You'd be better off waiting for at least a week while all the crap listings are finished.
There's probably nothing worse for sellers than a free listing promo! Site gets inundated with rubbish listings, and you save what… 30c?
I'd prefer higher listing fees and lower Final Value fees. That would help enormously in making things better for sellers (esp against overseas sellers spamming the categories)
On the other hand there may also be more traffic from freeloading sellers looking around.
definitely! these weekends are the worst time to list items, as ebay is cluttered with junk that no one wants. and yes higher insertion and lower final value would help remove a lot of the spam. unfortunately stores get very cheap insertion fees so people just spam away.

this is only a saving of 30c per listing… Maybe 60c if you list in two categories.Maybe only really handy if you have a lot of things to list.

I agree that it's minor, nevertheless, it does remove a cognitive barrier to listing — by being able to just list as much as you like without having to prioritise. This may be inconsequential for veteran ebaysmen, but not so much for novices.
The psychological barrier of paying at all is also removed.
The financial barrier is also removed if you are really low on cash (or are just challenging yourself to one of those swap campaigns in which you trade low-value objects for higher-value objects until you get a speedboat or something.)

I have used this promotion previous time with ebay. This is crap. I listed an item. Nothing is for free. There is the same condition in this deal I have contacted the ebay they said that there is a condition:
Aircraft parts and accessories, Boat parts and accessories, Caravan parts and accessories, Car parts and accessories, Motorcycle parts and accessories, Trailers parts and accessories and Truck parts and accessories are included.
The ebay support said that it is for those items only. I am so pissed when a publisher of the deal (the.piemaker in this case)did not confirm it Why to list it ? just for the sake to appear on the web site??!!!. Such a lousy job.

Pretty sure those items you listed are EXCLUDED not included. There is no inclusion list, you can list in pretty much any category that isn't vehicle related.

It is exactly what i told to ebay. read my conversation with ebay please. are you still sure? well done by leaving 1 more + vote i did not make it up. i've just got the problem with ebay proving something that i saw in the poster like this. It is just above exclusions that is saying included and ebay is picking on it. It is misleading ad.
BTW that what i thought no inclusion list but there is a small bullet point in the conditions right on the top of the exclusions' paragraph. I lost this argument with ebay. I asked them to escalate it to complaint but in 5 days no one contacted me. it is just less than a dollar for me but looks like people go for multiple listings I do not want them to be in my position. If anyone has got the insertion fees and gallery for free with this promo ( usually it is shown right away) I'd like to hear it
You're right. The terms are really poorly written.
It looks like they're saying that vehicles are excluded, yet, vehicle accessories are included, and perhaps nothing else is. The terms say this:
"Aircraft parts and accessories, Boat parts and accessories, Caravan parts and accessories, Car parts and accessories, Motorcycle parts and accessories, Trailers parts and accessories and Truck parts and accessories are included."
And this: "Listings in the following categories are excluded: Aircraft 63676, Caravans, Motorhomes 32633, Cars 29690, Motorcycles 32073, Other Cars, Bikes, Boats 32636, Trailers 9882, Trucks, Commercials 6049, Real Estate 10542, Services 150968, Business 170638, Industrial 170769"
Not actually a paradox, but certainly lacking clarity — especially without a full list of inclusions. It's likely, yet, uncertain whether or not this promotion is available for anything other than vehicle accessories.
Sometimes it's difficult to gauge if these corporate oversights are intentionally confusing, or genuinely incompetent.

She is wrong, this promotion works for all categories except the ones listed in the exclusions list. I just listed many items today with a free listing fee. Gallery is not free however. still 59c… :(

After 1.5 month complaints ( such a waste of time for 89cents) received the following response from ebay:

manner.I carefully reviewed your listing and I found that you've listed
this during the Free Insertion Fee + Gallery Fee promotion last
September 18-19. I'm glad to inform you that I can process a one time
credit of AU $0.89 for the listing fees. This will reflect on your next
invoice and you can verify this on your Account Activity. Please take
note that normally listing fees are non-refundable whether the item
sells or not. You can compare these fees to posting an Ad in the
newspaper. You will pay for the fees even before the newspaper prints
your Ad.
