Nice discount. Not sure if i would ever have a use for a corded blower but for apartments or courtyards might be perfect.

Also good for turning your backyard brazier fire into an inferno!

    • +2

Yeah great price, but noisy, bulky and impractical.
I had the blower-vac version of this: it sucked about as much as it blowed and did so in an uncomfortable clumsy way.
Switched to a new lighter cordless blower that I find much more appealing, though as you’d expect, came with a steep price tag…

      • +1

Oh I hate these everyday early in the morning.

        • +1

I have one of these. It's loud and obnoxious… and I love it! (only after 9 though)

    damn nature haters

    • +9

No; not at all. Help nature by blowing leaves into a pile for mulching. Makes the grass safer for others; wet leaves can be a bit slippery with falls a health hazard. Leaving leaf litter on the lawn can also kill off the grass through lack of sunlight. Also makes finding the doondies poo easier for cleaning purposes. Doondies poo maybe nature but it can be awfy smelly and not very nice underfoot. None of that is nature haters … just lending Nature a hand.

Justifying $20 expenditure. Nice and noisy too.

If had a Dyson sticker on it, they could sell it for $600

I’m blown away by this deal!

    I’ll see myself out

I caught wind of your pun

That looks like a pretty decent deal to me. We were in Bunnings this afternoon and noticed the battery powered Ozito models (with battery) were over $100; $111 I think.

We use a lot of battery powered garden tools but not the blower actually. The battery powered blowers are not that powerful (great grass trimmer and hedge shears though) but nice and light; easy to lug about.

    This deal blows.

    Great Kris Kringle gift, thanks

        • Something wrong with doondies?

          Doondies … doondies … doondies.

          Off topic? Me … Never!

I use a ryobi or makita cordless to blow dry my car. Works awesome

      • I've been using a leaf blower on my car for years. Not to blow dry it per se, that would take too long. It's more for blowing out water from crevices and trims. The water that would otherwise drip down AFTER you've already dried it off. :)

        • +1

I use an air compressor , top up tyres, blow out interior before vacuuming and get the water out of jambs etc prior to drying.

    • +1

At least you are not the fat jew

  • +7

why don't people just sweep up their mess rather then use this to blow the mess elsewhere

a blow job is preferred, I reckon?

      bacause we are lazy?

  • +1

Couldn't find any at Nunawading store. Was going to dry my car with it haha

    • +2

More like blow all the crap that's in the air straight into it lol

      • +2

at least the dusts are gone with the wind ~~

  • +1

Honest question, why get a blower since it essentially just blows the dirt around and not clean it up.

    • +3

guess it depends on ur view, personally my dad uses its coz hes lazy and its just easy to blow stuff out of the way and no back bending.

    • +1

It kind of makes sense to get all the rubbish into one corner and pick it up at once from there rather than have to pick it up one by one?

      • +1

        Good for decks and apartments

        • Also cars

      • I believe the question is why use one of these noisy powered devices when you can easily use a broom or rake to achieve the same.

        • Just imagine that the blower is a magical broom with a 1m width. Magic because with one sweep all the super fine particles including the big bits are pushed forward. A normal broom is much narrower and will always leave behind the finer particles unless you sweep over and over again.

    • +1

I've been wanting one for the garage. All that fine dust is just too much a pain in the arse to try to sweep / vacuum with benches and all the other crap in there. Well, it's not a dump but figuratively speaking. I think this would be way easier, same thing with the backyard patio, though sweeping works there as well.

    • I use both for different jobs. I suck up the leaves on the pavers, but blow the leaves off the pebbles/gravel. Trying to suck leaves off of small stones into the mulcher is a guaranteed way to blunt the blades.

    • Blow into neighbors yard

Perfect companion to the Xiaomi bidet toilet seat.

Seems like a good deal. I hate leafblowers with a passion. Maybe I can buy one and release some tension smashing it to pieces.

  • +3

Damn, this would be the best, worst KK gift. I hope I can find one for $20 next year.

    • +3

Be a good OzBargainers and buy 3, and store them until next year

  • "OSHITO". it's $20 for a reason. Ryobi all the way

    • lol, jeez at throwing Ryobi in there after the rubbish nickname.

  • +2

Thanks OP. Got one just now from my local Bunnings. Also scored some 200 led multi coloured Christmas lights for $6 as well as 100 led multi coloured for $3!

Blower comes with a 3 year replacement warranty lol!

  • +1

Recon I could turn this into a spud rpg? 🤔

    • sure, if you've got rocket propelled spuds

  • Would these be suitable for blowing all the loose mulch chips and sand and sand/dirt stains thst accumulate in your garage (being a new estate opposite unbuilt land) or would a pressure spray/hose be more advisable for dealing with dirt and sand?the broome currently kicks up a massive dust sand plume which makes working on pushing dust and sand out an issue

    • I think a pressure cleaner would do the better job. We have a battery operated leaf blower, but I think it would blow too much dust about in a garage. At least the water pressure cleaner keeps the dust down a bit and can clean any mould (if you have any) and stains off the concrete.

