We didn't have any bad experiences in the buses travelling around the Phils (except for the toilet break stops), Jeepneys and Tricycles on the other hand… lol
I think he meant tourist buses for Hong Kongers

Looks like return fares start around the $500 mark. That's still a several hundred dollar saving over Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Qantas.

I swear I glanced over a JetStar ad for this in the paper, but ignored it, only to find it an hour before 4pm on ozbargain lol.
P.S. Just stick to normal tourist rules and you won't get 'hijacked' lol, i.e. don't flash your cash/wallets, keep to yourself in busy crowds, etc..
Also another P.S., I snapped up $172 fares both ways excl tax just in case anyone was wondering if it applied to the return trip, but by this time I would assume they'd be sold out (theres some $332 and $528 fares I remember).

Um — sorry this might sound stupid, but I've never booked via the website before. I can't seem to find Manila as a destination when I select Sydney as the origin, even setting the dates to between the sale dates? Or is this the expected behaviour if there are no flights available?
