  • Thanks OP, hope the quality is as good as the Ikea ones.

A while back I bought a set of these as they were dirt cheap, ive found (at least the batch i got) that the buttons feel extremely cheap. In saying that they do "a" job well, and are quite bright.

      • Thanks, got 1 :)

    • Ikea ones are motion sensor, though?

My girlfriend likes the fact that she can mount anywhere.

      Your girlfriend is a horse?

    • Ahh yes crutchless is where it's at. Especially since they can't get away too easy.

lol wireless. They just discovered batteries.

    • Haha … yep, "battery operated" is so 20th Century!

  • Thanks monty

  • those are crappy, trust me, I bought some last time. save your money

    • Even at this low low price I mean I know some spots in my house that would highly benefit from something like this in the meantime.

I'm talking rooms with zero wiring and no lighting.

      I.e renovation rooms

        you've been warned mate.

        • Ok I'll hold off but what is the worst that could happen. Not turn on? Explode? Loud noise?

If it doesn't work fair enough but if it gives a room even some visibility to pass through at night for a few years I'll be more than happy.

Right now downstairs half of the rooms have no lighting and I'm not an electrician by any means.

        • @AlienC: got these last time, one of them broken when opened. one I drop on the floor and you know what happened, I opened and used one of them and really disappointed, low quality, the rest I gave away or put it away somewhere.

Really crappy. Got five last time for $3/$5?, really regret!

  • Any cheap deals on AAA batteries?

    • Yeah, they are half price in woolies atm if you are after the stock standard ones.

  • thanx, got one for my son's loft bed.

  • Dumb question: can it work with 1 or 2 batteries? Im looking to add this to a cabinet shelf (which has low lighting already) and doesn't need it to be super bright.

No, you need all three batteries to complete the circuit

      • sriv, I've bought about 6 of these (exact same ones) from Reject Shop about 2 years ago.
I think it was $3 for a packet of 3 at the time.

They need three batteries, need to complete the circuit.
But if you want to dim it, you can insert 2 fresh batteries with 1 dying battery.
It should last almost (80% ?) as long as having 3 fresh ones… but will be more dim for the duration.
Its a little life-hack I used before I had eneloops.

  • thanks got 1!