Leaf blower may distract a few of those messy blackbirds for a few minutes, but they'll be b a c k!

      • +1

        messy blackbirds

        Crows?

        • It is the little vengeful blackbirds around here who are the messy culprits. Put some edging around? Ha … they take sheer delight in tossing chip bark and leaves higher and further than ever!

XU 1 2400w blower and vacuum is for $35 at Bunnings

    • +1

I was wondering why no one is recommending this one. You get a mulching vac as well for $15 more. And more powerful overall too. Hmm.

  • Can I blow all the leaves onto the road and let the council sweep it up, or is it illegal?

    • Don't think it is illegal but you may get an adverse reaction from the neighbours.

      • -1

The road is always full of leaves in autumn anyway, due to trees on the nature strip shedding. As long as I don't blow it onto the neighbors side, maybe they'll be fine?

In any case, I don't have a long enough extension cable to use this anyway.

  • It's the charcoal pizza oven I'm interested in. Anyone got any experience with it? Any reason why I couldn't just fuel it with firewood too?

    • +2

May as well get the blower as well - good fire stoker! Careful of flying sparks though haha

    • +2

It's the charcoal pizza oven I'm interested in

Add the blower and you have a home-made smelting furnace!

  • Need to spend another $20 on an extension cord. The cord is so short.

I got my petrol blower on special for $50 at Masters - it is used very often, starts easy and still going strong

All these comments are "helpful" but does anyone actually own one and can comment on the quality?

    • +1

I’m about to try mine out soon. Will let you know on how the quality is.

      • I just grabbed one from Bunnings Notting Hill VIC, they probably had 20 odd left. Worth a punt for $20.

        • +1

I just tried mine out outside cleaning up the driveway. Works pretty well and machine itself is not to heavy to hold. Only thing is that it's pretty loud as expected! Overall well worth the $20 for me :) Very happy with it (plus the three year replacement warranty as a bonus)!

        • +1

@PLA74: Thanks for commenting, I have a small backyard and mainly bought it to blow out the garage and some paths and maybe to dry the crevices of my car when detailing. Hopefully having the cord doesn't make it too cumbersome.

        • +1

Would highly recommend picking up some ear protection ear muffs (start from $5 at Bunnings)!

        • @PLA74: I usually do the gardening, car detailing with ear pods in listening to music, hopefully that's enough!

        • +1

@iShibby: Ah ok. The blower is much louder than a petrol powered lawn mower & line trimmer. As the sound from the back of the blower (where the huge air intake fan system is) is kind of a really loud high pitched sound.

        • +2

@PLA74: Ah gotcha, I'll see how I go and maybe invest in some ear defenders. I've seen some Bluetooth ones that could be handy so I can block noise and listen to music at the same time.

    • +2

I have owned an Ozito leaf blower (with vacuum/mulching function). It looked a lot like this one. It was huge, insanely noisy, clumsy to use with extension cord, and the mulching function was horrible as it tried to crunch sand too, making it sound like it was destroying itself. Turns out it was, as it totally stopped working in just under a year, having been used twice. Took it back and got my $99 back (firmly declined a replacement).

I now own a cordless Ryobi Leaf Blower (thanks Ozbargain), and despite being less powerful it is so much easier because you can just pick it up and tidy things up in 5 minutes.

Cordless ones are much easier to use, take way less storage space, and are also easier when you use them to clean your gutters (very fast job when you walk around your roof with a leaf blower, though dusty).

  • This is a great blower to use for your backyard furnace/smelter

  • +1

When you die you will be met at the Pearly gates by Saint Peter to review the way you lived to gain admission to heaven. One of the assessment questions will hopefully be 'Have you ever bought and used a leaf blower?' If the answer is yes, then you will surely go straight to hell via the fast lane for being lazy and inconsiderate of your fellow man. I am sure a special place is reserved in hell for the person who came up with the idea for these atrocities. If a broom or rake is just too hard for you then you are doing it wrong.

    • +1

      Peace be with you dogboy.

    • +1

I bought a cordless one for my uncle as a gift.

I guess i must be the christmas grinch then

      • Well, if he doesn't want it tell him to kick it to me!

    • A leaf blower does a better job, and way faster. And most leaves come from my neighbour's trees. Just returning them, as per the law :)

      • I was not aware of that … but I think they have enough of their own. 😁

    • Needs must I reckon. Appears I have been doing it wrong (sometimes) … well, I have had 3 back operations in the last 2 years and I struggle a bit with the raking … can be a bit much (sometimes). But I have only used the light (rechargeable) battery powered blowers. I think there must be a bit of an art to it as I can make an even bigger mess!

Off topic I know, but I use a light electric mower sometimes too, but still struggle a bit (bending over) with the catchers, so if someone cannot do the emptying for me it stays where it lands. On a further off topic subject there is a remote mower (have seen advertised in o/s magazine) that actually mulchers the grass trimmings even finer, so feeding the lawn at the same time … but awfully expensive. One day … that is the way to go!
