    Free Lunch at…

    No such thing…

    • +1

If you ever attended any of these finance type events, you could just attend and listen to what they say and have lunch for free at the side

      • +1

you could just attend and listen

That means you don't value your time then…

It's only free if I can just walk in, eat, and leave.

This post is just SPAM of your conference.

        • +1

You could essentially do that mate if you're time poor and if the food are already presented when you get there.

Have clarified with mods I am not affiliated with these people organising the conference

          @leockl:

You could essentially do that mate if you're time poor

It's not free, you need to give them your time.

        • @jv: it's not compulsory to stay and listen to what they say mate, so it's your choice

If you attend these events frequent enough, you would know what I mean mate

        • +2

@leockl: You tried to post an affiliate link though…

        • @Kyanar: It wasn't an affiliated link, it was a screen shot of the email I received, but mods change that to the direct link of the eventbrite site

        • @leockl: For clarification, the link in the description in the first revision of this post was an affiliate link. However, OP explained that it was the link from the email he received. That has been sorted out, so it's all good.

          @moocher:

          so it's all good.

          It's not all good.

This is a post for a 'free' seminar where salespeople try to spruik their products. These seminars are always free as they only need to 'convince' a small percentage of participants for them to rake in $$$$ in commissions.

It is not a deal for free food.

        • +1

@jv: Lol jv, these events don't usually have salespersons or called brokers in the finance world present. These events are means by the companies to promote themselves and then for investors to get in touch with their own brokers if they are interested or investors doing it themselves via platforms like Commsec etc

        • @leockl:

these events don't usually have salespersons or called brokers in the finance world present.

I see they've brainwashed you already.

        • +1

@jv: Not brain washed but as I said before I do regularly attend these events when I can and know how they work

        • @leockl:

          Not brain washed

Part of the brain washing is to convince you that you aren't brain washed.

        • +1

@jv: How can I be brain washed when I attend and actually see how these events are run lol

  • +2

Being Hotcopper, I'm sure it'll basically be an hour of trying to get you to buy into the latest gold or lithium company that's paying them to spruik it or that they have shares they want to pump and dump.

    • +2

Populated entirely by retirees and midlevel admin workers who think they are going to 'make it big'.

      Hotcopper is cancer.

    • You could always just go for the food lol, finance type events usually have the best lunches

      • +1

Not really. I'd say it'll just be cut sandwiches and juice/water on offer.

        • The last time there were sliders, finger food with coffee/tea and juice etc. Looking at the number of sponsors they have this time, think the food wouldnt be all that bad

      • -3

You could always just go for the food lol

The event is to listen to waffle from salespeople, it's not a deal for free food.

        • +1

As I mentioned before, it's your choice to stay and listen or to go after some lunch

        • -1

          @leockl:

As I mentioned, it's not a free lunch event, it's an investment spruiking seminar… Your title is misleading

        • +1

@jv: What do you think I should put then when the food is free and it's not compulsory to stay and listen

        • @leockl:

What do you think I should put

          What does your link say?

        • +1

@jv: Its pretty much the same as the title I have here lol

        • @leockl:

          or maybe not. lol

  • I’d rock up for a hot copper..

      • You’re assuming I meant a female one…

        • These days you can't be sure if that's a female or a male…

        • @jv: too right, I can see an Adam’s apple there!
