  • Could be a cheap way of getting to Thailand with a short stay in Singapore as a bonus.

      Hi Watchnerd,

Definitely: Flights to Phuket from Perth $273, Gold Coast $313, Sydney $333, Melb $358
      http://iwantthatflight.com.au/d12971-Flights-to-Phuket-from-…

Also flights to Greece from Perth $598, Gold Coast $638, Sydney $658, Melb $708

Anywhere else in Asia too. Hmmm.

      • +2

Yes Asia is awesome. I have only been to Thailand so far, but want to see the surrounding countries as well now.

        • +2

Yeah Thailand is great, but there are other places too. I lived in Indonesia for 18 months so I'm a little biased, some great spots if you know where to go. Some places in Vietnam are amazing.

        • @b2dz: share some suggestions?

        • @Sexysimon94:

Depends on what you're into. Jogja is pretty fun, some cool temples and museums and a bunch of things to do. Mount Bromo is also great, a tour I did there was amazing with a sunrise over the volcano, then a horseback ride to the top to look inside it. Don't go on a weekend though as it gets crazy busy. The Gili islands are beautiful as well.

If you just want to party you can go to any major city in Indonesia really.

Go out of your way to learn a few phrases of Bahasa Indonesia and it will be appreciated by the locals.

In Jogja at temples like Borobudur and Prabanan, if you're of Anglo appearance, be prepared to have lots of school students ask to take a photo with you as some of them have never seen a white person before. Kind of fun though, especially if your Bahasa Indonesia is good, but even if it isn't it's an experience.

        • @b2dz: Everyone's different but I personally found the AUD$32 or so I paid for Borobudur a rip off. After India, Myanmar and Cambodia I suppose I find it hard to justify paying so much for a temple so small. I enjoyed riding a motorbike to get there though.

I believe entry fees across Indonesia in general are rising steeply. At the tricolour lakes my guesthouse was complaining that the local councilors pocket the money rather than repair the attraction's only entry point (where a few motorbikes toppled that day).

        • @peterpeterpumpkin:

It is steep for foreigners, however I justify it by comparing it against the super cheap prices for everything else - hotels/entertainment.

Also, both the major temples in jogja are in relatively good condition. I'd be confident a good chunk of entrance revenue goes into upkeep, another reason why it didn't bother me.

Each to their own. Delhi is another 6 hours or so from Singapore so I wouldn't really compare it, though it's a fair comparison with Myanmar and Cambodia. I find Indonesia to be great value for money.

You can get an idea of where is cheap right now:
        http://iwantthatflight.com.au/InternationalDestinationsAll.a…

And also you can set your departure airport here and see it on a map
        http://iwantthatflight.com.au/world.aspx

        • Fyi, I found your site to be inaccurate with the prices. On your site it showed they were available, however when I was redirected it showed different pricing.

    • Its a transit so I don't think you can actually leave the airport.

      • Sometimes easier to book separate tickets.

      • Huh? I was commenting on the deal post, which is for return flights to Singapore.

        • I think he was referring to the rep's post under yours (maybe?).

      • I just re-read this. You can definitely leave Singapore airport in between flights. Well worth it too as it's so easy to get around.

  • +2

Man I have no idea how you guys make money but good bless you for finding cheap flights

    • Referral fees from the travel agents when someone clicks through their links and buys a ticket. Same as cashrewards

  • agh bloody wish I could get this, but stuck here for a while :(

    great deal though

  • I love these deals. But the 2 weeks caps are hard to get off.

    :(

    • Hi,

The dates we provide are just an example, you can choose your own.

  • I don't suppose you have any from adelaide?

    • Scoot is per/ool/syd/Mel only

  • Nice deals. Feels good to be a Perth resident. Closest ones to Asia with cheaper fares 😁

  • Scoot is So much better airplane than small air plane used by qantas and Emirates from Perth

    • +1

Emirates' smallest plane is a 777… wouldn't call that "small."

  • if only it was from brisbane and not gold coast

  • Any hanoi deals?

  • Why never no deals from Brisbane to SIN ?

    • Unfortunately, Scoot doesn't fly out of Brisbane.

  • Just confirming - is there a way to get around the $20 "Processing Fee"?

    • Pay using POLi.

      • Wow, never heard of this before… I'll look into it. Thanks!

  • Thanks. Just booked a trip to catch up with a mate for a few nights!

  • Can I confirm if I can leave Singapore airport if I pick the transit flight next day flying with Scoot, so i can stay overnight in Singapore instead? Also how's everyone's experience with Scoot, saw lots of terrible or 1 star rating reviews online, I am a bit worry …

    • Yep, you can head into the city overnight. I like flying Scoot. 5 trips to SIN with them, no issue. The planes are all brand new 787 Dreamliners and the crews are good. Owned by SIA, maintained to their standards. Just keep in mind it's the usual low cost model - you pay for the seat, everything else is extra. As long as you keep that in mind, you'll be fine.

      • Yeah I know everything else is extra, every time I flew, I couldn't eat and going to Singapore for 6 days, hand carry is more than enough, I will be throwing away old clothes everyday there, Thx for your info!

  • was looking into going to Singapore soon.
From anyone that has been, what are the best sites to see? (Have googled, but would prefer to hear from people who have been :)

    Cheers.

Although I love IWTF's work, in the interests of being a true Ozbargainer, I need to let you know that this deal stacks with coupon ESCAPE25 if you book direct at flyscoot.com for those adding baggage. The base fare will be the same, but you can add 20KG baggage for only $19 instead of the usual $40+.

  • Another can confirm the scoot 20kg checkin baggage can be multiple items or single bag only?
