Two Person Box, 2 Meals for Free or 3 Meals $4.90 When Using Cash Rewards @ Marley Spoon [VIC/NSW/QLD Metro Only]

340

I just noticed that Cash Rewards have upped the cashback on Marley Spoon to $30. They also offer $35 off the meals (applied directly to item)

Using the link from CR, you will be re-directed to Marley Spoon's website where you can choose from the following options:

2 meals (was $55) now $20 + Cashback $30
3 meals (was 69.90) now $34.90 + Cashback $30
4 meals (was $92.00) now $57.00 + Cashback $30.

Option one seems too good to be true but there is nothing in the terms and conditions that indicate that you cannot choose the 2 meals option and make a profit of $10!

i have used them in the past. Meals are similar to hello fresh, 1 meal easily feeds 3 people, deliveries are done very early in the morning (just like Aussie farmers) and cancellation is super easy on the website. Also, don't forget to cancel it on your Paypal.

  • Is this for new sign ups only?

    • i am assuming yes

  • "We currently deliver to Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Wollongong, Newcastle and NSW's Central Coast."

Might want to mention this is East Coast only.

    • updated. Thanks.

  • This seems too good to be true, relying on cashrewards to pay out or else we lose $20, can someone use it and tell me if it works?

    • i dont get why the negative votes, its just a question?

    • +2

It worked on the herald sun deal which was $1 signup and $20 cashback, do they’re very reliable in my eyes (CR that is)

      • Sweet, thank you for the answer :) WIll do.

      Retailer: Marley Spoon
Date of sale: 11 Oct 2017
      Sale value: AUD 69.00 *
      Expected cashback: AUD 21.00

        Actually paid $34.90 via paypal.

    • I agree with you.
Cashrewards fails sometimes, including $60ish for a Lenovo Laptop which I wouldn't have bought otherwise.
Edit: Like most things, everyone thinks it's 100% reliable until it fails them.

      • I've had the same thing happen, have emailed a few times with no luck but I gave up. I'm sure if you kept trying you'd be alright

        • A rep just PM'd me to help out, so might be okay after all :)

          Update:
The cashback was in the pending state, not failed. The cashback has come through now.
I wish I'd cashed in on this deal before it expired lol.

  • They didn't track my hello fresh order so YMMV

Didn't bother following it up though

    • Didn't track my AFD order from a couple of weeks back either, despite the click-out showing in my account, and the order being placed two minutes later.

EDIT: Thanks to some intervention from tightarse here, this has now been resolved with CW, and they have credited my account for AFD promotion - yay!

  • How long does it take to track cashback? I bought mine and i havent got confirmed for cashback yet

  • Damn, ordered Marley Spoon when it was $14 cashback last week.

Transaction hasn't been tracked so i'm waiting to see if it will show up in the next two days

    • Me too. Doh!

  • +1

Signed up for the $34.90 box. Cash Rewards tracked it within 5-10 mins. Only thing is it shows up as $21 Cash Rewards, not $30 like it’s meant to be!. Don’t know why that’ll be, will have to follow up with them. Still damn cheap for three meals! They look good too, plus you can change and pick meals that suit you.

    • Same. But expected CR payout now adjusted back to $30 in my account.

  • +2

So cash back is actually $21 not $30. and also note it pre-approves Marley Spoon to automatically charge you in the future. If you used Paypal you can cancel this pre-approval under setting.

  • Can confirm I only see $21 off in CR. Also, I went into the settings on Marley Spoon account and set it to skip the next 7 weeks of deliveries after the first delivery, with the reason being I want to try the first box and see how the quality is.

If I want to cancel the service, would I need to cancel the credit card payment now? Or should I wait until after the first delivery happens (23rd October)?

    • +1

I used Paypal and the transaction payment for the first week has been deducted. I went into settings and cancelled my pre-approved payment plan.

      • So you can cancel the payment plan straight away without affecting the first delivery? Gonna do that right now before I forget.

        • yup

  • It's $12 cashback now!

  • +1

Changed as i was putting it through :( BOO.

    Ah well :D

  • Shown as $12, voucher became inapplicable while ordering.

