When I go to the site it's 329 Video Doorbell 2. So what's free? The Video Doorbell doesn't ring by itself?

  • Video Doorbell will provide alert on your mobile device (IOS / Android) but also Ring provide a chime for inside your house if you dont have your mobile phone.

    • What's the value of the chime?

      • $59

So…. if I pay $329 or $379 you will give me a free chime sound that plays inside my house?

…and you used to have to pay for this feature? What does it cost normally to buy a sound for a doorbell?

Ring Protect Plan is an optional plan that covers monitoring and video recording services for Ring devices. With Ring Protect Plus you'll be able to save up to 60 days of Ring videos for a reasonable price. This lets you check out alerts at your convenience even if you miss one and makes sure that your home is always protected. The following article details some of the frequently asked questions concerning Ring Protect Plan subscriptions.

Do I have to subscribe to the Ring Protect Plan service?

No. The Ring Protect Plan service is completely optional. However without the service, your Ring Protect System will only send alerts to your smart phone and will not call authorities. In addition you will not be able to record or review Ring videos

  • Misleading title, makes it look like saving is $329. It says $59 on the website. Besides $59 is pricy speaker providing it has to be used with a doorbell.

    • I agree. Why would I pay $329 for a free overprice bell and besides what's stopping someone from flicking this device.

Back in my day if you bought a doorbell it was just assumed it would come with a chime.
