +3

I was able to successfully get quote for all products using chrome. I think life and funeral insurance is cheapest at $23 per month so you are looking at profit of $56 after 2 month cancellation.

  • +1

I was quoted $10.83/fortnight - though a few bucks dearer when paying monthly for some reason.

    • Not really, it works out the exact same amount when paid monthly. $10.83 x 26 / 12 = $23.47 per month.

    • For customers paying monthly the 2 months premium paid is calculated as follows:
      Annual premium/12 months multiplied by 2. For Example: $1,000 Annual Premium/12x2= $167.00

For customers paying fortnightly, the two month premium is calculated as follows:
      Annual premium/26 fortnights multiplied by 4 = 2months. For Example: $1000 Annual Premium/26=$38.46 x 4fortnightly payments equals to $153.86

The offer for the tablet is specifically the Lenovo Tab 3 A7-10 7" model that's currently on sale @ JBHIFI for $98. The movie ticket option is only valid for
Event or Village cinemas - Hoyts is not included. The conditions state that delivery of the gift can take up to 28 business days after the option has been selected.

I got income protection down to $9.04 per fortnight.

Just put a fake low income.

    • And Income Protection is tax deductible too …

    Funeral Insurance … $3,150 for $5.90
(Probably varies on age, sex, etc)

& you're all invited if I need it.

    • I think birthday present for Mrs OzBargain is sorted.
Hmm, maybe she would like a little funeral coverage too …

Hmm, maybe she would like a little funeral coverage too …

        Buying gifts is so hard!

  • I think most ozbargainers would go straight for the giftcard and I'd like to confirm that this is 100% the best option. The tablet is stuck on android 5.0. If you want a tablet, get the giftcard and buy the new version of this tablet on android 7.0 from good guys for $99.

  • Did anyone receive any email confirmation of the insurance? I haven't received any email.

  • +2

Guys, use the new Firefox, take the funeral cover and select the lowest amount that is offered to you on the meter - comes out to roughly $5.90 per fortnight like mrbenj said. This gives you a nice profit of close to 80 dollars if you choose the visa debit :)

What are people's experiences with receiving the $100 gift card this time? My 60 days is up tomorrow then I will call to find out.

If it's anything like the previous Insuranceline deal we might receive an SMS with claim details, and after we make that claim then it's OK to cancel the policy

    • +1

UPDATE: I called Insuranceline today (137787). Pressed option 5 for 'enquiry about an existing policy'. Was on hold for ~10mins before a nice lady answered. I asked about my eligibility -> she checked my policy then put me through to the 'prize team'. Another minute on hold before another nice lady asked me which offer I would like… the $100 gift card of course :) She advised they will registered post it to me. May take up to 28 business days to arrive but should arrive sooner, the gift card will be dispatched in 1.5 weeks and I will receive an email once dispatch has occurred. Total 18 minutes on the phone, nice CSRs, was a very easy process.

The T&Cs say that after becoming eligible you will be sent an email, SMS or letter, however I never received anything. I recommend those that haven't received anything call when you can.

      • +1

was wondering about this, and the SMS came in an hour ago. it directs you to www.insurancelinebonus.com.au and you fill in your details and your gift selection, simple and smooth process.

        • +1

Yeah, an hour ago I received the same SMS as you. Wasn't sure if it came because I called and prompted it or not. Smooth process

  • +1

SMS received, clicked link, selected $100 - easy. Now to cancel.

    • Hey Infidel, just wondering if you've cancelled yours? Was the cancellation process easy?

      • +2

        Info on options to cancel:
        https://www.insuranceline.com.au/existing-customers/cancelli…

Do ASAP as has taken 2 business days to process so far. Ring to confirm has been cancelled - as they suggest above.

        Emailed cancellation on 12/4 @8am:
        Please CANCEL Policy #xxxxxxxx
        Name, DOB, Address
        No longer required.
        Please confirm cancellation.
        Thanks

        They replied 7hr later:
We have passed your request onto the relevant department and an Insurance Representative will be in contact with you.
Have heard nothing. Insurers can be slow.

Had registered on their site & just checked policy details:
Status In Force - so not cancelled yet😞
Set to bill me on 24/4!
Will call them in a few days if doesn't show as cancelled.

        • So this is done right when the 2 months (60 days) was up and after you received thr notification about selecting your choice of the reward? I.e. the gift card and doesn't matter of it takes up to 28 days to issue according to T&Cs?

It'd be great if you could please update here re your case. I'll get in on this today 😊

        • +1

          @sky blu:
Yes - cancel after receiving SMS & redeemed reward. Then wait (up to 28 days) for the Postie to deliver.

          Will update.

        • @Infidel: Thanks. So all up $5.90 x 4 (minimum)?

        • +1

          @sky blu:
          SMS arrived after 5 $5.90 payments😞

Guess earlier comments that fortnightly would be cheaper than monthly were incorrect. 2 months is longer than 4 fortnights so billed for 5 before qualified for reward. $3.93 wasted😭

        • +2

@Infidel: LOL you are a true Ozbargainer.

