  • Bought one from them last year for $199, so this even cheaper. It'll be a heavy unit (over 13kg I reckon), and doesn't fold up all that small I'm sure. But it's cheap. As long as you're not planning on carrying it too far, it's fine.

  • Got one previously. It can fold enough to load inside the car if you need to bring it to a park.

  • So for the people that previously bought one of these, would you recommend it? What's the quality like?

    • I am not a bike expert as I only ride around the complex. Quality is good, the one I have had gears. They are not big bikes.

    • As most people have said, it depends on where you want to take it. If you're not lifting it too often, its definitely a good unit. In Sydney at least, it used to be the case that you could take folding bikes on the trains for free. Not sure what the deal is now.

  • I used to own a Dahon. The folding was useful for certain storage situations and for transporting in private vehicles when used with the recommended bag (without that it's easy for the combination of weight and protrusions to damage upholsery). But the feature had little application on public transport - folding actually made the bike more unwieldy and dangerous, while still being pretty large.

  • Crane bikes are heavy (similar to the ones you get from BigW, Target and Toys'rus) but good workhorses. The folding mechanism of this one is similar to the Dahon and there are quite a few protruding parts when folded. Good for transporting in the car boot and not really suitable for hand carry on public transport.

  • Personally i dont understand why people buy these bikes, but having said that Crane make some good low end products.

I have the helmet from the sale previously and it is really good for the price , also boxing gloves and focus mat and some other sports items, so far so good

  • If anyone is interested, I bought one of these and took it for a test ride today. Gotta say its pretty good for the price and seems pretty solid. Folds into my boot quite easily.

Needed to adjust the breaks first and put more air in the tires, but after that it was good to go.
