Yes, but it is 15mm not 9.5mm one. But still portable and no need for external power adapter normally.
Product Height (cm) 2.05
Product Width (cm) 7.8
Product Depth (cm) 11.45
I mean the thickness of hard disk inside…After all, it is 5TB 2.5 hard disk.
Ah ok. I usually go by total thickness.
Same as my ex-girlfriend.
So tempted to get one for the upcoming Xbox One X.
Yeah…I bought this for my Xbox One S…Some games need 100Gb each…
I don't think this will fit inside, length and width should be okay, but its too thick.
Even the bigger/roomier Base-PS4 cannot* fit this, they require the 7mm thin ones.
*it can if you cut the metal cover/shroud, the regular plastic side-panel is fine.
can this be easily removed from the enclosure and used in a desktop?
Not hard, can Google that, and the rest could still be as a hard drive case.
Just checking. I have done 3.5" hdds before but never a 2.5". I know some of them you can't without extra parts/soldering etc.
You just need this:

But if you are going to used in a desktop, I am more recommend to find a 3.5" one, because it faster and normally cheaper.
@Ning0539: Yeah I was looking at that option too.
@mit:
Yes, for Seagate.
No for WD.
Can anyone vouch for the reliability of this model? I'm so tired of dying drives…
Hard to say,
but remember do not remove cable or shake it when it working. The MTBF time should more than 100,000 hour. But still depend more the item you bought.
couple this with your https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/329979 to ensure you know when your hdd are going to go down
as someone who performs data recovery - most seagate portable drives are pretty good. the amount of WD mybook drives I get is crazy
Always heard the opposite in the statistics.
The Seagates had the most failed units, followed by WD, which was far behind Toshiba spinners which had the most reliability.
yeah i've heard statistics from every side. as someone who works with failed drives I can tell you i get more WDs than anything else.
when it comes to purchasing portable external drives, i always recommend any brand but WD for a couple reasons:
- they encrypt the data with useless encryption that is easy to crack, but makes recovery much harder
- the 2.5" drives dont use a USB -> SATA bridge which limits recovery options and speed (and again, they use crappy unnecessary encryption)
but hey - just an opinion. get whatever makes you comfortable
Now showing at $249 with PICNIC discount comes down to $199.20
How did you get the additional $20 discount in your post Ning0539?
Thank you :)

Great price thanks OP
Just a heads up, maybe check some reviews on this company before sending them any money. Wish I had done that before sending them $700 for a monitor that I never ended up getting.
They don't keep stock and are a company of very questionable ethics. My advice, pay a little more from a reputable company.
Good price for local stock
This 2.5"? Looks thick though…
