It’s not just BBQs at 20% off. Ray’s & BCF both have 20-50% sitewide sales until Sunday.

For those not near a Rays, BCF are the same price:

  • great price, ive had mine for a few years… only downside is not having the in built thermometer

    • That's the downside for me. I have a Bugg, and the thermometer is excellent. Downside to the Bugg is that the dials are at the back, which is crazy.

      • At the back?! That is the dumbest design ever

    • +2

Don't worry about the thermometer. This type is usually very inaccurate. Better to not even be there. There accurate ones you can get which are not too expensive. They don't need to be fast as they stay in place.

      Update: helpful resource, formatting.
Here is a good write-up on grilling and thermometers. Worth a read.

Literally just drill a hole and fit a $4 thermometer from eBay, easy as and looks factory.

      • +2

        that's so bogan :D

    • I put my own thermometer in my weber. just a cheapy from bunnings, works good

    • Yeah, but roasting, you should really invest in a Weber Kettle. You simply cannot beat it.

  • Looking for the natural gas version. Seems like they only have the LP version for sale?

    • +3

I was too, but then I decided to go lpg. I already have a gas port, but going lpg was better for me because:
      Makes it portable
Better resale, but then again I'm not looking to get rid of it.
I prefer the smell of LPG. Call me strange.
It is cheaper and easier to find, except for the rare clearance.

I thought I'd be annoyed with bottle changes but my 9kg from last year is still fine and it'd be over 30 BBQs! I have a patio heater that has another bottle so I'm not worried about running out.

      Just for your consideration.

It's a really good grill btw. Use a proper Weber wire brush after heatup and it's negligible cleaning.

      • Thanks for the advice.
The bottle changes is what I wanted to avoid & don’t really plan on moving it about. But 30+ uses per change seems bearable

        • No worries.

These things are seriously efficient because of how they work.

        • Is freaky how efficient the Q series is. It threw me when I first started using my Q200

        • @bunnybash: 1. Agree with the efficiency, it is stunning
          2. Cleaning grill after heat-up with the brush is easy, but I find I have to regularly clean the "gas holes" as well, otherwise heat gets a bit patchy
          3. As mentioned previously, I haven't really had a lot of joy with indirect cooking with this. Great for direct heat. Weber Q + SteakMate app = happy campers

  • Doesn't include the pictured stand presumably.

    • +1

      It does

  • Is the BBQ fixed to the stand? Read that it is fixed. So I might get the Weber Q 2000 instead. Can anyone give a recommendation pretty please ?

    • Yes on the Family Q it's screwed to the stand. It's really not meant to be used without the supplied stand and it's too big to be considered portable anyway. The downside with the Q 2000 is you have to buy the portable stand extra.

      • Apparently you can also get a duffle bag for the Q2000!

  • Thanks been tempted for a while. Couldn't resist at this price!

  • Great price. I have been watching prices for a while but this is a great price and delivered free plus cashback! What more could a lass want!

  • +1

If BCF & Rays stores are too far from your location, I managed to get David Jones to price match the price for the q2000 + the portable stand.

    • Thanks for the heads up I would rathe buy it at DJ's

  • Thanks FLICKIT,I've got BCF at South Tweed holding a Q2000 for me atm.I'll rip out the old four burner Beefmaster and insert the Weber on the trolley after a modification….the Beefmaster lives on!

  • nice one thanks OP. I had the good guys price match this one as BCF were apparently out of stock everywhere in my state except for one store 50km away

  • +2

For anyone contemplating these - they are the REAL DEAL. Best thing is heat is evenly distributed to the grill/hotplate. This makes a huge difference as I went from a Jackeroo 4 burner to this exact model. The difference in results and ease is night and day. Also, very easy to clean.

Absolutely recommend as your main BBQ.

  • Thanks again…picked up my Q2000 ($343.20) from BCF this morning and got the flat half plate accessory from the Good Guys (not far away) and they price matched with the 20% discount (BCF sold out)

  • Expired? it allows me to purchase until the final stage, no stock

  • +1

Good guys wouldn’t price match. Said rays and Bcf not part of their competitors. Muppets.

    • I managed to get them to price match.

  • Can add to cart and try to Check out, but halfway through process they say SOLD OUT

    • Yup, sold out in 3054 too.
