I took up this offer last year and bought a Nato and RAF style strap. They have held up very well and are certainly a higher quality of material and comfort than Aliexpress straps, not to mention the hardware is a lot better. Compared to Aliexpress sellers, NSC also give accurate specs - thickness and length - which is great for watches that have a tight fit. They also use SS hardware, no cheap alloy that discolours. The holes are ultra-sonically welded and mine haven't frayed at all.

In addition, compared to many other sellers, their selection of types, colours, widths and hardware are massive.

Personally, I prefer the brushed look of the hardware, since Nato straps are more frequently worn on tool watches, which have a brushed finish. Go for the stitched straps as opposed to the glued/ultrasonically welded straps

Ultrasonic welded Straps at US $5.99 / AU $7.91 and Stitched (highly suggested) at US $8.25 / AU $10.90

The Black-Ops II. Black and Gray Striped NATO Strap w/ Brushed Hardware (Stitched) Bond Nato for AU $10.90

FREE SHIPPING - International (7-21 business days)

Also, check out this post for 25% off Sitewide at Cincy Strap Works, they are highly regarded.

I don't see anywhere on the website which says they are US made (or made by any country which is affiliated with The North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

Not sure if you are joking? Hopefully you are.

If not, then Google what a NATO watch strap is, and the US in the title is representing the amount it cost in US dollars, lol.

Please re-read the post - been there, done that. I have purchased Natos from Aliexpress several times and it has been an absolute lottery. The specs are off 100% of the time.

Issues with AE: wrong specs, very short lengths and cannot be folded at the ends, cheap brassy coloured alloy after the SS plating falls off the hardware, cheap hardware, crooked stitching on keepers, wrongly stated length, wrongly stated thickness - very thin so watch head flops around and holes that stretch quickly and pretty much only stainless steel finish hardware. Just read the reviews. Even CheapestNatoStraps is better than AE.

If you feel comfortable buying from AE that's great, but cheaper isn't always better. I'm not about to cheapen the look of my watches for a slight saving.

By the way I just read the Specs on your listed straps. Hilarious!
      * Please allow 1-2cm differs due to the manual measurement! Thanks for your understanding. That's a lot!
      * Band Thickness 3.0mm(approx). Will it even fit between the spring bars?
      * Band Length:21cm Child size

I actually purchased cheap bulk straps from AE with full knowledge that they wouldn't last simply for the opportunity to test out different colour combos.

Having narrowed down my preferred colours and materials I can now invest in some higher quality straps. So this post definitely comes in handy- thanks!

having bought NATO straps from a few places (including a local site promoted on ozb), i'd say straps from nato strap co have consistently been the most hard-wearing. The other straps tend to fray very quickly (and severely) around the eyelet.

"I don't see anywhere on the website which says they are US made (or made by any country which is affiliated with The North Atlantic Treaty Organization." What are you on about?

Either made in China or, as is also common for straps, the individual hardware and nylon is from China and then assembled elsewhere.

Did you also know that Omega manufactures a lot of their parts in China?

I think altomic thought the title said from US.

      Hi,

I'm General Pavel, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee.

We only use NATO straps from natostrapsco.com, mainly for the medium weave ballistic nylon material.
You just never know when matters will get out of hand and go ballistic, and when they do, we'll still know the time, for a while, with the cockroaches.

      Regards,

      Petr.

Well, that settles it for me. On the basis of the esteemed General's recommendation my planet will order 700,000 of these ballistic straps to attach miniature neutron bombs to mutant cockroaches we developed and Earth will soon be our latest holiday resort. Nothing personal, it's just that we have evolved.

  • Ultrasonic welded Straps at US $9.99 / AU $7.91 and Stitched (highly suggested) at US $10.90 / AU $10.90

    That doesn't seem right.

Also, can't seem to find information on this:

Every Nylon NATO® Strap is 'Buy One Get One Free'.

    • Thanks for that. I cut and pasted some from a previous deal and missed that.

      • No problems, was thinking of purchasing some myself, but can't decide on design/colour.

(Crown and Buckle](http://www.crownandbuckle.com/) are also having a sale starting today. Maybe check them out too as they have good reviews.

Panatime also has 35% off. In addition, you can try DISC10 for another 10 off! I believe Panatime now has the same owners as NatoStrapCo.

There are also some AlphaShark by BluShark on Amazon that don't normally post to Australia. They are more expensive, but high quality Seatbelt style fabric.

@ilikeit: I had a hard enough time with the selection from Nato Strap Co, and you add another 2 site on me…I'll be here all night trying to make a decision.

@RichardL: Make that 3! I have a 'Grey Matter' strap from NSC and it goes with anything in my collection. I'm looking for navy for my blue Seiko diver.

These are good prices for decent quality Nato straps.

  • just want to correct the OP and point out that this is the closest thing you can get to THE "Bond strap":

    https://natostrapco.com/collections/all-watch-straps/product…

for extra authenticity, order a 20mm strap on 22mm lugs.

    • You certainly know your Bond movies. Bonus point if you can remember the watch. Kind of funny how everyone got it wrong for so long.

      • not just a black submariner?

        • Yep

    • +1

I am pretty sure the submariner is a 20mm lug not 22mm
