  • All good if you can live without B28 and Snap Dragon :)

    • Also no B5 for Voda either. Otherwise, great specs for price.

    • Which network is B28?

      • +1

        Optus, Telstra

        • Thanks. Does it mean that it will work poorly on Optus & Telstra networks?

        • +1

doesn’t mean it works poorly on optus or telstra but doesn’t work as good as it could on optus or telstra of it had band 28.

        • +1

My phone does not have b28 but everywhere I go (Canberra, Braidwood, Broulee) - there is LTE from Optus. So it is nice to have but depends on where you use the phone.

  • Does this have a notification led?

    • +1

      apparently so

  • 4GB / 32GB version for $10 more o aliexpress. Worth it?

  • LeEco - a name synonymous with the highest handcrafted and unique quality available. These are made in Germany and designed by the top technicians in the world, right? :)

    • +1

I have a Le Max 2 that I got for $220 on a previous deal. These phones were well designed and built however software support is a bit iffy now the company is going bust.

      • software support is iffy on many of these phones are they have a short “ sell as many as you can before competitor had model with newer cpu”
its only the bigger brands that offer 2 android updates eg moto g4 plus and g5 plus , samsung, as they sell the model for longer.

    • +2

"Iggemo" nice one, you show me a phone made in Germany???

    • +1

not sure it u were being sarcastic.. but not to confuse other readers and be clear, it's Chinese..

      • +4

okay, to be clear what im saying is this is utter junk.

It's almost a PSA at this point to let ppl know not to buy this garbage. As an owner of bluboos and doogees, HTCs and xiaomis, i strongly recommend to anyone considering buying this phone to spend the slight amount extra and get a Xiaomi.

Not only is the GPS, camera, and other features sub-par on the cheaper junk, they actually will fail google safetynet test soon if they don't now, and that means you won't be able to run many google apps. This is an important point that should be made known to the public when they consider buying these kinda brands.

My advice - go with xiaomi

        • +1

No issues at all here … not sure what you're talking about. Works really well for me.

        • +3

My advice if you get a Xiaomi is to replace the firmware with something closer to stock Android.

Subjectively: MIUI is rubbish and the developers spend all their time adding eye candy and irrevocably entwining the MI OS into Android rather than updating or fixing it.

Objectively: MIUI is full of phone home crap and personally one load (Google) is more than enough already.

        • +2

          @4wd:
I wish these people that bag MIUI would be specific about why it is rubbish.
We have 2 Xiaomi's here and cannot fault either in any way.

        • @4wd:

I understand you and many others don't like MIUI, just like many don't like Samsung or IOS software.

On the other hand, Xiaomi have done extremely well in last few years to become one of the most popular brands in China, India as well as other parts of the world. Let's not mention how popular Samsung and Apple are.

Like yourself, I like stock/near stock Android, and hence we can buy Nexus or Motorola products.

Differences make the world go around, all good unless we start wars lol.

          @ozhunter68:
          I know, it's why I said "subjectively" - maybe I'm just p****d off with the RN2 fiasco :/

And yes, I now have a Moto G5+, a much better experience out of the box without apps going, "oh, I need internet access before I'll work correctly", not being able to disable half the unnecessary Xiaomi integration without rendering the phone useless, (can't remember how many times I had to restore a nandroid backup to get it working again), or simple things like not having a freaking inaccurate weather report wasting space in the Notification area.

Who knows, maybe it'll be better with the MI A1 but considering they show Mi apps in the screenshots … I'll pass.

But I digress … back to our regularly scheduled bargains.

          :)

        • @4wd:

          Agree, cheers.

        • +1

a lot of people just buy a phone and use it and don’t have the skill to reflash roms.. just put in a sim and use it …. so a phone that works well straight out the box should be a baseline.

for my 10 year old i buy xiaomi as he likes big screens, are well made for the money and he can wait a month for delivery and if he looses them they are cheap ( redmi note 4) , myself i stick with phones that have global support straight out of the box, loved my moto until it fell into water and now i have LG as i can’t afford samsung or apple.

        • @4wd: my two Redmi Note 2s were dud too

  • I'm seeing $115.99. Was this an emailed deal? Might be missing part of the URL to show the lower price.

Edit: Actually, found the email. This link should do it.

  • No chance of ever seeing a nougat rom with this one

    • No chance of ever seeing a nougat rom

      Because it doesn't have eyes?

      • +3

Actually has two: 8.0MP front camera + 16.0MP back camera

  • Question, is this dual sim model both 3G/4G?

  • 1.Does it have NFC?
    2. How good is the camera? Does anyone have experience?

    • +1

I hate to break it to you but good camera and sub-$150 cannot be used in the same sentence.

  • +2

i think this doesnt have 3.5mm headphone jacket so thats a deal breaker for some. otherwise looks awesome. It will allow usb-c aux adapter though

    • +1

      no sd card either

  • They have to be losing money on this

    • Correct, see my comment above.

  • +1

Great phone for the price. I just rooted and installed a 'better' international stock ROM and running without any issues.

  • +3

    Is this one better?

little to no third party ROM for the MTK series of phones

No way to update to 7.0 at this stage with official ROM

best get the better third party supported Max 2 (which i got) and the Pro 3 instead.

  • Mali-T880 MP4 GPU, 105 GFLOPS, should be adequate for 1080

  • Really like how it has no side bezel.
