Cant compare budget airline to full service airline
Virgin isn't a budget airline. Business class is prob one of the better going around.
Ok, I know that its not just as simple as $$$ per km, but it really irks me to see that Perth to HK costs $672 for 6,042 km, but it costs $618 to fly from Melbourne to Hong Kong, a distance of 7,427km.
It is nearly 25% further, yet costs less!
