For those who missed the $1,599 from Dick Smith and the $1,691 from JBHifi(+$100 back from PayPal), this is the best price currently available for this TV. Everyhere else seems to have reverted to around the $1990 mark. Or you could wait for the next retailer to have a massive sale….

It's a great TV. No regrets. Got one for $1900 when they had the free PS3 promotion (which took 2 months to arrive!).

The very tempting DSE $1599 deal may well be over now, but every store I went to last Friday had one of these fine sets on display. The DSE I went to had it with a sticker price of $1599, the others had $1900 odd. But either way, the fact that there are a lot of these 55"s about, and they are slightly old tech now, I'd be expecting them to go below 1.5k sometime before xmas.
I wanted a PS3 as well, so by the time I added the cost of that to this TV, in my case I was better off going for the newer LED 3D 46" here http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/34188. But I sure was tempted by that extra 9".
Wow this TV has shed hundreds since the free PS3 promotion a few months ago. Absolute steal I reckon, our family love it.
