This will work great on my Rolls Royce Phantom's drift damage from the local street burnout meetup.

This thing any good? Main drive is to seal some small scratches to prevent rusting.

I ordered one of these ages ago and it made the scratches more noticeable as it is the equivalent of putting super glue on the paint. God awful product

  • +1

These will not give you fantastic results.
They may even make scratches even more noticeable.

    • +3

Agreed, tried it on my black colour car and regretted it big time. Worst decision to make. Stay away from them.

      • +1

Father in law used these on gold coloured Magna. Weird raised not quite the right colour lines everywhere. Where they are clustered it looks like a fungal outbreak of some sort. I would not try these on any vehicle I cared about.

  • I've had decent results with Meguiar's scratch X. Is about $20 from super cheap usually.

Anyone actually tried these kogan pens and can comment on their effectiveness?

    • I investigated these after seeing them at Costco. Consensus is not good.

Scratch X is more like a polish, I believe it has both mechanical and chemical abrasives. It flattens out the scratch area rather than attempts to fill it.

Most scrapes and scratches I have encountered have buffed out mostly if not completely (it’s not just an expression).

How does junk like this have 12 positive votes? Any reasoning on how this is a bargain?

  • Absolute garbage

    • Please help with bit explanation

Did you try same or similar product before?

      • I try same and similar product, no good

  • Will these things work on a car's plastic bumper or only on the actual painted metal?

    • +3

      Neither, they're shyte

Don't risk stuffing up your car!

    Image of what happened

$300 extra to repair after it melted the surroundings!

    • +1

Downvoting for awareness based on this, before people wreck their cars more.

    • +1

Yea, these are actually terrible and don’t work as advertised.

  • You would be better off taping over the scratches with sticky tape. Or, hell, urinating on them. If these things worked it wouldn't cost hundreds or more to get paintwork fixed after a minor scrape!

These work. To make money. On the principle that if you can sell worthless rubbish for a few dollars to enough gullible people, you can make money.

I'm loving the terms and conditions:

    1. Liability
To the extent permitted by law we will not be liable for any loss of income, loss of profits, loss of contracts, loss of data or for any indirect or consequential loss or damage of any kind howsoever arising and whether caused by tort (including negligence), breach of contract or otherwise; and our maximum aggregate liability for any Product supplied to you whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise shall in no circumstances exceed the amount payable by you to us in respect of the Product(s) in question.

For the avoidance of doubt, nothing in this clause limits or restricts Your ability to make a claim that may be available to You for Our failure to comply with a guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law."

Translation: **** up your car and we'll think about giving you a refund unless you pursue it through legal avenues in which case we'll do our best to blame you for the mess.

Tried these and can confirm they're useless. If a good cut and polish can't fix a clear coat scratch, this is how you repair them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nYF46P7B2c
