I think retailers need an OzBargain alert feature, that is activated whenever an item receives a large number of hits and isn't flagged as amazing special.

        • +13

          @mathew42: Shhhhhhhh!

    • i would be sad and angry, except i remembered i dont even need this

    Limit 3 per Broden

    • +21

Let me get this straight - Broden was a user who, in 2011, bought 10 PS4s and sold them at a profit. That's all he did and 6 years on, we're still making jokes about it?

      • +10

        Yes indeed.

        • +8

Hahahahahahaha. Poor guy. His username probably doesn't help either, sounds like one of those obnoxious, selfish jock types, or is that just me?

        • @The Wololo Wombat: Yeah, you're right. It's just you that the username probably doesn't help either, and sounds like one of those obnoxious, selfish jock types. ;-)

      • +2

Also the fact He was caught out for posts on other forums he had been 'massaging' the truth on OzB

he said was giving away one to a sick kid so cant be that terrible of a person, just opportunistic.

Also lol hes still active on OCAU, so is probably still active here just with a new account

        • FWIW he also adopted an alternative storyline rather than stick wiv the sick kid

      • +2

        the internet never forgets

      • +5

What about the poor westpac investor? He posted just once and his jokes keep coming. I wonder where he is now

      • +2

        I miss broden :(

      • +1

We like to joke but imo Broden was just a businessman.

      • PS4 in 2011?

        • Maybe it was the PS3 lol

        • My exact thought; was thinking..

Damn, these people are gansta, messing with an obvious time traveller.!

      • there ain't no bromance, just broden.

  • 100% pricing error. Store credit perhaps. No way they'll honour.

    • I'd rather a full refund then store credit.

      • +2

        they offer refund.

      • +22

I'd rather a full refund then store credit.

You're asking a bit much to get a full refund plus store credit.

        • +1

why too much? refund is a must already. and store credit is the compensation to their mistake.

        • @baldur: And that's what they're doing, according to some of the members who reported they received the cancellation call/email.

        • My apologies, I stand corrected.

        • -1

Well they should offer a refund only then, instead of tying up your money as store credit.

      • +2

Never make a grammar mistake on OzBargain, my friend. Focus, 'then' type, 'then' focus again.

  • +1

Ordered! Let's see how this goes. Nice find!

  • +15

Ordered 3, delivered. Will report back.

This was me when I saw it on pricehipster this morning: https://imgur.com/7YZzmeK

    • Smarter option because you'll get more store credit if they dont honour it.

    • +10

Just got off the phone to Fyshwick GG as I rushed Paypal and used wrong address. Lady on phone took new address and said "we'll get those out for you today". The plot thickens.

      • +3

        Cancellation email received.

  • +6

OP had the dedication to copy and paste all the information about the speaker for us.. i doubt anyone cared to read and just brodened.

    Thanks OP

    • +1

Part of the community service but yeah agree 100%

      • I read it lol, was like hmm I could use this, not knowing huge price diff and obvious error and now regret lol. But thanks op.

    • TIL brodened.

Will now be a regular in my vocabulary, thank you :D

  • Do they normally do a partial credit (like a $10 voucher) or full amount?

  • Professionals on the task. Ordered …let's see how it goes

  • +1

Last time i bought from TGG they had the samsung galaxy s7 cover for $2 & they honoured it

    • +2

Smaller loss though. $150 loss for each unit in this case.

      • +2

Smaller loss though. $150 loss for each unit in this case.

Why would you assume their buy price was $150?

        • +2

          @TheOneWhoKnocks:
Again… Why would you assume their buy price was $150+ for these units.

If their buy price was $119 they would only be losing $100 per unit.

Selling something at cost is not a loss for example.

        • +5

I have no idea what you're trying to say. Bye.

        • +4

          @TheOneWhoKnocks:

I have no idea what you're trying to say. Bye.

Seriously? If you buy something for $100 and I give you $50 for it how much have you lost?

          A) $100
          B) $50
          C) $157.65

        • +12

          @Maverick-au:
          My dignity

        • +2

@Maverick-au: Maverick, you're actually not as correct as you think you are. The loss here is compared to the money that they would have made selling it at a regular price.

        • +2

@TenaciousTom: I understand what you mean Tenacious, put how do you lose something if you have never had it?

        • +3

          @Maloo:

I see both sides of the discussion - but the loss (whilst not in $$ out of the pocket) comes from the opportunity cost of the sale - ie not achieving budget on this line.

If you have to take an item off the shelf @ $19.00 then you cannot sell it to the person that walks in off the street for $169.00 - net reduction in profit of $150.00

        • @Maloo: Two perspectives here - of the buyer and the shop. OP is referring to the shop.

        • @Sainter Dad:

If you have to take an item off the shelf @ $19.00 then you cannot sell it to the person that walks in off the street for $169.00 - net reduction in profit of $150.00

How do you arrive at that figure?

If I paid $100 for a widget and put it on the shelf for $169 and it sold at a cheaper price so the next person who arrives to buy it at $169 couldn't how exactly have I lost $150+ in profit when the gross profit was a maximum of $69 in the first place?!?!?

        • @Maverick-au:

          Cost $100 - sale to Ozbargainer $19 - loss of $81.00
          Cost $100 - sale to Joe Schmoe $169 - profit of $69.00

          $81.00 + $69.00 - net profit movement of $150.00

        • @Sainter Dad:

          $81.00 + $69.00 - net profit movement of $150.00

Thanks, I understand what you're getting at now but these are fast to restock and realistically how many would be sold at full price in the 3-4-5 days until they are? You could also fuffill the discounted stock from the new stock coming in so the actual figure is a lot lower.

        • @Maverick-au:

Because potentially they will be sold at 169 a pop

the calculation is not to calculate the sunk cost but the opportunity cost.

so 150 is correct from finance perspective

It is regardless how many units will be sold if it is full price. Because you can argue they will all eventually be sold at 169… you can never know.

        • @ssyl9:

And what I said was that they can replenish to stock within days which is something you haven't taken into account or even supply the online orders a few days later thus avoiding shelves going empty.

  • +3

    now we wait

    • +6

      For our refund

      • For our gift voucher compensation ( that's what I got last time)

        • Did you get a full refund + gift voucher?

        • +6

          @Neis: both :).

Funny enough I used the gift voucher to buy a ue boom 2

        • @harkoliar: AHAHAHA YES you're an actual legend!

Dedicated to bargains. Purchased while commute on crappy Sydney trains with no data reception. Thanks OP! lets hope they do something about honouring it.

    • I did too

    • +2

I was landing in Melbourne from Sydney when I saw this. Ordered 1. Let’s see how we go!

    • They really need to fix reception on the train lines, it's a joke! Sat there for 5 minutes waiting for my payment to go through because of this.

      • +1

Trains, internet - 3rd world problems - may as well be in Bangladesh.
