$700 to $798 but can be bought cheaper than that elsewhere e.g. currently $652 at JB HiFi
thanks
If you can go wired, I find that Ubiquiti access points are amazing for their price - great range and reliability.
I've never needed to reboot/reconfigure them since the day I set them up over 3 years ago
Ubiquiti is awesome.
How many clients can it handle?
Around 20-30 per AP, but Ubiquiti says they can handle up to 100 concurrent users
It’s the wireless clients that is the issue especially when using wireless lights etc
I have never heard of Ubiquiti. Did you mean if I have cat 6 data cable around the house, I can just plus a couple of access points into the data points and have one wifi network around the house with no dead spot? Thanks.
Yes you just plug your cable from your socket to your access point, give them the same SSID and you're good to go.
I'm just wondering why people keep bringing up the $100 Amex cashback offer in HN deals. Is this offer still actually available to save to your card? I have an Amex velocity escape card and I never saw the Harvey Norman offer which makes me think either the offer is only for certain Amex cards or I just missed out.
If the deal was in fact available to all Amex cards then people who saved the offer to their card already know so bringing up the $100 cashback is moot since anyone who didn't save the offer has missed out anyway.
Am I missing something obvious?
it is for amex direct issued cards
I got the offer and I have a bank issued Amex.
you won't get it via amex app, prob by amexconnect website.
It's a reminder for people that have saved the offer that they can use it to get another $100 off. Use it or lose it!
Shouldn't be in the title imo. This offer only applies to amex customers who:
Just my 2c though.
With all the deals that have been posted involving hn and amex offer since it began, no ozbargainer should need reminding.
Is this offer still actually available
Mine's still available until 31-Dec.
Not available to save to your card (fully subscribed) but for those who have already have it they have until 31 December to use it…. or lose it
or lose it
there's nothing to lose.
@jv: Yes there’s at least $300 to lose, especially if you buy something just to take advantage of the offer.
I got it on my NAB card
you lose the opportunity to get a $100 credit
it didn't cost you anything, so you haven't really lost anything.
have you heard of opportunity cost?
that doesn't cost you anything either…
it is more aligned to a potential 'saving', it is not a cost.
Yes. So you'd lose a potential saving…..
This or google wifi?
Ubiquiti
How quickly does Ubiquiti provide updates?

Safe gonads? Perhaps not.
Mesh networking is legit.
I got the Google wifi pack from a deal about 4 months ago now. All areas of the house completely covered. You can set timers for kids bedtimes for all their wifi connected gear. You can pause any devices at any time. I think one of the best things about it is how it allocates bandwidth to the various things you do on the net. We only 5mb ADSL2 where I live and it's allows us to share Netflix and PlayStation bandwidth automatically and no drama. No more whinging kids (playstation LAG! And Netflix stop/start is gone)
Oh and the app is easy enough my misus can control it too. She can pause the kids gear when they act up and she loves it. Easy. Set and forget. Haven't had to restart it since I purchased it.
Yeah I agree with everything you said. I got hfc cable, 4bd house that isn't very large but for some reason the Asus AC68 router wasn't giving me full coverage in a couple of spots. I won a Google WiFi 3 pack and installed it last week, while it's a little slower (normally get over 100 down), I'm still getting about 70 down in there previous dead spots
Also, because the units don't look bad, wife doesn't mind having them around the house
Seems that most Linksys products are on sale at HN.
That's against the law in some states.
What's their normal price?
