    does this come with animoji?

    • I think not.

    • Animoji is only on the iPhone X.

  • +1

This is going to be hot.

  • ummmmm,paid $1419 at a local apple store for a 128gb model. sigh!

    • -1

Least you're getting local warranty. Anything goes wrong with buying from ShopMonk you would need to send it to Singapore.

      • +13

I thought Apple has worldwide warranty regardless of where you bought it?

        • yes u are correct

        • @ericc:
          not technically.

Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device.

          @Sharp:

Technically or not, many of the grey-imported Apple products I have purchased for myself and parents will appear under Apple ID with their full 1-year warranty (not the 2-year that local products get) and I haven't had any issues dealing with Apple regarding them.

    • lol well at least its local stock?

    • +7

Nah, for that much different in price and capacity, I will get the grey stock without thinking twice.

But lucky I'm android user now.

    • Refund it.

    • refund it and get the new one.

  • Are they the same exact model that sold in Australia?

    • If it is Qualcomm modem version like HK stock it is better than Australian version. Australian stock use inferior Intel chipset

      • wow didnt know about diff processors on iphone. i heard about samsungs tho

      • TSMC manufacture the iPhone SoC, which is designed by Apple. Qualcomm and Intel just make the modems.

        • I have request for the edit of my post :) Intel modem is not as fast Qualcomm one hence the limit of the speed on Qualcomm iPhone.

  • I am waiting for iPhone 8 or 9 …. I don't think I can wait for 10 though.

    • Didn't iPhone 10 (or X) come out today?

      • thatsthejoke

      • +4

lol yeh… iphone 8 and X (10) were announced, 8 being same configuration as the 7 and X is the copy of the GalaxyS8 with bezel less screen and a price that will blow your socks off lol

        • where is the 9th?

        • +3
        • @ericc: nope. correct answer: going back to 9 after X.

        • @dragonindespair: You sure not 7s or 8s after X?

        • @ax1: now i'm confused. alright leave it there mate…. :D

        • @dragonindespair:

Think Apple tried pulling off a Microsoft by skipping 9…lol

        • -1

Apple copying Galaxy Note series again. After the size jump, now bypass the logical sequence - 7S (+).
We know the next thing is battery issues…?

      • yes, they come out today, 8 start from 1079, 8 plus start from 1229, X from 1579

    • +1

      Q. Why did 6 cry?
      A. Because 7, 8, 9.

      • X not funny

  • Just a heads up, RED iPhone 7 has been discontinued and this will be one of the few chances to get a red colour one

    • +3

they'll release a special red edition for 8 and x im sure.. lol

      • +1

If a get a red one I'll still need a case anyway and it would be covered up.

        • +1

transparent case? same goes for people choosing jet black.

        • @ozlab: My cases are heavy duty ones like the Otter Box which usually isn't clear for me.

        • My jet black has a red case

  • +1

    Good price for 7+.
Nothing special regarding new 8 + or x. extortionate pricing but there of course daft rich kids buying a smartphone that cost almost same as macbook

  • Anyone knows if Apple Australia will cover the warranty?

    • +1

They'll cover the warranty for a year if it's grey and not a day longer - Australian stock buys you Australian consumer Law which means the warranty is as long as a "reasonable person" would expect the item to last - usually another year or so :)

      • Would adding applecare add a second year of local support?

        • Yes. I got my iPhone 7 Plus from Kogan. You cannot get it in-store for an international model, so I ordered AppleCare over the phone - they just send a diagnostic file to your phone to check its not damaged, then activate AppleCare for you. In the case that you need your handset replaced, they just order in the same model for you (takes a few days).

        • @luztra: what was the cost? Thanks

        • @Bellpop: At the time I ordered it was $129, but Apple now charges $229 for the iPhone 7 Plus.

        • @luztra: eek 😬

        • @luztra: and $299 for the iPhone X

        • @yojabbajabba: X for Extra lol

  • Wish price for black too

  • for those that have bought at shopmonk, do they charge (process) in AU or overseas?
just want to make sure don't get hit another 3% for overseas transaction

    • -3

      You'll be fine. It's under 1000

      • this is the credit card transaction i'm referring to… not customs tax
        there's a difference

I've been hit with these small 3% charges from a lot of "local" AU stores because their processing facility is offshore

        • get one of those cards with no overseas transaction fee?

