I've never been able to get nicely cooked chips in mine…

  • should i get this or wait for a Bellini one to go on sale
or pay more for the phillips

    • I have the Phillips one. Its great, but also double the price.
From what I have heard, the Kogan one is decent compared to the Phillips

    • I'm having this dilemma as well…

What does everyone regularly cook in their airfryers? I've read some of the old threads and looked on YouTube for recipes but would like to know what foods are in regular rotation? Thanks!

Schnitzel, pies, pizza slices, spring rolls, fish & chips, dim sims

I do chips, sausages, nuggets, pies, dippy dogs, croissants, calamari and more. Have the Philips XL and love it, not sure this isn't too small though, would be perfect for 2 people but maybe not 4.

      • I don't have this brand but use mine to quickly bake/crisp/roast many microwave cooked/re-heated/thawed frozen foods e.g. fresh croissants from frozen to hot and crispy in 3 mins (incl. 30 secs. in microwave). Also frozen donuts, fish fingers, pies, sausage rolls, Chiko rolls, etc.

    • If its the Bellini one with the touch display, it's breaks easily. After only about 6 months it would change settings on its own, power itself down randomly, and the speaker went demonic.
I nabbed the Kitchen Chef one last deal and it's holding up better.

  • I cook chips in mine all the time. Though the non stick is starting to come off the basket now :(

I wish I had gotten the 4L though. More space is better.

    Tips for chips.

    1. Cut as thick as your finger or more (say 15mm wide). Thin cut just go hard and crunchy. Thick get a bit of crunch on the outside and fluffy and yummy on the inside.
    2. Shake regularly. If they stick to the bottom then tip them all out into a bowl and pull off the stuck ones and shake and put back in with another spray of oil. I do this at 15 - 20 mins and then every 10 mins after that until done. The more chips you have the longer it takes (usually takes around an hr to an hr 10 mins for a 3/4 full basket of thick cut homemade chips).
    3. Cook at max temp which I think is 200 from memory.

Works great for me. Whole family loves them.
