Pretty good price for Local Australian stock and is a popular alternative to the Bose QC35. This is part of their Boxing day sale which started today, so they might have some other deal on there as well.

Yes I can :)
resistance is futile
Still can resist :)
Great headphones, would recommend!!!
5/7 would recommend? :D
The boss said it looks ugly (the leather cup) :(
She likes the look of QC35 (we have both QC35 and 25). Well, wait for next gen…sad
Change the boss.
I'd agree that the Bose are much more comfortable, however they're far uglier than the Sony's.
The cheap flimsy plastic on the Bose looks better? Take away the price tag and see the Bose for what it really is from an impression point of view, it looks no better than the $50 headphones I see flooding the market.
I love how when we are discussing Bose vs Sony, it's never "Both look and sound nice, but I prefer X for X reason"
It's always one is way more superior than the other and the other one is a piece of trash that is overpriced + overrated.
She likes the look of QC35.
Does it make her wet and drifto
Just wait 3 days and get it $15 cheaper https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/351330
That's a bait promo.
They will put very limited amount for the headphones.CatchOfTheDay more like GotchaYerTightArse
What's with the bait promo? We have had promos almost every two or three weeks and we have never ran out of stock for those promos. The biggest issue we have at the moment is a lot of manufacturers are shut down during the holidays so our stock is low. We are trying to get more stock at the moment,
He just didn't do his research before making his comment
Uh, it’s not Catch Of The Day.
Only 10 blacks and 26 golds in stock. Good luck.
How does the 1000XM2 compare to say a B&O H6, H7, H8 or a B&W P7?
In terns of sound quality and built quality?Or to a train, which I could also afford?
My Bose QC35 is sitting duck doing nothing. lol.
Hence I'm glad I held back, especially after trying them out at JB. ANC actually irritated my ears. Tested the XM2 while I was at it and they sounded much nicer, they only thing thats holding me back is the B&W PX…
by irritated your ears do you mean you get this weird 'vacuum' feeling in your ears? my QC20 is fine but when I tested the over the ear bose I couldn't stand it. Might have to go test the XM2 now
Yeah I believe it’s what they refer it to be as cabin pressure
@pandas: coolies. I thought I'll never be able to use over the ear ones. Now I shall go test these in store first.
Someone help me decide between the Sony WH-1000xm2 and the Bose qc35ii. On one hand the 1000xm2 are known for headband cracking and i dont want to waste $350, but then again the features and audio quality is amazing on them. On the other hand the qc35ii are extremely comfortable with great audio and tech support. So i dont know which ones to go for!
Test them out at JB, to me the Bose were quite flat and lacked definition. I'm waiting to test a pair of B&W PX, for me its either those or the Sonys.
How about the WH-H900N (hear.on 2)? Same sound as the XM2s, slight different design (doesn't seem to have the headband cracking issue) however misses a few features but also costs less. Definitely worth a look at.
Xm2’s don’t have the headband cracking issue. That was the 1st version you’re confused with. These are redesigned.
Yep. Band made of metal now.
I have both.I prefer the Bose sound signature when wireless, cabled the Bose sounds crap (maybe because the supplied cable is really really crappy). The comfort win definitely goes to Bose though.
So if I had to pick I'd go Sony as the most balanced, but if just wireless I'd probably go Bose.
I'm a B&W fan but will keep the brand for home theatre, the PX is just not that comfy for long sessions.
I have the bose. Picked them out after trying them and the Sony in store.
If I had the option I’d go for the cheaper first version of the Bose.
Not much difference.
https://youtu.be/meIyRYNq_MwThat reviewer has some intriguing book tastes: collected James bond, nursing text books, Harry potter and motley crue biography….
The 1000XM2 does not have headband cracking issues.
In terms of audio quality it is far superior to Bose because it supports LDAC, which is a true hi-res bluetooth codec. You can enjoy your lossless music files without losing quality over bluetooth (as long as you have a Sony device or Oreo android). QC35II supports only SBC and AAC (max 328kbps bitrate, compared to LDAC 990kbps). Go listen to some FLAC-HD music files, the difference between Bose and Sony is night and day.
If you're a frequent flyer then you'll know the NC on QC35II gets uncomfortable as the altitude changes. The 1000XM2 has built-in atmospheric pressure sensors that automatically adjusts for comfort according to exterior pressure. Hands down the headphone of choice if you're planning to use them on flights.
