    Lol @ that picture

  • They're getting rid of these? Nooooooooo :(

  • Just picked mine up, purchased in conjuction with this deal from a few days ago - it's compact but not as small as I thought, just a regular handbag/backpack size brolly, allegedly windproof. Anyway, handy to have when you're O/S and it's raining I suppose.

Thanks but too late now #adelaide

looks like a $2 shop umbrella but for $10! LoL

  • Anyone can confirm or vouch for its windproof-ness? Looks like a normal umbrella to me

    • +6

"It has a windproof function which allows you to revert the umbrella if inverted by wind by simply pressing the open button" LOL so not technically windproof.

      • +2

Haha just read that. Also read - "You can easily open your umbrella using the automatic opening and closing system" - sold on the automatic closing!

        • ^this, most umbrellas this size don't have automatic opening, or they come with a hefty price tag. But automatic closing? LOL
I have one of these, it's great, definitely feels sturdier than other ones, but no automatic closing

        • @girliebird: The open button can be used to close it partially. It is good when you are getting on to public transport. Just press the button & board instead of trying to close the umbrella & getting wet in the process.

        • @Ronney: Oh ok cool, thanks for that!

      • That's a shame. I was hoping to parachute from an air balloon.

One guy already tried this with a patio umbrella with the same inversion "flaw" (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2287015/Erik-Roner-I…).

I have been using these for a while. The "windproof-ness" function has worked for me on several occasions.

    • +2

I bought mine @officeworks a few years ago & it is still as new. Good solid umbrella. Can open the umbrella when it is completely closed by pressing a button. The same button can be used to close it partially. It is good when you are getting on to public transport. Just press the button & board instead of trying to close the umbrella & getting wet in the process.

I've found that Oroton has the clearance outlet at most DFO's at 70% off - bringing them to $15(small)-30(large) pricemark. The once I got were VERY well built and look quite nice too.

    • +1

Bought the large Oroton one for $30 at DFO - not very wind resistant and now one of the spokes is bent.

Now using the 'wind resistant' Uniqlo ones instead:

    • The small one wasn't very good. Frame died quite quickly.

    • Got mine free with 200 spend at the last big sale, not sure if it's the small or large, it's about medium

  • In Hobart I saw my friend holding a huge study umbrella but nearly blown away with his umbrella…..Would this prevent that? I think not.

    • +4

Yes this umbrella combats being blown away. With this umbrella you point it into the wind, and have it fully closed.

I've had one of these for about the last 8 years up until one very strong gust of wind broke one of the arms. I recently replaced it with 2 more purchased off ebay for about $15 each. I went out of my way to purchase these specific umbrellas. They're excellent, click to release, click to retract, then push down. Perfect compact size for a bag or handbag. Surprisingly sturdy and they will reverse many times in wind without breakage. Downsides? Probably a little small and the bottom of your legs get wet in strong rain and wind. $10 each is an amazing price.

Excellent compact umbrella and a great price too. Mine is still going strong after over 5 years and lots of Queensland rain.

  • Just picked up the last one on the shelf at South Yarra office works. Thanks OP!

Quite a few at Northmead Officeworks.

  • NO click and collect anymore

  • None left in North Sydney.

    • Woah got one at like 1PM and there was 5 left.

    • Is this confirmed? Its says it has stock in store when you check on the website. I was going to go after work…

      • Confirmed, I check about an hour ago too. The internal system showed all sold out, while the website showed stock.

        • Thank you. Much appreciated.

  • Looks like this umbrella is getting ozbargained. Just bought the last two from Officeworks Bourke St VIC. Saw quite a lot at the counter when I was there on Monday night and thought $10 is the normal price.

I ended up buying one and a spare because the one I was using (not the same model) ended up getting spoiled so thanks OP!

Out of stock everywhere near the CBD, rang Pitt St and Hunter St and Clarence St is showing no stock.

  • 2 left at Alexandria, on the side of the aisle near the luggage

    • There was 10 an hour ago, at this rate they're gone by now. :P

  • Thanks OP, just bought the last 2 at Melbourne QV store.

  • 5 left at the frankston store

  • For those missing out I bought a bunch Japanese compact umbrellas from Daiso for $2.80 They're pretty good quality and quite compact also.

    • Just as an FYI, a lot of Daiso products sold here are made in China these days, even a lot of the stuff in Daiso Japan now too, sadly. Check the tags, the quality is often "different".

      • "different".

        As in "non-existent"?

        • Different, as in quality and/or design. I was being polite. Can give actual examples if curious, but of course, it's just my opinion/experience.

Check the tags to see where things are made, so you are making an informed choice to purchase.

        • Currently in Japan. They actually label the items made in Japan "Made In Japan" and these items are more expensive than the Japanese branded items made in China

I have never seen so many types of umbrellas, all at different price points and quality. I think the Japanese know their umbrellas since it rains so much. 😀

  • I had one sitting around in my bag for a few months waiting for a windy day & when it came, I saw one of the spokes were broken! The spokes are really thin and weak.

    • Did you dry it before putting back in your bag though? These kind of umbrellas tend to get rusty at the joints if not dried properly.

      • Pretty sure this one is aluminium and fibreglass, without any metal parts that will rust. Like I said, mine is still going strong after 5 years of abuse.

  • there is one left at hunter street cbd sydney when they closed

  • Perfect for tomorrow in Sydney

  • Have one of these, or at least an older version, snapped a cheaper brand in the wind on the first day of use, this one has lasted through 3 years of windy days (it has the same product name but I cannot see from the pictures).

The one I have has re-inforced plastic struts (which flex in the wind but don't invert) and the button inverts the umbrella (apparently, have never had to use it).

  • Still 3 left at Officeworks Belconnen as of ~8:50am this morning. Call to confirm the stock before you visit perhaps.

I concur with the other commenter that said your legs will still get pretty wet if you are tall or if the rain is heavy enough. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has tried both these Korjo's and also the Woodworm umbrellas that show up on here every so often as to which is better.

    • +1

It is a compact umbrella so it doesn't provide as much coverage. However in some conditions your legs will get wet no matter how big the umbrella is.
