  • you can buy a go card for $5 deposit and then put $5 minimum balance on it = $10. but good deal in the fact that you pay $15 and get $20 value I suppose (plus also takes care of the $5 deposit).

Shame translink is putting all the fares up again in January 2011. :(

    • Yes. I saw the news that translink is going to increase the ticket price again.

      • Not only that, they will also abolish all the paper tickets, including the weekly and monthly tickets. I really think that public transportation service here is declining instead of improving..

        • Go Cards have the ablility to be used as a replacement for such paper tickets.

And these fares will also carry the 30% discount.

What I heard though is that they made Go cards "cheaper" by making the paper tickets more expensive.

        • If you check the fare schedule for Go Card, there is no such fare that reflects the daily, weekly, or monthly. The only daily scheme is only available for Seniors, Pension Concession Card holders and Repatriation Health Care Card. For example, currently they have weekly paper ticket zone 1 for $27.20. No matter how many times you ride in a week, you only pay $27.20. Please correct me if I am wrong.

They have the ability for go cards to replace weekly and monthly tickets but at present and aftr these changes there is no equivalent for the weekly and monthly tickets using a go card. Thats what many people are not happy with. Weekly and monthly tickets cap how much you spend during a period but with how the go card is presently set up, you always have to pay.

  • cheaper with a student card :>

    • Yes. I know. But I'm no longer a student. :…(

You can exchange a standard adult go card for a concession one at a newsagent with a valid student ID, though I'm not implying you should take advantage of this deal in this way :P

hmm… and I was overcharged by a bus driver today anyway.

  • Thanks, got one.

  • elena,

    When posting group buy deals:

No Referrals. Due to the recent influx of such deals, referral links or codes are not permitted (including the description) for such sites.

Please remember to include the state that the deal is applicable to (e.g. $49 for a $100 Dinner Voucher & a Bottle of Wine at Example Restaurant [NSW])

I've fixed up the title and link.

    • Sorry I didn't know the referral link is not supposed to be here. My bad….

  • Ok, this deal and the site confuse me a bit. I assume that in this particular case, they will mail the Go card to me as the offer states. I assume that I'm not required to go to Cleveland Street in Redfern to "redeem" the coupon. I'm confused because normally you present the coupon to the merchant, but in this case the "merchant" is Jigocity itself.

    • I think the Go card should be mailed to us.

      • It is.
