  • Don’t forget your 5% off wish gift cards!

  • I’m staying away from dyson’s

    Lol

    • may I ask why?

      • +1

        Not really a fan.
        Suction was overated.
Battery is bad (does not last long).

And once the internals gets clogged (which happes so often for me..), becomes really messy to clean.

        Thats just me.
Not sure about other people, as i know a lot of people love dyson products.

(This is from the fact that i have to completely disassemble my dyson to remove some debris stuck earlier today to remove the clog)

I have the cheaper V6 handstick.

        • Very overrated. Used them for years and switched to a Miele. Convinced family to switch too, they were hesitant at first, after 2 minutes of using it on the carpet they can't go back. Granted, I'm not talking about portables, Dyson probably has the best portable vac. It's a shame that all their stuff is average quality plastic and very pricey.

      • Compare a Miele C3 Cat & Dog (can be had for $450) vs equivalently priced Dyson. It is night and day.

Unlike some others we are big Dyson fans. Suctions not bad at all and other than the bin being annoying to clean the unit works great.

Sure Miele may have stronger suction and need to be cleaned out less often, but you also need to drag the unit around and deal with a cord. The Dyson gets used way more than our old vacuum as spot cleans are a 30 sec task and doing the entire house is more efficient too to the point that the 20 minute battery life isn’t a concern (3 bed, 2 living + dining house).

We had a Miele unit but for the convenience I don’t think we’d move away from cordless. Just so convineint.

  • I thought I might've seen this around for $299 around Christmas - i could be wrong though?

    • +1

V6 Slim was $299. This was still $349

      • cheers.

  • Have one.. battery is terrible, unusable as a primary vacuum, good for spot clean only.

  • The rocket duoclean is pretty impressive.
    Corded.
    Cheap.
    But… No HEPA filter.
    Great for homes with pets.

  • Do these maintain a decent charge or do you need to keep it plugged in when not in use?

    • +1

The battery lasts 20min and takes 3h to charge…you will want to keep it plugged in

      • +2

Additionally the chargers wall mountable. We stuck it alongside our washing machine in the laundry in a dead 1 foot gap, but otherwise a garage wall might be a good space for it.

      • Thanks. Charging for 3 hours isn't a biggy but having to keep in plugged in to maintain charge is a tun off.

  • Not available for purchase on-line or in a number of my local stores. Is this still a deal?

    • +1

Promotion ends on the 17th. I was told by a number of stores that these fly out the door when ever they're on sale so I think luck does come into it.

  • Does this work on thick carpets? Our Xiaomi Mi Robot cannot even go up from the timber flooring to the carpet so either I lift it to vacuum the carpet (also requires tape on the sensor) or clean it using another vacuum cleaner. I was wondering if this will work for us. Thanks!

  • Another $10 off with the HNY18 code - currently in shopping cart at $339

  • Despite this being marked as "expired" - I could still see the reduced price on Big W webpage on Fri 19/01.
I either got error "The amount you are adding to cart exceeds maximum allowed" (cart was 0, and was only adding 1!), or "This item is not available for purchase online".
So I thought i would visit Top Ryde, Sydney store in person and see what the situation was - the units were marked non-sale price $529 on the shop floor, but scanned at $349 at cash registers!

Thought i'd mention this in case others wanted to give it a shot at their local as well!