        • +2

          @tidie:

a true ozb has multiple cards. you use the most effective card for a given situation
if we all know this is processed within AU, you'd pick the one that returns you the most reward points
if u know it's overseas, then you run with the 28 degrees / citi options

        • @reno:
I see your point, but when the 'situation' is not clear I would never take the risk.

Besides the card for overseas spend I got is ANZ travel adventures, slightly less points but I still get something.

        • based on the comments, i believe they are processed overseas so that's just something for everyone else here to pay attention to

      • not gst my friend, he is asking the cc fees

    • -4

Please note that you are paying in AUD, As long as you pay with an AUD currency card there wont be any CC fees.

      • -1

If the AUD amout is processed overseas then yes there is international purchase fee again.

        • -1

Depends on the card again. My NAB Velocity Platinum/Premium (the names are interchangeable with them) card charges me an international transaction fee for Spotify (when it is paid in AUD), but CBA, ANZ, MAC etc. don't charge such a fee.

        • @sena86: CBA: Transactions in Australian dollars but with an overseas connection - 3.00%
          https://www.commbank.com.au/support/faqs/410.html

        • @ChocolateMale:

While it is stated there, they don't seem to charge me an international transaction fee for overseas payments made in Australian dollars. From my understanding banks will say that to cover their asses but don't always follow through, e.g. CBA for me. I have credit cards with the 4 major banks plus Macquarie and NAB was the only one that charged me for AUD amounts overseas (I tested the same transaction with every bank).

However, that isn't to say that CBA might charge the international trans fee for overseas transactions made in AUD. Only talking from my personal experience.

        • +1

@sena86: Yeah. On my CBA debit card I was charged the surcharge once buying flight tickets from one Skyscanner Travel Agent ‘Tripsta’, paid in aud but still got charged $40. Rang them and they said it’s processed overseas but unable to tell where it is ‘cause our system said so.’ In Tripsta website there is no where saying they process the transaction overseas and even their office is in SA. Disgusting. Anyway it’s weird to know someone got charged for the fee and someone not.

        • @ChocolateMale:

          Can't trust anyone lol

  • oh yes!!

  • damn I want one!

  • +1

Apple has reduced their prices on iPhone 7 and 7 plus
    Check the link below:
    https://www.apple.com/au/shop/buy-iphone/iphone-7#01,10

    • 128GB is $1199

  • Red all gone

  • Has anyone ordered anything from Shopmonk before - are they reliable?

  • Good price for 256gb

  • I don't understand how $999 is a deal for this when the 8 is out so soon? And the "x"..

    • +3

      Iphone 8+ 256gb $1479
      Iphone x 256gb $1829
      Iphone 7+ 128gb $1199
So yes, this is a good deal.

    • +4

What's so hard to understand $999 vs $1479 8Plus or the eye watering $1829 X?

Edit - beat me to it :P

      • :)

      • I just don't see the point or value in spending $1000 on a phone. Even $500 is a lot of money for something that will either be dead (dropped) or average in 2-3 years.

Most people just Facebook, Text and call as well so it's even more pointless…

I can see the point in spending 2k on a TV as it's something that you tend to keep for some time and there is a ongoing difference from say a $500 set and I'll use/see the benefit or difference.

        But that's just me.

  • -8

    LOL $1k for a mobile.

  • Has anyone bought one of these?

    Are they unlocked?

Does it come with an AU charger or an overseas charger?

    • I actually bought the red one. They do come unlocked but with overseas charger and au adapter.

      • How long did delivery take?

My paypal got cleared 2-3 days ago and the order has been stuck on 'processing' ever since.

        • their ordering system is weird. My delivery took 5 days, I had no indication that the delivery was coming except for 'processing'. Then on the 5th day, the package guy came with the delivery. I was a bit confused because on shopmonk it was still in processing, only a day later did they give me my tracking number after it had been delivered.
