Why?
There's no detail on these, so I can't be certain, but I believe this particular headset requires a lifter unless you want to manually take your phone off the hook every time you take a call.
True from what I've seen.
We have one at work and the office staff love it, however it needs a lifter so that when the button on ear piece is pressed it picks up the phone. Otherwise you need to lift the phone or (if phone supports it) get a button programmed on the phone to activate headset.
Ah good, not often that I'm right. I was just wanting to let people know that you can't just buy this, plug it into your phone and go.
However, there is a similar Plantronics headset sitting on my desk at work right now and if I could figure out how to use it and needed to use my phone often, I'm sure it would be good! Everyone else in the office uses them all the time.
Hi,
You can just plug this into your phone & go… but yes, a Lifter (or Electronic Hookswitch if you have the right phone - email us the model & we'll check for you) is required if you want to answer calls while away from your desk. The package price is $289.90.
Cheers
I've been looking at headsets like these. It does seem like a good price, and they have other good prices for the full range of plantronics on their website. Having said that the prices aren't hugely different than you find via staticice.
I've previously seen some Jabra bluetooth headsets - similar to but even more expensive than the Plantronics ones. I was wondering if anyone knows where to buy the Jabra headsets, and if they're any good, any good pricing, anywhere you can see the top of the range models in use. They cost around $500 so i'm a little reluctant to buy one without a bit of a play first.