        • +2

          @sky blu:
          Such a compliment!
Could have bought 4 Zapals deals with the money I wasted😭
Will console my sorrow & shame when the $100 arrives😁

          @sky blu:
Please send credit card details to unlock the 🌟Premium Service🌟

        • @Infidel: hey I don't think the monthly option would work - you'd have to start off with the first month ($12.78) let's say 17/04/18 (1st month) then on $12.78 again the same date 17/05 (2nd month) so by the end of 2nd month (~60 days) you'd have to wait for the SMS thing but then the payment for the 3rd month will take place 17/06.

So 5 x fortnightly would work, not monthly(?)

        • @sky blu:
Straight after 2nd month payment, SMS would be sent. Plenty of time to cancel before following monthly payment. $25.56 monthly vs $29.50 weekly.

Too late now. Moved on to new deals while waiting for the $100.

        • @Infidel: No, the problem here is payment is required upfront. So 17/04 ($12.78) for the first 30 days then 17/05 ($12.78) for the next 30 days. On 17/06 that would be the end of 60 days, do you see the problem?

        • @sky blu:
Busy with more important financial matters at the moment to consider something I won't be using again.
But upfront may be an issue as you point out.

        • @Infidel: yeah I'm just too serious lol

        • @sky blu:
I've been thrust into managing my broader family's finances - life has become very serious. Being audited by a Government body to ensure I do the right thing by family - with penalties & costs if I do the wrong thing. Now that's ridiculously serious😱
          I usually don't take things seriously😁

        • @Infidel: so you were not doing the right thing before?

        • @sky blu:
          It's complex… No!
Unfortunately I am not the only one with serious matters like this.

My Father is ill, so I've legally taken over all family financial matters - as he wished. I consult him on decisions. I am very careful with the family money.

          @sky blu:
Thanks. Was too long, complex & personal!

I don't think I can take more valuable life experiences😱
Have had many, but won't elaborate here.

Lessons learnt in situations (like my current one), that you'll never be in again, are a bit of a waste of time. Only of use to warn others or handy if can be adapted to more general situations.

          Have a good night🌛

          $100 being posted out
          Policy cancellation confirmation

  • +1

Emailed to cancel 3 business days ago.
    Heard nothing.
Rang to confirm policy has been cancelled.

Yes, it is being cancelled (low priority).
    Importantly, payments are cancelled immediately.

Was asked why I was cancelling…
    Just give me the money💰

    • Ok, so the policy is being cancelled, but payment (direct debit) has been ceased from date of the request. Is this correct?

      • If you can believe their salesman - yes.

        • Lol I'm scared now, should I do this or not.

        • +1

          @sky blu:
          Was joking😀

There would be no rush to cancel.

It's paid up front (as some nice person commented!), so policy is valid until next payment date.

So if you die of accidental causes by then - they pay out💰 (Hurry up Ozbargainers to get more free money!)

(And you may change your mind & decide to keep paying! So policy may sit there for a while.)

Main thing is no further payments!

        • @Infidel: Wut it was me dude.

Anyway, maybe you should consider keeping the Funeral insurance given your current positive financial position and the newly appointed responsibility.

        • +1

          @sky blu:
          I know - called you a nice person😀

Salesman agreed I am a most unlikely candidate for their policies, given my personal circumstances.

Funeral insurance may be of benefit to (part) pay for the unexpected expenses when someone close dies. That does not fit my circumstances.

        • There's only a need for so much money. I am often happier without it.

My times with very old people (around 100) in Southern Japan has taught me they think it is better to leave the table still hungry after a meal. Their adult children eat fast goods, get obese & die much younger.

Comfort is often the enemy of thought & innovation.

        • @Infidel: Read it. Please teach me. I don't wanna work!

        • @sky blu:
          And it's gone.

I am suspicious or envious of those who really want to work. Many convince themselves they love work (maybe to avoid real life & issues they can't handle), and others turn their love of doing things into a wonderful source of income (they would do their work, even if not paid).

It is a great privilege to have helped people through the dying process. I meet strangers on my travels who have never told anyone they are dying - sharing is a slow and wonderful process most have no time for.

When I die, my money is destined to continue my occasional (volunteer) activities improving the lives of people living in poverty. Am designing a trust.

        • +1

@Infidel: But you got on this deal…

        • @sky blu:
Bargains are a fairly harmless game for me. The thrill of getting something for almost nothing often hooks even the richest person. I'm hooked, but honest I could stop at any time (the addicts response)😱

          On to the next deal!

        • @Infidel: Nice comeback.

Well PM me when you decide to share your wealth (of knowledge). I work hard but I really just want to work smart.

It was a good question - sky blu therapist😊

Sometimes the wonders of life are discovered though its inconsistencies and anomalies.
          Not enough people go there.

          Same answer as before😀
My students complained to the University about my response to their anxiety ridden questions when I was off duty (eg at student parties) - "the clock is running"😱
