    review on 12 June 2017:
Very disappointed with this item, so complicated to set up and use and playback really poor quality compared to Go-pro.

yeah right… comparing grape with watermelon

  • It is inexpensive but the quality is low enough that I think most people will use it a couple of times and then never touch it again. When these gadgets are 8k or maybe 16k the video quality will be high enough for most people to enjoy. At the moment this is worse than VHS quality and not worth the disappointment.

  • Found the same thing (I'm assuming), $32 on eBay from overseas. Hmmmmmmmmmm

  • The general rule is you can find anything from CotD cheaper on ebay/AliExpress etc.

  • These are 360 degree like as in panorama.
But they are like 180 degrees from the top most point to about the centre.

So you have about 220 degrees of view just missing.

Rather look for a cheaper camera that has two lenses and stitches the footage together.
Otherwise wait until Go-Pro release their 360 degree camera and spend a bit on that.

I have one of these and it's pretty meh.
The interface on the camera is ok, and it has a phone app that doesn't work great.
You can download the videos from the memory card but the footage is pretty crap considering how much is cut off.

    • Was looking at mounting 3-4 cameras on a stick, and stitch the video together, but found no free stitching software, and the one to buy is around $300.

  • Wait you forget your camera to miss out on the most amazing moments ever that you must upload to the internet due to looking at screen but you just happened to have a 360 camera lying about?

A question? Does anybody ever watch the videos produced by these? I have a couple of action cams that I bought for skiing and road cycling. I've collected hours of footage sking overseas and cycling through the dandenongs. Nobody, myself included seems to have any interest in a family 'film night' to see how awesome a skier and cyclist I am. The best I've dome is perhaps the odd clip of a friend crashing to embarras them on facebook or the videos of the kids learning to snowboard etc. i get it that people want to have geat video quality but do people actually collect the hours of footage then go back and watch it? No judgement here, just interested in how the footage gets used.

    • I have a drone and have hours and hours of stunning footage as well, same boat. We used to watch home VHS videos and stuff when I was a kid so had similar expectations now, just like you. I guess its become more öf a "personal memory bank" kind of thing these days iuno..

    • My tip is not to re-watch them too soon. I say "re-watch" as no doubt you'll want to review the footage soon after you get home.

Instead watch them a few years later. You'll experience a warm fuzzy nostalgic feeling inside when you do.

I've also got hours of drone and action cam footage archived and every couple of years I dig it out and watch them.
