Currently on Amaysim, How much time will it take to port out and back in? Any suggestions on which provider to port out to to make it easier to port back in?
Either Vodafone or Telstra, or their resellers. Ports usually go through within about 10 mins.

two days ago, I ported out my number from OVO to Telstra, after the sim is activated, I ported back to OVO straightaway, less than ten minutes, all done!

The transfer process is not too daunting. Best to transfer out to Telstra (as you can get a free SIM) and then back to Amaysim. There could be a few days where either you will need to buy credit with Telstra or go without making calls/having internet access. Good luck.

Can you view some sort of 'promotion expiry' date in groupon for this deal? I was hoping to hold off until late Oct to activate it but the live chat folks kept saying that I can't use any renewals after the 'promotion expiry' date which is only viewable once I buy the deal in Groupon, and that this date was set by Groupon…

This is from the t&c of the 1.5gb plan. This plan is a 2gb special of that I believe.

@Obs: How do they recoup the charges for excess data usage if it's a pre-paid plan? The excess data usages must be approved by the customer, surely?

Not really, some providers have no expiry, other seem varied.
Do I trust my daughter to stay within the 2gb? Ovo is great that it just cuts off when she uses all of her data.
It just cuts off, that's the beauty of it. Just stay pre paid, that's all. You can also see all calls made through the app so you can log who's she's talking to.

I tried this for few weeks but not months. I redeemed the voucher for a SIM before the expiry date. Sim was delivered to me in hours and I just waited for few weeks and activated it the day before I needed.
Just got off online chat with amaysim and they confirmed this promo started 17th Sep, so if you want to make most of it, you should activate as soon as you get your SIM. because if you wait 5 months to activate for example, then you'll only have 1 month of promo left.
