I've been watching this for a while now, 426 at MSY, so under 300 landed AUD is a dead set bargain… even the ebay 20% sales don't get anywhere near this.
(Price is 199usd plus shipping)
Don't know who marked this expired but it's still going!!

This is the flagship gigabyte board for the coffee lake CPU's..

I figure the black Friday sales are coming up but i doubt it will get cheaper, and with Amazons price guarantee (edit: not sure if they have this anymore so don't rely on it), even if it is, they have a price change policy. (Items purchased less than 7 days ago.)

GIGABYTE Z370 AORUS Gaming 5 is also 169.99 USD (224 AUD) - again about 100 cheaper than AU - but has been this price for a while. (not too much difference between the seven and 5)

I had a high failure rate with gigabyte motherboards.

And international warranty with gigabyte head office is a hit and miss

had my last motherboard from my i7-920, x58 extreme - still going strong, think in there top end boards its much of a muchness, everyone has there favorites…8 years?

My GA-X58A-UD7 has been running 24/7 since 2011. Time for an upgrade!
(or wait for the Z390 boards)

        • Wow that takes me back. I used to have this board as well and it was bulletproof.

      • +1

It's a fantastic price but as the main component for your PC, I'd recommend you get it locally unless your happy to go without a PC for a month or so in the event your mobo dies

        • +2

Hmm, how long does it take for a local store to get a replacement sent out? The last time I brought something back to a store (non-ELF), they had to test it to confirm the problem, send it to the distributor who would then send a replacement. Took a lot longer than I was hoping.

I wonder if Amazon does advance shipping of replacement boards like they do with some other products. I also wonder how they would deal with people sending back perfectly-working boards too, with problems due to user error.

      • EX58-UD4P here, still rocking strong on my 920 as well. Been running @ 200 BCLK everyday for the last 9 years.

    • i switched from asus after the z170 model … i had one of the higher end models … 3 returns and decided just to sell it after than… switched to gb since then and both high end boards have been good.

but yeah, i'd stick to local for the mobo… and then again, i'd stick to intel.

and then again, i'd stick to intel.

They've stopped making desktop motherboards though.

        • i meant cpu wise … but yeah back in the day intel mobos was it for reliability.

        • @hippyhippy: What was the returns process like for your faulty boards?

        • @eug: i bought from msy and funnily enough they did instant swap for new for me.

        • @hippyhippy: Haha that's unusual, judging from their customer service reputation. Was it ELF or did they problems occur a few months in?

        • @hippyhippy: I've never had a amd mobo die on me, Asus ones always needed a new bios battery though :p.

Went Intel once got nothing but problems with it, if I had gone ddr4 at the time I'd have moved on but with the price of ddr4 not any time soon…

        • @Slippery Fish:

I'm using an AMD chipset mobo that right now i've been using for years. An ASRock 990FX Extreme6 with an AMD FX-8320 CPU. It's still on the original battery too. Hasn't missed a beat.

        • @hollykryten: yes Asus 10ish years ago though.

    • Must be those cheaper low end Gigabyte motherboards. High end motherboards would be way better in quality.

    • I'm with EasternCulture. I haven't touched a Gigabyte product since for the 3 failures I had and lack of RMA and never had a problem.

    • I've never had any Gigabyte board fail.

      • How many have you had?

  • Purchased, Thanks

  • Got excited, thought it said Amazon landed

    • +1

      Any day now!.

Black Friday is the day πŸ‘πŸ»

  • I've got the z270 version. Excellent board. I've only had issues with low end Gigabyte boards, but this is the top of the line

  • Wait, theres actually cpu's for these boards now?

  • +1

Does it mean you have to buy DDR4 RAMs for the build?

RAM prices at the moment are sky high. Haven't seen a bargain for a while.

    • Newegg has some cheaper DDR4

  • -6

    What a waste of money.

  • Time for an upgrade! It's been 9yrs since my last build i7-920(ASUS P6T) <— rock solid but iteration/rendering times are slow. Coffee lake here I come.

    • I hope you got your order in on time as this has now sold out.

      • i've decided to wait for intel to replenish stock b4 jumping on a motherboard

  • Cheapest is now $199.99 USD + delivery. The listing by that seller has disappeared from the list of sellers too. I would say this has sold out from that seller and the deal is over.

    • $199.99USD+$17.10 delivery - still worth?

    • Sorry, it's plus post… 199 plus post… There wasn't a cheaper one.

  • hi5 to people still using i7-920, im waiting for mine to die, but its still going strong lol

    • +1

That's what I'm upgrading from! When the eighth gen came out I decided it was finally time.

  • flaghsip ?

Where are the 8 slot DDR4 ram boards ?

    • +1

Sounds like you’re looking for X299 motherboards.

  • Just a heads up, the Gigabyte Z370 boards have issues with really hot vrms. This is usually caused by the vrm heatsinks not being screwed in tight enough

    • fixed by screwing it on tighter?

  • OP. It's $199.99 USD + delivery, not $199 USD. It's no wonder i got confused.

    • yep, hence why i updated the title, and the description and responded to your comment…

      • Sorry but the title still says $199 USD + delivery when the item is really $199.99 USD + delivery. That's nearly $1 USD out. That's the same as saying a $200 item is really $199.

        • OIC. your complaining about 0.99c

        • @wisc:

Yes. Every dollar counts into the deal equation. This is Ozbargain after all.

        • @hollykryten: or, in this case, every cent counts as we haven't quite made a dollar here, have we?

        • @wisc:

Over a figure of 1c at $199.99 USD to get to $200, it might as well be $200 USD. You round up in that case you don't round down nearly a whole $1. :)
