    Hmmm…aren't umbrellas all waterproof?

    • Lolz.. yes… Teflon coated fabric… Whatever that means..

      • It means water runs off the fabric instead of soaking into it. Its useful when you close the umbrella you can easily shake off the water instead of having it drip everywhere inside your house or car.

        • Ok… Agreeing only because you said it nicely… ;-)

Whoa, this must be the product of the year! We have an umbrella that is WATERPROOF!!!

    • +1

Still does not top the biggest discovery last year of WIRELESS (aka battery power).
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/350151

    • Its made out of the same fabric I'm using in my teabag factory.

      • That's my favourite adult movie.

        • I'm confused, but don't want to ask.

        • @newdad: Teabag Factory

  • So is Amazon still just an eBay clone at the moment or what?

Ships from and sold by YCIT CO LTD.

  • is this better than xiaomi? anyone has both?

  • +1

I honestly find the Oroton automatic umbrellas pretty good especially when they were on special (<$20). Mine has lasted for about 5 years now and still in great condition. Always in my work bag in case it rains..

      This

      • +1

        That

  • how does this compare with this [https://www.amazon.com/Kolumbo-Travel-Umbrella-Non-breakable-Durability/dp/B01N2NFON5]

  • Wind Proof Frame is engineered with 10 steel ribs

Sounds a bit rust prone? Surely fibreglass or aluminium would be better for longevity?

    • The post mentions Lifetime Replacement Guarantee. May be we ask them if they replace rusted ones..?

  • aren't all umbrella designed to be waterproof??

    • new feature… maybe its IP68 … lol

  • Inverted Umbrellas are much sturdier and more windproof. I got to use a friend's one around a year ago and its so much better in many ways.

  • Lost my umbrella on sydney trains on the terrible tuesday so will give this a shot, thanks OP

    • Cool share feedback when you receive the actual product… Want to know comparative quality to Xiaomi

  • I been needing a new umbrella. My other old ones are either gone missing or broken. Thanks OP. Hopefully it lasts the distance!

    • +1

I was gonna say why people spend more than a few bucks for umbrellas when it would seem most people lose them on trains anyway.

I remember a guy at work says he never buys umbrellas, always go to the train station when it’s a rainy day and say you left your black umbrella on the train and if anyone returned it. They will always have some and ask which one, and u just pick the one u like lol.

Better to do that since, apparently, after a month of no one claims it it just gets chucked out, due to overload on lost property space.

      • Sounds like my career as an umbrella salesman has just begun

        • glad i could help. I found that story funny though, but can imagine it being so true.

  • Thanks OP. I needed a new umbrella after the last week in NSW.
Thanks also to stevieray for the link to the double canopy one which I bought.

  • I couldn't find a size, apart from "compact". My small (23cm) automatic brolly doesn't cover me and a backpack, so I pack the large (42cm) if it looks like rain.

    • This one shows a 40 inch diameter… Not sure whether that would be sufficient.

  • +1

No need. Found nice umbrella on train on Tuesday

  • IMHO, it's still overpriced. I got mine different brand but similar feature for $6 from my local store.

    • Wouldn't that mean even the Xiaomi one is also overpriced….?

      • +1

        Blasphemy!

  • Damn! just grabbed the xiaomi one with 35 day delivery… Am i better off just cancelling my LITB order and getting this one?

    • +1

This might help you make your decision - i have ordered this one from Amazon and the est arrival given in the order is between Jan 30 and Feb 14 - so pretty dismal too.

      • Stock from China most probably.

      • thanks!

  • Agree, was about to buy but can't get it for at least another 3 weeks so not going to bother. We need the drone delivery.

  • “Waterproof”. Ah, good thing it’s not the flyscreen version?

16 ribs and makes you feel like Mary Poppins cause it does feel like take off when the wind gets it.

Got it for $30 10 years ago. Still going strong.

  • Not a Xiaomi, not a deal. Do u even ozbargain m8?

    • Haah. 76 likes and 125 comments so far say otherwise mate… :) I know challenging something made by Xiaomi is blasphemy but all's fair for a bargain… ;-)

  • The selling point for me is found in the title "waterproof".

  • Now $1 cheaper at $20.99 AUD delivered from 'Lafamart' on Amazon AU.

  • Where does it say LIFETIME Warranty, I only see 30 days?
