  • I can confirm that the sales that went through before the price increase are final. I jumped on their sight and did the online chat. Coincidentaly got a bloke named Jake. So maybe Jakes legit, but it will only be honoured for the people who have already purchased it by the sounds of things.

    Hi all.

    You will be happy to know that Appliances Online WILL be honouring past orders of this KitchenAid Blue Mixer with Spiralizer at the $281 price that happened before the price was adjusted this morning.

    Let me explain what happened here.

    OzBargainers may or may not know that Appliances Online automates the pricing of our entire range of thousands of products. This particular blue KitchenAid Mixer + Spiralizer was loaded into the system without a cost price, which is not supposed to be possible (there are numerous checks so that cost price can not be blank or zero), but it did happen.

    Long story short, as the algorithm attempts to maximize return to the business, it has been testing constantly lower prices to see where the optimal price is. Unfortunately (for Appliances Online), because the pricing system thinks the cost of this product is zero, it did not stop lowering the price of this particular model.

    As @aarick noted, the price of this blue KitchenAid Mixer-Spiralizer has been similar in previous weeks and we have honoured those purchases.

    Fast forward to 12 hours ago and OP posted on OzB.
    We walked into work to discover we had sold 190 of these Mixers-Spiralizers overnight.
    We corrected the price to be the same as the other models.
    Please note that we have to order 184 of these from KitchenAid directly and sell them at vastly under our cost price. Back of napkin calculations show we're taking a $50,000 hit on the chin to honour your orders.

    What does this mean for OzB?

    1. Please be patient if you were one of the 190 orders. It will take some time for the actual new shipment of blue Mixers-Spiralizers to arrive from KitchenAid. I do not have an exact ETA at this moment.

    2. If you absolutely need it ASAP, for those customers keen enough, we welcome you to call our customer support on 1300 000 500 with the relevant information from your confirmation email on hand and we may be able to swap your blue mixer for a different colour that is available. Please note we have a strictly limited stock of the other eight colours.

    3. If you can wait until tomorrow, we will be attempting to call each customer to let you know over the phone that we are honouring your order and ask if you want a different colour (if available).

    4. Further note: the spiralizer is in extremely short supply and may be delivered to you as a separate order from the mixer.

    5. The only thing I would ask of OzBargain is to leave us a review or share your experience with Appliances Online with your mates or online after you get your KitchenAid Mixer + Spiralizer. Feedback (both good and bad) makes us extremely happy and is super valuable for us.

    TLDR: OzB has uncovered a rare pricing error on Appliances Online (pricing team says thanks).
    Appliances Online will honour the sales made at the $281 price
    We will be contacting each purchaser by phone over the next few days to let you know we honour your purchase and ask if you would like to change to a different colour (which means you get your mixer earlier).

    • I managed to order one last night and very happy that price is being honoured. i just got off the phone as was looking to change the colour with something that is stock (like the grey that website says in in stock) and have been advised no longer doing colour change and waiting for delivery information from Kitchenaid. Should get a phone call tomorrow with updated information. Again no complaints from my end even tho colour change would have been great but more than happy with just getting the product.

          Let me rephrase: I had a look at your sales order, I can confirm you got your order in and also that you should be receiving a call from our team sometime tomorrow to ask if you would like your mixer in a different colour.

          I don't know if your order is in our first six orders (i.e. the stock on hand of the blue mixer), but you will get your mixer. Hope that helps and sorry for the confusion.

      That Is Awesome Thanks! This is my first order with Appliances Online and im very happy. Its easy to have good customer service, imho what makes great customer service is how problems are dealt with when something goes wrong. Combine great customer service with a best price guarantee and that's where I will shop.

      I will be in the market for a new fridge, dishwasher and maybe washing machine in november and will definitely be looking at Appliances Online.

      Could we get an update when you have a better idea on when the blue ones would be delivered? (mainly, will they arrive in time for Christmas?). Bought it for the mother in laws Christmas present, +10,000 points.

        I'm very certain you'll get them before Christmas.

        When you made a purchase it probably said something like 17th or 18th October as the expected delivery date, which is our normal turnaround time when we have stock or even when we don't have the stock on hand and we need to order from the supplier.

        However, because we have to order almost 200x additional units, it may take a little bit more time for a whole range of reasons (logistics, finance etc). So no ETA yet, but it will be before Christmas for sure. If I had to guesstimate, late October would be my bet. Once I have more concrete details, I'll update everyone on this thread.

    Didn't buy a KitchenAid, but just wanted to chime in with my awesome experience with AO. I bought my house in March 2015 and turned to AO for my Fridge, Microwave, Dishwasher and Washing Machine. Not only did they offer the best price on all of these appliances, they delivered it all for free on a convenient day, installed it for free and took away the packaging for recycling.
    That in itself is amazing, and when I need to buy more appliances I know where I'll be turning first!

      I total agreed they are very efficient and fantastic to deal with. I remembered I told them other seller are selling cheap. They price match instantly. The delivery man are all so efficient and accommodative too!

        Nothing as efficient as sending them an email just before going to sleep and a response is already sitting in my mailbox by the morning.

        Though the lack of order tracking on their website…kinda suck.

    Got my mixer today in matte black! So excited! Anyone know when the spiralizer will be in stock?

      • Tracking number via SMS and then an invoice of what was shipped.

          I originally got an email saying that it'd be delivered on Monday (two days ago) by one of their drivers and I'd get a call before 10am to advise of a timeframe, presumably a standard email but 10am went by and no-one called so I called them only to be told that the mixers were in their NSW warehouse and being sent via Aus Post! A bit of a waste of time and I still haven't heard anything about whether it's been sent or not even though I've been told the colour I chose (silver) is in stock.

          That said, it's a huge discount so I really have no right to complain, haha.

    Finally got it! Took a while but for the price, the wait was worth it. AO have always been really good, especially with price matching, free delivery and removal of old appliances (particularly helpful for heavy white goods). Thanks a lot!
