I was looking at next week's catalogue and came across this, they probably realised $1699 was a bit much to ask for this laptop but at $1199 it's a pretty awesome deal (similar to http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/33697 but with a 640gb hdd and blu-ray drive).
Toshiba Satellite A660/07U Notebook $1199 - i7, 1GB GFX, Blu-Ray, 6-Cell @ DickSmith from 09/11

That's the deal killer. I need bit more height for a development machine.

Apparel? can you wear this laptop on your head or something?
yep. something.
Ooh some shoes shoes!
I was wondering where I could go to get better care for my 'fee'.
How did you get the catalogue that early?
Hey cheapo one, could you do me a favour and see if the catalogue has a 12-240v inverter on special? particularly the 300W model. Thanks dude
Is there HDMI?
Yes
How does this handle the modern games?
it's an nvidia GT330m.. it'll be fine on medium settings.. but it's not as good as an ATI 5650/5730
there is L650-07E (i5-520/4gb/500/5650/bluray/no tv) @ jb hifi for $1078.. but only if u can find it in stock in stores
http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/computers-laptops/laptops/tos…
this bargain is incorrect - the model in next weeks catalouge is a A660/07T which has a different processor etc
I am holding the catalogue in my hot little hands :P
oh and its quoted as a saving of $500
shame this deal got me all ready to buy the one originally mentioned :(
If this is in fact the A660/07T model, then the specs are here:
http://dicksmith.com.au/product/XC8884/toshiba-satellite-a66…
The only main difference I could see:
- Intel Core i5 instead of i7
Can anyone else confirm that the deal is for A660/07T and not A660/07U?
This deal does not exist…it's only an i5 with BlueRay for $1199
where can i down load the catalogue to confirm the model today? if its not a core i7 then fix the title and where can i find one for a similar price and specs?
This is an excellent deal for those happy with 1366x768 LCDs. 4Gb RAM, blu-ray reader/DVD writer.

Don't forget to restore the laptop to Win7 Home 64bit, otherwise the full 4Gb of RAM cannot be used.
