It doesnt close all the way when you press the button, kind of half closes, then you have to push the top so it clicks into the handle.

Bought one yesterday at COSTCO for $12ish - it opens and closes with the same button, but while closing the stalk does not retreat, only the umbrella cloth area closes, you will have to push the stalk down to close it all the way
Meh.. seems very similar to an umbrella I bought from Officeworks years ago for $15. I think it was a Korjo windproof travel umbrella. Was on special a while back.

If you still have to push a button to open/close, its not automatic. its still manual.
Thats why they call them automatic wipers on cars that detect rain. and your typical rain wipers where you need to flick the switch, not automatic…
Worse than that you actually have to undo the clasp yourself before you open it AND you have to retract the shaft manually (yes I get how that sounds) to close it. I would have hoped automatic would at least mean it returns back to it's starting closed position at the push of a button.
All that said I'd hate a truly automatic umbrella especially if my water bottle leaks while the umbrella is in the bottom of my bag.

Umbrellas != windscreen wipers.

This umbrella is fully automatic in the 'up' action, and partially automatic coming down.
Agree with all of these comments this is not "automatic".

What I don't get is why Xiaomi doesn't have all of its products on its website so we can compare. There is obviously two different umbrellas but don't know which one is better than the other (one heavier but that doesn't mean anything).
