Yeh i went to process and get the same as above. Out of Stock?
There's an ST5000LM000 inside my one, which is reportedly an SMR drive. Haven't used it long enough yet to see if performance gets weird once it's filled.
Yeh majority are shingle drives. Slower speed and reliability is a bit less also, along with louder noise. I'd probably stick with the WD 4TB passports on US Amazon. They are about $160 delivered for coloured drives or the black for around $150
working again!
Working again - just ordered one!
$35.04 / TB
Does anyone know if this would be suitable for a MacBook? I know that it would have to be formatted to MacOS Extended, just wanted to know if a 5TB would be supported. Thanks in advance.
The maximum volume size for the HFS Plus file system is 8 exabytes, so you should be fine!
