  • Nice username, welcome to OzBargain.

The Good Guys site seems to be only discounting 10% with the code for this TV (so $2065).

      Lol

I pricematched at Harvey Norman at got it for $1951

      • Great job Happy, out of curiosity which Harvey Norman did you go to? If that particular store has a great price-beat policy then I might have to keep it in mind.

Why would you not purchase from VideoPro ebay for extra ~$15 savings?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/328873

    • Warranty from a big branded store.

      • +5

        Eh?

VideoPro has been around for years and has stores/showrooms you can visit (e.g. not an online only seller)

Plus the 3 year warranty is provided by Hisense Australia.

For the same price I'd buy from VP over HN any day. VideoPro have great service and are more home theatre specialists than HN sales reps.

        • +1

Sure, if you live in Qld. If you live elsewhere in Oz you'll end up having to go to Hisense or ship the Tv back to VP. Las I checked TGG/HN was pretty much everywhere.

Besides, what other service do you need from the retailer if you know you're going to get this tv.

        • @gadget: Hisense do a 3yr in home warranty..

        • @solidussnake: Thanks - didn't know that. Still good to buy from a retailer near you if possible for another avenue of recourse.

  • Patiently waiting for the 70" to hit this price point :P

    • There isn't a 70" in this model this year… there is a 75", but you'll be waiting a while for it to hit this price (if it does at all)!

      • bummer wanted a Hisense Series 7 7000UWG cheap LOL

Wouldn't this LG tv be a better choice at this price range

    https://www.harveynorman.com.au/lg-65-uj654t-4k-ultra-hd-ledโ€ฆ

    • Why?

      • Because lg

        • +3

and they are bad on non-OLED models.

        • @windwai: yep it makes sense as well because otherwise if LGs non OLED tvs were really good then why would you spend an obscene amount of money more for OLED? Companies do it all the time and make sure their low-end or economy offerings aren't too good so there isnt a chance they will cannibalize sales of the high end range.

      I like my LG.

I just bought the model up, the 65UJ752T for $2300ish from the good guys.

I went in thinking I would buy the Hisense, but the picture quality just didn't compare. The staff member even let me configure the 65N7 using online guides to get the recommended picture settings

The LG is fantastic and Netflix 4k looks amazing, at a similar price point I think it's a better TV and maybe got hit hard in reviews due to high launch pricing

      • +1

Yeah the 7 Series LG's have that Nanocell tech like the Samsungs did last year. But very good value for money that still has the magic mouse remote :)

        • The nanocell is in the SJ series of LG… not in the UJ6 and UJ7 series. Based on my google search, the UJ series is RGBW, which had some controversy of not being true 4k because of pixel counts and what not.

Despite all the technology differences, the key question for me is; Is the picture quality of LG UJ6 and UJ7 series better compared to Hisense N7?

i've been on panasonic plasma for 7 years so have to change to OLED for anything else to not be a downgrade including the tv you posted lol

    • Why did this get so many negs with not a single comment?

    • I was in the same boat, finally decided to get the 65m7000. Only regret is not getting it sooner. Lot of people commenting on the internet tend to comment without actually having first hand experiences

Hisense have been around a while now, what's the general thought on their longevity?

  • Only problem is input lag. Avoid if you want to play intensive games like FPS / racing.

    This or the iPhone x?
    One has a larger screen.

  • Hey guys. I'm out of date with TV's, although I picked up a 4K Sony for $1.7k at the start of the year (their most basic model - Smart TV, HDR, USB, etc etc).

Surely a better choice than this Hisense?

    • +2

What's point of asking it now

      • I'm just trying to understand why people would pay more for a Hisense than a Sony. Sony is better, right?

  • Can anyone shed any light on the practical differences between the N5, N6 and N7 models?

I've read the specs but really struggle to work out what all this means when you are actually using it on a Friday night.

I'm not a TV/home cinema guy … we use the TV to watch FTA channels, streaming services and DVDs. I'm not looking to hook up you beaut cinema sound solutions and have perfect lighting/viewing conditions etc. Basically I just want to watch the thing.

Does the N7 justify the additional cost or will the N5 be fine?

Should I split the difference and get the N6?

    • +2

They all do 4K… however, the N5 doesn't have HDR, then the N7 has the wider colour gamut and ULED technology over the N6.

FTA and DVD's would do fine with just the N5, but if you want HDR Netflix, UHD Blu-ray, HDR gaming, etc. then the N6 or N7 are a must to get the most out of these.

        Thanks Jad, appreciate the response.

        • +2

Just remember that FTA is not going to look all that great on a 65inch,even the so called HD channels. I have the previous version of this TV, and it's great for anything Full HD or greater

        • Thanks mlburnian, appreciate the response and good to know.
