    Have 5 of these. All work as expected, handle fast charging @15W and data transfer on my S8+ with no issues.

    Amazon review by Benson Leung (search his name, he does a lot of Type-C compliance testing) shows it to be safe, correct pullup resistor etc here.

        It's mainly the issue with overloading the charger, as the device is trying to pull too much current.

        Yep. Most phones with QuickCharge nowadays negotiate and charge at a higher voltage like 9 or 12V rather than the standard 5V anyway, so the phone will detect it as a standard charger.

  so im thinking to stock up this, as my next phone would have usb c port, but i have few micro usb already at home.
  any disadvantages using this adapter? (charging time wise) - the adapter will be plugged in permanently to the cable.

  i think this is a cheap way to get usb c cable rather than buy new usbc c and throw away the micro usb?

    No disadvantages that I've observed. As per my comment above, handles fast charging @15W and data transfer on my S8+. I bought a heap to just store in the car, room, bag, by the PC etc for use with Micro USB cables or if I'm out and need to use someone else's.

      yeah not many have usb c in the office, if i have new phone i will need to have adapter ready
