  • Checked the Nvidia website and they don’t offer shipping to Australia.

You should probably link the Amazon one that ships to Australia. $209.10 AUD Shipped

    • Thanks :)

  • Thanks stratbargain :)

  • Why would you start a post without even knowing if they ship out to AU?

You are going to need a US forwarder to get this shipped here via nvidia.com

    better going via amazon.com

    • I didn’t think it was hard to click on the partners link, I’ll update it

Hey good find. And great value if dont play games.
It has been on sale since Sunday - I ordered with game controller for a bit more. ~$250 shipped.

This or wait for the amazon opening?

    • No guarantee that this will be be offered by Amazon when they (Amazon) open in Australia. The decision to sell in Australia will be made by Nvidia and or their distribitor.

If you want this item, I would suggest buying it now while the price is right. The Nvidia Shield does not get discounted too often.

Amazon Marketplace Australia is supposed to be going live at 2pm today so might be worth holding off at least until then to see what's on offer.

  • I purchased one a few months back. The unit does NOT ship with an Australia A/c powedr plug adapter. You will need to go to Bunning or whpever and buy a Korjo adapter.

    • Thanks for the heads up.

That or grab one of these, if they bring it back….

      • Isn't that for the tablet ?

The power supply is already international on the Shield TV, just need a plug adaptor.

What would this add to the party :D

        • I imagine a plug adapter is fine.

I have a few of the "chunky" Jackson ones that seem to be of high quality, but I don't tend to use them unless I'm unable to obtain an AU-plugged brick. Maybe the world charger is only good for travel and some form of OCD about bulky adapters plugged into power boards? :)

Just checked my Amazon orders page, and that's definitely the item I ordered "B0171BS7HI".

DON'T purchase this plug. (I already made that mistake). It is intended for the Nvidia Shield Tablet. It does come with a variety of international plug and plate adaptersm however the power supply unit itself is INCOMPATIBLE with the Nvidia Shield (Android) TV unit. Also, it has been withdrawn from sale in Europe due to fire safety issues. (I'm still awaiting my R/A after 4 months).

Instead, save yourself the US$30 bucks and just purchase the Korjo adapter from Bunnings as I mentioned in the previous post. I recommend the Korjo because the adapter is slim and narrow and will fit nicely on a crowded power board. Most of the other US (or international) to AU adapters are too big and clunky to fit on a standard power board.

Or just get one for $1 delivered off eBay?

  • Thanks OP, bought one.

I've been keen on one of these ever since I bought my first Nexus player, which I then replaced with a Mi box. I've had zero issues with the Mi box, including streaming uncompressed Blu-ray rips over wifi. But everyone raves about the Shield, so I couldn't resist the upgrade at first price.

  • That US$169 statement is false, you forgot to add shipping.

  • This has a tegra x1 GPU, with 512GFLOPS https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tegra#Tegra_X1
It's a higher-clocked version of that in the nintendo switch.
Twice as much as an xbox360… 1/12 of the just-released xbox one X.

  • rad, finally bit the bullet on one of these. Upgrading from Roku 3 + Chromecast. Hoping I get some use out of PC streaming to justify a fairly high cost device.
But a snappy interface and avoiding tedious casting from mobile for Netflix will be great