Other little things like you can have a conversation without taking off the 1000XM2 by simply putting your whole hand over the right headphone, and it'll turn off NC and reduce volume. With the QC35II you'll have to take off the headphone.
Google Assistant? 1000XM2 has it too.
Where do you get 990kbps LDAC music from?
LDAC is not a music format. It is a bluetooth codec. If you own loss-less music files like FLAC, you can stream via LDAC protocol without losing quality. Whereas if you stream to say QC35II which only supports SBC, no matter how high quality your music file is, it'll still get compressed to 328kbps. With LDAC you get virtually no compression.
LDAC support is already on the latest Sony products and supported Oreo android phones.
@Erkel: Cool, thanks for your explanation. I don't have ant FLAC music files, all my music is still in MP3 format at up to 320kbps. I am also using an iPhone 8 Plus, not an Android phone running Oreo. I guess I won't be able to take advantage of this loss-less music format.
Do you even own a mark 1? I've been using my mark 1 for 3-4 days a week since April and there is no cracking issue.
I've been using the Sony's for the past three weeks and find them to be the best headphones I've ever used. I fall asleep with them on almost every night so I've put the headband durability to the test and no cracking so far! The ear cups do get a bit sweaty if you wear them for and extended period of time on a hot day. Taking phone calls and changing songs/volume with swipe commands on the right earcup is a breeze. And if he want to hear somebody talking to you, instead of taking off the headphones, you just place your hand over the right ear cup to auto pause whatever you're listening to and noise cancelling switches off.
Have never tried the Sony’s, but I love my QC35s. Worn them on dozens of international flights from gate to gate, and they are simply superb.
Very comfortable for wearing for 15hrs+, solid BT connection my my phone, tablet and laptop (two at a time), and the audio quality is great for watching TV, movies and listening to music. Battery life is outstanding too, and they charge quickly.
Just my 2c
Damn, already has qc35
Are these any good for PC gaming?
I currently have a set of Audio Technica ATH AD700's that I've had for 8 years and have been thinking about upgrading to a new set everytime I come across these deals.
The portability and Noise canceling are more of a bonus for when I travel which isn't all that much. They're ok, but not the best.
If you're gaming in a loud environment, this will be better.
If you have a quiet environment for gaming, get something open. You can buy audiophile grade open headphones for cheaper than this. HD598 is a good choice. It sells occasionally for under $140. There's also the popular Fidelio x2 which I can't remember the price of. Maybe $240 on special.
These XM2, if you're not buying for the ANC, I don't know why you want it. Same goes for QC35.
I agree with lostn, for gaming the open back headphones have a more open sound stage. I use Philips Fidelio X2s with Xonar D2X sound card.
The Fidelio X2s I think on special at minidisc Australia for 299AUD.
This is basically that 2 for $690 deal a few weeks ago but you don't have to buy 2 of them. I got downvoted for saying, just wait. You'll be able to get prices like this without buying 2 of them. I feel vindicated now. Thanks.
I feel bad for those going halves with strangers though.
quick maths!
Sony has actually decreased price point of new version, so these prices will be seen more often.
How do they compare to these?
https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/products/sony-mdr-100abn-nois…You lose some features and the battery life isn't as good but other than that, they're still really good. I remember testing these against the QC35 II and HD 4.50 and I definitely preferred the sound of the 100ABNs.
I have both, as mention by kelvin the battery life isn't as good, however there is a slight delay for the h.ear on 1 when listening which can be annoying when watching video incostrast to the 1000xm2 which has non. Also the 1000xm2 has better ANC also have an app to control the anc, if budget is an issue I would recommend h.ear 2. I saw it on a post with Boxing Day for 250
How do the XM2 compare with the Sennheiser PXC-550?
No LDAC support on the Sennheiser = no true hi-res bluetooth audio.
The Sony already has all the features of the PXC-550 plus more. Built-in atmospheric pressure sensor, Google Assistant, NFC, personalised ANC using Sony app.
I found the PXC550 almost perfect, so close. But there was one band on the higher frequencies that I just found too much after listening for an hour or more.
Using the PXC550 as a communication device was super, the voice clarity was absolutely phenomenal.
If you will always use the PXC550 via the app with EQ then it's definitely worth a consideration.