  • +1

Mine is also $21 cashback. After purchasing, I can see that bonus cashback in now $12 on CR with no promo code.

  • This was the promo code from CR for anyone still wants to order: GH66TP99Q2

  • -1

Now the waiting game to see if Marley Spoon will actually honour the cashback

Would be good to know if MS approved the cashback offer with the coupon code or if it was an error from cashrewards updating the cashback page

    • I contacted CR and they put my cash-back amount up to $30, not sure if that's what you mean, sorry.

      • Did the same as you.

  • Was sent email that expected CR would be $21, despite showing $30 when I clicked through.

Checked CR now - $30 pending.
I expect there were a few complaints from Ozbargainers & rep TA is excellent sorting out these issues.

Thanks CR & those who helped sort this out👍

    5:30 & waiting on delivery by 7am…
Silly me - delivered next Monday😣
It will be a busy delivery day for Marley Spoon.

  • Did anyone actually receive their delivery?

Their contact number doesn't even work…
    02 6145 2910

    • I did this morning.

I got the 2 meals x 2 portions. However, it seems like I have been shortchanged 2 meals (received only 2 meals x 1 portion) as there was only one rump steak pack and one pork loin instead of 2 each. Contacted them via email; no response yet.

        Underwhelmed!!
Seems very small amount delivered for normal price of $55 (paid $20 less $30 CashRewards to come by 09 Jan 2018!).

        Your plan:
        Two-Person Box
        Meals: 2

1 small paper bag for each meal, plus refrigerated meat etc in foil bag. Weighed ingredients…

Ordered 2 serve per meal of

Balsamic Beef Rump with Chive Mash and Green Vegetables:
Paper bag contained 100g beans, couple of garlic chives, 3 small potatoes (600g).
Foil bag of 230g Steak, 110g peas
(BYO balsamic, honey, mustard, butter, milk, oil)

Lemon and Feta Chicken with Pan-Fried Beans:
Paper bag contained Tinned Cannellini Beans (400g), parsley (10g), 1 garlic clove (15g), onion (85g), lemon (120g).
Foil bag of 250g chicken, 175g peas, 50g Feta.

Guess that might be their portion size for 2 people per meal - it's what I eat, but may be tiny for many.

I had opposite reaction to large amount in free Aussie Farmers delivery that cost less at full price ($50). Meal sizes were generous & lots of ingredients left over for more meals.

Canceled my subscription after order arrived at 1am today. Not worth the money & limited menu choices.
        Waiting for $10 profit…

        • Can't imagine only having a 230g steak by myself let alone sharing….

Their email team replied and comped the next box.. Hopefully they will actually deliver this time!

        • @mustkill:
I choose to limit animal protein rich food to around 120g/meal I prepare. But seems meagre for meals we buy.

I like my veggies, but even those are cheap (ordinary tinned beans, fresh beans, peas, potatoes) & bit limited (800g - mainly tinned beans or potatoes) for 2 serves per meal.

And no sauces etc included is pretty stingy (Aussie Farmers included sachets of most of those & oils). Would expect Balsamic Beef Rump to include Balsamic vinegar.

Ordering ingredients from supermarkets online for delivery based on online recipe may be better deal than paying full price.

        Having eaten the meals…

Each meat pack contain 2 pieces for 2 serve meal. 2 meat packs only come with 4 serve meal.

So correct amount provided. For me (bigger male) each serve with veggies was a bit large.

Herbs (garlic chives) became mush in fridge after a few days. Substituted fresh from garden.

Having to provide own sauces was a pain as was out of mustard when I wanted to cook (left it out as only had wasabi). Small sachet of sauces would be very helpful inclusion at little cost. If you've got to duck out to shops for ingredients, you might as well buy the whole lot there!

  • Wasn't impressed by the 2 meal choices - pretty uninspiring & bland.

  • 2 meals (was $55) now $20 + Cashback $30

    💰💰💰$10 profit Confirmed!!💰💰💰
Received $30 payout from CashRewards on $20 2 meal purchase. Bargain!

great outcome! Got paid to have 2 meals :)

      • Thanks for the great deal👍
Being paid to eat - my kind of work🍛
