  • Does anyone use this on Optus or an Optus reseller in Brisbane and can comment on connectivity regarding no B28?

    • I could be wrong but thought B28 was a telstra thing not optus

    • My son has Xiaomi Redmi note 2, no band 28, works OK in metro places and he hasn't had issues, except when we were on holidays in some rural areas (tried telstra and optus sim), band 28 worked on my phone, band 28 travels further from the tower and around things, my phone worked fine on band 28 in these remote areas his xiaomi didn't…. didn't try voice call, only data as he ended up tethering of my V20.

    • Only band 28 Xiaomi phones from memory are the "Kate" version of the note 3 pro, and the Mi note 2.

      So no, no band 28.

      • -2

He didn't ask if it has B28.

        • I stand corrected. Read op post wrong

Would this be a better phone for the price? Im so confused with all these xaomi phones

    • The Redmi is running MIUI. I would avoid until (if), there's a LinesageOS rom for it.

    • +1

I prefer the look and size of the 5 plus, you'll find they are pretty similar in terms of specs though. I don't mind MiUI, but a lot of people are drawn to this phone due to the fact it's running Android one.

  • I want to buy this 1, worry Rose Gold color, my wife might take it from me :-( Probably wait for black version

    • +2

what makes you think your wife isn’t into black also?

    • I prefer the white front on the two gold versions. Stick a coloured case on the back and you're set.

  • Does it matter if you just get a case?

Edit: Noticed it has a white front though for the rose gold, which I'm not a fan of.

    • dhl delivery?

  • Thanks OP! This will replace my 4 year old Samsung Galaxy S5.

  • +1

Probably prefer aliexpress over gearbest based on the countless complaints of dispatch times?

    • Aliexpress is just like eBay, completely depends on the seller.

      • I understand but after all the complaints I see posted on ozbargain regarding gearbest, I'd be avoiding.

    • Yes.

I ordered from GearBest last night and it hasn’t shipped.

However the order I did today from AliEpress has already shipped and trackable.

  • I agree

  • +1

DHL has texted me and I can track it. Right now it's processed in HK

received the phone in Perth, WA.

    • That was quick, enjoy the phone, you'll love it!

    • I just got a text saying that DHL will deliver it between 2:30-9pm today. I cannot wait!

    • That's damn quick. I ordered from the slightly cheaper LightInTheBox deal on the same day for delivery to Perth. I bet I'll be waiting another week or two :(

      • I got mine at 18:25 last night. The DHL shipping was definitely a reason why I liked this deal better.