I spent an hour in the stores comparing the Bose QC35-II with this. In the end I got the Sony. The only thing the Bose had going for it was a more comfier fit. Otherwise the gesture control and ambience control on the Sony is just amazing.
Unfortunately I got it for $450 at JB Hi-Fi. I should have checked in on OzBargain first. It was a last minute 'need it now' Xmas gift.
Yeah you paid $105 too much. And i also bet some thing will happen like suddenly JB has it going for under $400 on a Boxing Day sale come December 26.
Tempted to get a pair of these price matched at JB. Should have got some of those 15% off vouchers to sweeten the deal..
Should you really be using headphones while you are driving?
I reckon theres some exception on this headphones as theres ambient sound that let you hear surrounding noise with a single button touch. However its better to lower the noise about 20% so you can still hear the surrounding boise properly.
But once the police see you, I dont think they wont be happy with what they see. Also some other people might get annoyed when they see you wearing headphones and might stare-shame on you.
Don’t listen to noise cancelling headphones while driving. Listen to the road. Use the car radio or if it’s too shitty throw a Bluetooth speaker in the passenger seat or something.
Don’t continue with this amazingly careless idea you had
don't know why im negged. I do keep my eyes on the road when listening so don't know what the issue is. Never had to listen to the road. Anyway cars will eventually all become electric and won't make a sound at all.
it's unsafe.
When a cyclist does this, half the driving population goes apeshit…
most importantly before someone lists all the things you should be listening for, you wont hear any sirens
If I am your employer I would sack you for wearing a pair of headphones while driving. Worse when the headphones are noise-cancelling.
ugh, why did I buy the 100ABN? Why???
Saved $100, but still.
What are the abn's like?
Is there a warranty associated with this product?
Of course. It's Australian stock from Addicted To Audio. Full 1 year Sony warranty.
Thanks
Are these any good for gym? Just weightlifting mainly but still work up a decent sweat. Don't mind if they are a tad heavy since I'm not running with them or anything.
Ear goes warm for these would not recommend for the gym
I wonder if JB HiFi will price match this. I have over $300 in gift vouchers to use with them but I'm not paying the $449 they're charging.

These seem like much better value than the Bose QC35 with more features. Very tempting as well, but hoping JB will do a deal or at least price match as I have some vouchers.
Purchased it yesterday for $345.00, still happy I suppose .
Send an email through requesting the difference to be refunded!
Would buy this in a heartbeat if I didn't already own Bose qc35.
Damn it, at $329 I want to buy a second pair.
Must resist as well ;(, this price is giving another reason to purchase another pair
Anyone who purchased at the $345 please message us through on email and we will reimburse you for the difference on your next order with us.
Also as a reminder we have stores in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Adelaide coming in early January!

Rare
Wow that's great, you did it without anyone asking. Great service and OzB won't forget. You'll have many repeat customers!
Keep it up.Make it 300 for maximal exposure :p, will be ultimate bargain (alot of exposure as it will be most voted deal) as people can still claim TRS with minimal $ 300 purchase. Right on the ball park, just right
Come on dude, don't get so greedy. This is already an insanely good price, and the offer of refunding the overpayments is really awesome.
Don't go raining on OP's parade.yea true bud
Got too greedy
I just got the impulse to share my "greedy" thoughtBut think about it with $300 minimal purchase for 10% TRS, would you think it will be just perfect?
I reckon Rep will lose some money but in term of marketing they don't have to advertise themselves (which end them up to cost money anyway , SEO advertisement, web ads). People will refer their store through most-voted comment which I think will be much more effective and accurate advertisement.
With less price there will be more vote, which mean the store advertise themselves passively.
Of course it's very less likely to happen but I think it will be a win-win situation.@rodinthink: I see your point, and it does make sense from that angle. Though I think this could be a sale at a loss and the numbers didn't add up for them, otherwise they would've done $300 and generated all the publicity!
can't find a better price and it's really good to see a store that's active in the community :D
purchased one :)
Very tempted. OP, do you send a digital (PDF or other) tax invoice or is it just a physical one that is included in the package?
PDF on request without issue.
Thanks A2A. Good stuff.
The price is 345 in the website … how can I grab it for 329 bucks?
Rep:
Also use the coupon A2A for a little surprise will bring it down to 329 or ozbargain members!
Op should include coupon code at the introduction
